We've been working on making the Breezy Inn II even better! New sliding glass doors downstairs, freshly painted master and guest room, brand new commercial quality foosball table, new blinds throughout, and enlarging the fire pit area are some of the improvements we've made past year to make your stay even more enjoyable. Our guests loved this adorable cottage last year ~ hope you'll enjoy these upgrades too!
Set on the main channel of Smith Mountain Lake, The Breezy Inn II is the quintessential lake cabin. The perfect home for families; the main floor has a fireplace, full kitchen, master bedroom (queen), guest room (2-twin) and full bath. The loft is a spacious sitting room with futon (full) and downstairs has a recreation room with Foosball table, air hockey, television, and DVD/VHS library. A guest room (full), laundry room, and 3/4 bath is also found on the lower level. The views and dock are amazing! With deep water, ample decking, Adirondack chairs, and plenty of water toys you only need your towel and sunscreen to make the afternoon complete. The house also boasts a variety of games and a grill for family cookouts. Tucked in a secluded neighborhood with one-way streets, the Breezy Inn II is a wonderful escape from the chores of daily life. However, if serenity gets too relaxing, shopping, a spa, putt putt, arcades, and a movie theater are just a few miles away.
Located on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, The Breezy Inn II is close to Hickory Hill Winery, Booker T. Washington National Monument, Smith Mountain Lake State Park, and great shopping. Just 30 minutes drive to The National D-Day Memorial, The Peaks of Otter, The Peaks of Otter Winery, and the Blue Ridge Parkway we're ideally located for lots of day trips. Just beyond the Peaks of Otter mountains is Natural Bridge, one of the seven natural wonders of the world along with caverns and the Natural Bridge Zoo. At Smith Mountain Lake you'll find lots to do with boat and jet ski rentals, fishing guides, and the hydroelectric Smith Mountain Dam tour. With one of the best fireworks shows on July 4th, Saturday evening music festivals at Hickory Hill, weekly festivals and events at the Smith Mountain State Park, beautiful fall foliage, and the Christmas Boat Parade this waterfront cabin is ideally located for weeks of endless fun.
Boat Rental & Fishing Information - Bridgewater Marina and Parrot's Cove Marina, both located on HWY 122 offers jet ski and pontoon boat rentals. In addition, there are several other marinas in the area with boat rentals available. Copies of 'The Laker' magazine are provided with ample information on restaurants, recreation ideas, and day trip suggestions. There are several fishing guides in the area, our favorite is Spike's Prime Time Fishin'. Bring a cooler of drinks and snacks along with a warm jacket as it's cold at 5:00 am when the guides strike out. The guides generally fish for stripers and expect to catch 8-12 lbs ones! They are wonderful cooking and the guides will skin and fillet them for you so bring a disposable cooler to bring them back - fish water will stink up your car! Fishing licenses are required even to fish off a private dock at Smith Mountain Lake. These can be obtained through any of the bait and tackle shops along HWY 122 and are very reasonably priced.
Wine Festivals - In addition to the Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival held in September, weekly music/wine parties are held most Saturday nights at Hickory Hill Winery on Hickory Cove Lane. As you have to drive right by this small, family owned vineyard to get to the Breezy Inn II it's worth the stop just to sample the local fare. A schedule of Hickory Hill events can be found in the guest information book located inside the Breezy Inn II. A personal favorite is to pack a picnic basket and blanket on Saturday evenings in the summer for live music; the vineyard is pretty and the kids and run and play. They only ask that you drink their wine instead of outside alcohol. Also nearby is the Smith Mountain Vineyard just off Hwy 122 and the Peaks of Otter Winery near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Other fun activities... From triathlons to fireworks, antique boat shows, charity home tours, and wake boarding tournaments, Smith Mountain Lake has something to offer everyone in the family! The Breezy Inn II is conveniently located just off Hendrix Store Road between the Smith Mountain Lake Airport and HWY 122. Dinner options range from pizza and ice cream (Bridgewater Marina) to fine dining at The Landing, and a menagerie of offerings in between such as Mexican, Caribbean, Asian, and Irish. If you're a golfer, Smith Mountain Lake offers up several opportunities to exercise your skills on the links. Brochures on several public/private courses are found inside the Breezy Inn II. Should hiking and mountain biking be your calling, the rolling hillside around SML is perfect for riding. Mountain hiking trails can be found along the Blue Ridge Parkway and great walking trails abound at the SML State Park. A personal favorite is a hike up to the Peaks of Otter just outside of Bedford, VA on Rt. 43.

Wow, you have thought of everything at your lovely home on the lake. The location is perfect and the place was stocked to the nines with everything we needed. We even got a brief bit of snow to enjoy! Our beds were really comfortable and the layout was perfect for the kids. We'll be back soon to enjoy your place during the warm weather next. Thanks again, Karen and Chris

The cove is quiet, owner was easy to work with, the house contains just enough supplies to cook a good meal and enjoy dinner on the deck. We loved the deep water at the dock while being removed from the heaviest traffic on the lake. We enjoyed staying at the house. One excursion to try--the parasailing. It was a peaceful adventure.

My friends and I wanted a relaxing weekend away from the city and that is exactly what we got. The location of the house is perfect! There was plenty to do in the area if we wanted to get out for awhile, but it was nice to know we had a beautiful lake to go back to. I highly recommend this property! Thank you so much for the wonderful weekend.

We want to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us on Smith Mountain Lake. We had a great time. We failed to get his name but met the young man who cleaned the snow off the steps and asked him a good place for breakfast. He recommended the Mayberry Diner which was an excellent choice. The biggest and best omelet I have ever had. We went there for breakfast Thursday morning before we started out on our eventuous day. We went to the D-Day Memorial, stopped at an apple farm and a little store on the side of the road. We ate lunch in Bedford at Liberty Station. This was recommended by our tour guide at the D-Day Memorial. My husband retired after working 38 years starting on the N&W which later became Norfolk Southern so he thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant. Good food and our waitress was friendly and efficient. We also took your advice and went to the Homestead Creamery and ate about five pounds (2 scoops) of the best ice cream we have ever had. Enjoyed spending the evening in your home by the fire with friends we had not seen in a couple of years. Friday morning before we left for home we met another friend who lives in Roanoke and we had not seen for thirteen years at the Mayberry Diner and had their flapjack breakfast. If you have not been there my advice would be to get one flapjack; more than enough. Everyone said we should have stayed one more day so we could have fished. We decided if you are asking for more you know you had a good time. We definitely will be back to meet again so you can expect to hear from us again next year. Joe and Charlene
