Four generations of my family spent a three day Christmas get together at Waverley Lodge. There's lots to enjoy for every age group. Immaculately kept, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Very convenienet to Catalooche Ski Resort and downtown shops. Owners were very nice and were available to us if we had any questions. Wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Waverly lodge is a perfect place to stay. The Lodge is alot nicer and larger when we got there than the pictures illustrated. Waverly is decorated wonderfully and makes you feel "at home" while on vacation. The Lodge is located right on the ski mountain and minutes from the shops and restaurants. It would be the perfect location during the winter months for skiing. I would recommend staying at the Waverly Lodge if you are going to Maggie Valley.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

What a great weekend. We had the best time and it snowed!!!! The house was perfect for our families to all stay together and the kids loved it. The house location and layout worked out so well and we loved cooking in the kitchen. There was plenty of room and the house was so comfortable. It was one of my families best vacations EVER and only 2 1/2 hours from home. We hope to make this an annual trip and fell in love with Waverly Lodge and Maggie Valley.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Our family loved this home. It was very well appointed with a great hot tub and easy access to Cataloochee. The kitchen was large and well stocked- great for cooking and eating together. One issue with the house- the 4th "bedroom" is super tiny -a twin with a trundle (no closet, no window). This creates a problem when you have 4 couples, like we did. Otherwise- this is a FABULOUS house and Matt provided great service.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Most excellent place for a family vacation! The whirlpool, pool table and air hockey tables are in great shape. The kitchen is extremely conducive to family meals. Our extended family had an absolutely wonderful time in this mountain retreat. The house was very clean, had all the amenities you could ask for. Highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? •Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? Yes. Although we did know it ahead of time because the listing was accurate, the steps were not fun when trying to keep my 20-month old from them. The way the stair landings are there is no way to securly lock a gate into place so you had to keep a constant hand on him which made it hard to help cook, relax, etc. •Was the property clean, was it well-maintained, etc? Yes •Did the owner provide good customer service? Incredibly so, before and during when we called or texted with questions he always responded very quickly •Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? yes, we already want to book and come back next year! •What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike? we loved the waterfalls, Socco and another that I cannot remember the name of but if off 19 headed toward Cherokee and you turn on Big Cove Road. 19 itself if very pretty headed to Cherokee and the shops in Maggie Valley and Cherokee were fun. The apple stands along the way are great. The only time we ate out was at Garlic Knots and it was so good we went there twice! •Other - take towels and paper goodsDid you find this review helpful? Though there were VERY minor items not in peak condition (basketball goal in garage, deck chair, coffee table storage, at least one set of blinds), this home more than met our expectations. The online pictures were exactly as we saw this lodge. Everything was clean and well-maintained, except for the aforementioned items. The owner was cordial in email correspondence when answering questions. We chose this location and this home primarily because we wanted a quiet, peaceful mountain getaway with amenities conductive to cooking in. Maggie Valley and surrounding areas are indeed beautiful. We would highly recommend this property to others.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

First I want to stay that I spent hours looking at houses on the internet...then i came across Waverly Lodge. I corresponded with Matt for several months leading up to the trip. He was always prompt and courteous and I really appreciated his willingness to answer all my questions. We arrived on Saturday with 10 kids (ages 13-19) all pooped from a week of city mission work. The lodge was just what they needed, warm and relaxing. There was plenty of spaces for them to spread out and do their "own thing"... some read, others played games (pool table was a big hit!), some watched the OLYMPICS (having two family rooms enabled more than one sport to be watched at a time), while yet others just enjoyed the hot tub. The location was perfect: close enough to rating the Nantahala (if you go, check out the new Adventure Ropes Course), a quaint shopping trip to Waynesville with an "old fashioned" movie theater, or a drive into Asheville. I cooked all meals but 2 in the house. The kitchen was well stocked with everything a cook would need, and lovely service for the entire group. A marveloustime was had by all. We plan to make this a yearly trip. Thanks for sharing your lovely homeDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wonderful cabin with nice water sounds all day and night from nearby creek make it a relaxing environment to go chill out and get away from the hustle and bustle of today's busy busy city life. Spent weekend there with my wife, and 5 year old daughter plus another couple with a 4 year old and a infant. We all had a great time. The 4 and 5 year olds had a blast with the bunk beds and the loft space. All in all this is a fantastic cabin and I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The listing and pictures are definitely accurate and when you arrive, you will not be able to suppress a large smile. This was our first experience ever renting a home for a vacation and it was absolutely wonderful. The house is very clean; beautifully decorated and maintained. The kitchen has every tool you could need. I fed 13 people (all older teens andadult age except one) all week long and the kitchen made that possible. Our teenage/young adult children enjoyed skiing, Joey's Pancake house and a couple of close by restaurants. We will definitely return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
