One of the finest vacation rentals on Bainbridge Island and the Puget Sound and only a 35-minute ferry ride from Seattle. Enjoy the quiet solitude of this newly furnished 815 square foot guest cottage on private 1 acre waterfront property with easy access to many cultural and recreational opportunities onsite, across the Island, in Seattle and on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. The cottage is located on the west side of the Island on Fletcher Bay only 6 miles from Downtown Winslow.
The guest cottage has a private patio, flower, vegetable and herb gardens. Enjoy the private dock with swimming, canoe, 3 kayaks, beach access, clamming and fishing. Relax on the waterside patio and make smores on the gas fire-pit. Watch bald eagles, blue herons, osprey, seals, otters and a variety of migratory waterfowl in the bay. Kayak on Agate Passage and Puget Sound where you could catch a view of the occasional Orca whale. From the entrance of the Bay the sunsets over the Olympic Mountains are breathtaking.
Visitors come to tour gardens, golf, visit nature preserves, bike, kayak, write or simply relax. There are many activities on the island for children including a children’s museum, skate park, and aquatics center. Families enjoy hiking, sailing, boating, kayaking golf, state parks, museums, and lingering on Main Street where there are a variety of locally owned shops, restaurants and coffee houses.

“Beary”convenient to Seattle’s Pike Place Market city sights, but a world away from the tourist hustle-and-bustle you’ll discover idyllic Bainbridge Island. To reach Fletcher Bay Landing from Seattle, simply hop on the 35 minute ferry to Bainbridge Island from Pier 52. Enjoy the panoramic city skyline views from the ferry’s open-air top viewing deck as you make your way to the island. Arriving at Bainbridge Island’s Eagle Harbor ferry landing, it’s a scenic five minute drive to Fletcher Bay Landing through fragrant pine tree forests with peek-a-boo views of Puget Sound.
From the moment I stepped through front door, the cottage was breath of fresh air. Through the spacious bay windows, light bathed the living room in warmth and the dining room table featured a glass vase of hand-cut flowers. Thoughtful and personal touches make this vacation rental truly standout. There’s a worldwide map on the wall and guests are invited to pinpoint their hometown with a push pin. To experience the island through a local’s point of view, owners Larry & Sandy provide a custom map highlighting their favorite sights and restaurants. On the coffee table, there’s plenty of area magazines, a book of the island’s history and a big white binder of activity brochures for added inspiration on things to see and do.
The cottage’s interior was designed with comfort-in-mind. Lounging is encouraged on the living room’s brown leather sofa. The master bedroom’s cozy cotton sheets and extra soft blankets are great for snuggling with that someone special. The bathroom features amenities you’d find at luxury boutique hotel- an abundant supply of plush towels, an Aveda shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower and organic hand lotion sink side.
Fletcher Bay Landing’s serene sheltered cove location set the mood for relaxation, romance and recreation. A beautifully landscaped stone path led to two separate terraces overlooking the waterfront. It was the perfect place for a leisurely afternoon of reading and sipping a glass of wine by moonlight around the outdoor gas fireplace. The ramp leading down to an on-site private dock was bordered by seasonal blackberry bushes (ripe for the picking). Guests are welcome to use four kayaks and a canoe (free of charge) to explore the island’s coastline with breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountain range. During a sunset kayak outing, I spotted brightly colorful starfish, a family of otters swimming out to sea and blue herons soaring above the shore.
You can buy the “bear essentials” for cooking up a homemade dinner at nearby Town & Country Market, a local grocery store that’s well-stocked with a wide variety of wine, produce and organic food. If you prefer to dine out, try Four Swallows, a fine dining seafood bistro. Don’t forget to swing by Blackbird Bakery for lavender caramel tarts and a café latte to start off your morning.
Whether you’re seeking a romantic weekend for two or small family getaway to reconnect with nature, Fletcher Bay Landing is the perfect vacation prescription!

