Casa Shalimar is situated on the edge of the seaside pueblo (village) of La Herradura, in the Costa Tropical. It is the warmest part of southern Spain, 70km east of Malaga, in the province of Granada.

Park your vehicle at the top of the steps and wind your way down the many steps to the gates of the casa. Open the front door and you are greeted with the feeling of being on a boat, as all you can see is the ocean. Change into your swimsuit and jump from the rocks or from the steps into the sea. Snorkel and dive in the clear blue water.
During the Spanish Armada, it is said that a galleon sank and many divers now search the bottom for gold coins. The casa has lovely terraces overlooking the sea and an infinity pool on the edge of the rocks, which is private and secluded. Watch dolphins swimming in the bay and enjoy hours of snorkeling from the luxury of one's own house.

Why the Owner Chose La Herradura
The house's close proximity to the sea made it a dream property. It has all year round sunshine. The village is fun and even has a lovely market in the centre. It is close to the historical city of Granada. It's less than an hour from the airport. Basically, it ticks just about every box you could imagine.

We love the house as it is like a Morrocan Castle on the sea. The sound of the sea has a calming, almost magical effect and the village is just five minutes walk away. It is a truly unique property which we consider ourselves very fortunate to own and has also provided much inspiration for one family member, who has written more than a dozen published books while staying at the house.

perfect weather helps, but what a beautiful location.Kitchen has all the cookware possible, bed (well, we only slept in one) very comfortable.Close to beach and town.Restaurants reasonably priced. We're returning next year

This villa is beautiful. The interior of the house is well appointed but the outdoor spaces is where this villa shines. If you like spending long lazy days beside the infinity pool sipping sangria; stopping only to enjoy snacks or dinner and wine around the outdoor dinning area while taking in breathtaking views; then this house is perfect. The village is friendly and idyllic, with charming restaurants and pubs. The beach is a short walk down the hill away and is nice but rocky. For sights, Granada is a short drive away and is bustling and historic. Almunecar is closer good for large groceries (like LITL). The complaints are few and minor, for instance, bring your own rock shoes as the house only has two pairs (which are small) and your own snorkeling gear since the house is limited. There is a wide and eclectic array of crockery in the kitchen, but it's missing some pieces like pizza pans and bottle openers (get twist-off or canned beer). Most of the sleeping pillows are down, so watch if you have allergies. There are only 6 lounge chairs for a house that sleeps up to 8 (one of which is a bit broken) but only 4 chair pads. However, these minor things soon fade away as soon as you step into the sun. For an ultra-relaxing holiday where I can get through the books I've been meaning to read, catch up on my sleep, work on my tan, or wander the village; I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely amazing place to holiday. The views from inside and outside of the villa are very impressive. The owner of the property has obviously spent a long time collecting furnishings and designing the interior and exterior of the property giving it character and elegance. We found the property managers extremely helpful and arrived to find it very clean and tidy property. The infinity pool offers great views and the terraces offer long days in the sun. With great shops and local produce in La Herraudura the villa is only a short walk to town. No hesitation in recommending this property and experience.

THE WHITE MARBLE THROUGHOUT THE VILLAS AS WELL AS THE ROMANTIC MASTER BEDROOM.THE OWNERS AND CARE TAKERS TAKE GREAT CARE TO MAKE YOUR STAY EASY AND STREE FREE.