We were visiting relatives on Bainbridge Island and needed to find accommodations nearby. Much to our delight we found Larry and Sandra's little piece of paradise at Fletcher Bay. The accommodations were beautiful and totally comfortable and very clean, too! We enjoyed using all the beautiful spaces that Larry and Sandra created, in the morning we sat outside, overlooking the bay while sipping on our morning coffee, at night we sat around the fire pit roasting marshmallows. During the day we went kayaking in the boats that were provided and used the rubber boots (available in everyone's size) so we could explore the ocean floor at low tide-much to our delight we found large and small star fish in bright orange and purple! It was truly the most magical place and Larry and Sandra were the most gracious hosts. We can't wait to visit Fletcher Bay again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks for the nice review. Sandy and I are glad you had a nice stay and hope to see you again.

We spent a very lovely long weekend at the Fletcher Bay Landing cottage, which is an absolutely perfect vacation spot for a peaceful getaway. The cottage is updated, clean and quite comfortable, and it is located conveniently on the island for short drives to restaurants, shops and sightseeing. There are thoughtful touches throughout the cottage, from high thread count sheets to local maps/guides to a fully functional kitchen with modern appliances. We would recommend this cottage to anyone, and will definitely be returning. Thank you for the hospitality, Larry and Sandra!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Just spent a wonderful weekend at this cottage. The owners have thought of everything, and the cottage is comfortable and relaxing. It is just a short walk to the water. We spent much of our time on either the stone patio overlook (with firepit) or on the sun deck. Lovely location and a great spot to use as a base for exploring the area. The owners also give you full access to a canoe and kayaks. We loved paddling down the inlet and enjoying the beautiful setting. A wonderful place, not too far from our home to come for a much needed rejuvinating weekend. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We anticipated having a nice time at the Fischer's rental unit but it was 10 times nicer than we even anticipated. The accommodations were immaculate, classy and cozy. The bay was beautiful It was great to see how the bay changed with high tide and low tide. Every morning we would sit and read our books and drink coffee and watch the beautiful bay. Larry and Sandy made us feel like we were at home. Larry gave us a list of ideas for places to eat and things to do. The last night we were there, we sat by their gas fire pit and it was so beautiful we didn't want it to end. This rental unit is one of the nicest places that we have ever stayed and we will definitely be back. We will also recommend it to others.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Words cannot express how wonderful this vacation was. I would have never expected such peace and quiet was merely a ferry ride away from the city. Larry and Sandy are fabulous hosts, and the rental they maintain is perfect. Relaxing, cozy, immaculate, comforting, peaceful, and entertaining are an understatement when I think back on this rental. The first morning, after one of the most relaxing nights of my life, my girlfriend and I were sitting on the porch overlooking the bay, enjoying our coffee, and found ourselves only but 10-15 feet away from a mother and child deer. Truly amazing. At the mouth of the bay, sitting in kayaks, I can truthfully say I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen in my life. Pinks, oranges, and dark blues. All as the sun set between two silhouetted peaks of the Olympics. We have no doubt that we chose the best rental on Bainbridge, and we will be coming back time and time again. Highly recommended to all our friends, and to all you readers as well. Thanks again Fischers!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

Why the Owner Chose Bainbridge Island:
Prior to moving to Bainbridge Island from Billings Montana, my wife and I had vacationed here several years. We were always struck with the beauty of the area so when we had a chance to move here we jumped at it. We weren't disappointed. We have lived here now since 2003 and love every minute of it. It took a long time to find this property since waterfront property is hard to find and with 1 acre and a dock it is even harder.
Every morning Sandy and I spend time looking out our picture window at Fletcher Bay while having coffee and are amazed that we never get tired of watching the water. The kinetic nature of it along with the variety of wildlife that use it is truly remarkable. It is a rare place to live and we are truly thankful of our good fortune to live here.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Wildlife that includes Bald Eagle, many different waterfowl, Blue Heron, Sea Otter, Seal, Osprey, Canadian Geese, a wide variety of song birds, Deer, Racoon, Fox, and the rarely seen but reportedly on the island, single black bear.
Kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, boating, sailing, birding, and gardening almost year round. Ther is always something blooming here at any time of the year.
