Cecilia was an amazing host and we had a wonderful time. The cottage is lovely - very rustic and relaxing and very private. Cecilia created a perfect balance between helping us with arranging wine tours and giving us driving directions when we needed them, while also allowing us space and time to ourselves. In all, it was a wonderful holiday and we would highly recommend the accommodation!

I recently stayed at La Sirena during a trip to Argentina. We stayed in the main house on the property and there were 5 adults in our group. The house and property are great! The location is perfect and it's very easy to get to the wineries and other sights from the house. The setting is so peaceful - we wished we could have stayed for much longer! The town nearby has everything you need. The owner, Cecilia, was very accomodating. She assisted with setting a bike and wine tour and recommended great places to eat. The house was fully equipped with everything you need and is very comfortable. I highly recommend this rental and I hope to be able to go back in the future.

What a great experience...The owner Cecilia is a delight and I consider her a friend after our visit. She went above and beyond to help us make arrangements for biking and wining (great fun) as well as recommendations for places to eat and wineries to tour. The casita is sweet and comfortable with lots of artistic touches. We spent hours on the front patio drinking our coffee in the mornings and our exquisite Malbec wines in the evenings. On hot days we could plunge into the pool and have some laughs with Cecilia. All in all we had a great time in Chacras. Thank you Cecilia for a memorable time at Casa La Sirena.

We had the opportunity to stay here for a 5 nights in February and I only wish we could of stayed longer. The guest cottage was quite big and so peaceful. It had a great charm and I love all the little touches the owner Cecilia did to the cottage. Not only do you have the cottage you also have access to the grill, large outdoor area and pool. We enjoyed sitting by the pool where we could enjoy some wine from our days at the winery. The property is in a great location and there are excellent restaurants that are not too far. A must try is Natalie Of. The owner Cecilia was amazing at helping up book tours, make reservations and teach us about the wine industry. We really enjoying talking with her and learned so much. I can't wait to come back and stay here!

la Sirena was fantastic. The pictures do not do justice to this rustic but suprisingly large cottage. The owner, Cecilia, lives next door, and she speaks excellent English and is a lovely woman. Cecilia is very artistic and has furnished la Sirena with an artistic mindset. Everywhere you look in La Serena, there is something very interesting that will catch your eye. The grounds have little touches that promote tranquility, as well. The town of Charcas is about a 5 minute drive- we would recommend having a car here and is very pretty. There was a great shaded outdoor cafe perfect for morning coffee and IPad reading of the morning papers. If you want nightlife all the time this probably isn't the place for you but if you want serenity and a great (air conditioned) cottage, it's perfect. We only had 3 days scheduled this time. We want to go back for 10days sometime soon.

This was a very unique and enjoyable vacation! Our goal was to develop familiarity with the geography, and particularly the vineyards and wineries. The owner could not have been a better resource. Our learning curve was very steep and enjoyable. And, as we were driving around, we got a flat tire. A, very, local Gomeria changed the tire and fixed it for 6 US$. Oh, and the local restuarants. Did we mention the local restaurants? The property and casita were more than we needed, besides being delightfully eclectic.

We stayed at Casa Sirena for a long weekend January 2012 with our two children ages 2 and 5. The house was set up great for us- a green grass yard with ripe plums on the trees for the kids to pick, an in-ground pool with 2 rafts to float around on, a simple but nice kitchen stocked with basic staples (and Cecilia was generous to lend us a few other things,) an Argentine parrilla with everything you need for a tradition dinner on the grill, a queen bed in the bedroom for my husband and I and a trundle bed in the main room for the kids. Cecilia is a wonderful host- she helped us find the grocery store, she pointed us in the right direction to buy some pieces of art, and she was always kind and welcoming to our kids. We would definitely recommend this house to another family looking to visit Mendoza but be out of the city a bit. And it is decorated really funky and artsy which we appreciate. Lastly, the restaurants we tried in Chacras de Coria were great as are a few of the wineries close to the house.

The house is very basic. However, everything works and if there is a problem, Cecilia will do whatever necessary to solve the problem. Location is very good. The area is very nice and it is near many wineries. If you are looking for good accommodation and location without luxury, take it.

(PORTUGUESE Review Below!) My wife and I stayed for one week, and would have stayed longer if we could. This is a much richest travel experience than staying in tourist packed hotels. After long days of tours, wine tastings, walking everywhere, we couldn't wait to come back to "our little house" in the evenings. The house is simple, functional, comfortable, clear, with a nice rustic deco. Cecilia, the owner, is right next door, always available for any need or recommendation, without being intrusive and respecting guest's privacy. When (not if) we return to Mendoza we will no doubt stay there again! A rental car is recommended to better enjoy the area. Mendoza has much more to offer than wine and food - if you can, go to the High Altitude Cordillera area, go horseback riding, go hiking, go visit the Reserva Villavicencio... Thank you Cecilia and we hope to come back soon! Obrigado Cecilia e esperamos voltar breve!

We stayed with our 1 year old son for 14 days at "La Sirena" . The idea was that we would stay for a week but we extendend our stay for a week more and that actually says it all! The little house is beautiful located in a big garden where you can have your own privacy. In front of the main house we chilled in the refreshing swimming pool which is surrounded by big fruit trees and a grass field. Everything is very relaxed and laid back here. The house itself is very nicely decorated (just as the owners house) and simple but just in the right way. Charcras is 20 minutes by car from Mendoza, but who needs Mendoza if you have Charcas! (go on sunday evening to the square where people dance tango !). It is ideally located in between hundreds of wineries and Cecilia, the owner helps you with everything she can possibly help you with. She knows all the wineries very well and has so much to tell about the wine business in Argentina. It was wonderful to stay at her place because she really enjoyed taking care of us and our little son. And we even had a great asado lunch with her and her family. A place we will always remember!

This propertly highly exceeded our expectations! We are a family of five, including 3 kids ages 14, 11, and 9. This is a very charming cottage that the owner, Cecilia, maintains in excellent conditions. The pictures do not reflect this property very well, it is much nicer and cozy in reality. It is very near to the center of the town, Chacras de Coria, with plenty of restaurants, bakeries and interesting places. Cecilia is able to help you arrange different tours to wineries, rafting, horse back riding. We were in Mendoza to visit family so we did not do many of those. We will come back without hesitation to this place!

We spent 10 days in Casa la Sirena on holidays with 2 small children. It was a fantastic place to be based if you want to explore around Mendoza. The house is within walking distance of the town of Chacras which has nice shops and restaurants. Lots of vineyards are close by and the owner was a great help in suggesting places to go. She also helped us to rent a great car which was delivered and picked up from the house. This is essential if you stay here and gives you freedom to explore. Local taxis are quite expensive. The house itself has everything, it is small but comfortable with lots of nice touches. Great place to do asados/bbq and the pool is also very nice. Would definitely recommend it - but get a car!

I stayed here with 3 friends about a month ago and cannot say enough wonderful things about this home! The owner is as sweet and helpful as one can be & the town itself was perfect! The house provides beauty, privacy, ease of access & safety. It was perfect. We walked to town everyday for local shopping, wonderful restaurants & beautiful people! We rented bikes and did the wine tours, danced downtown & almost missed our bus back to Buenos Aires because we were having so much fun! The house is clean and well maintained. I would love to come back and visit!

Owner is lovely and was quite helpful in arranging tours. But the accommodation is quite expensive for what it is. It is basic. In my view, too far from central Mendoza.
Owner response:These nice guys cuople were recommended to come to La Sirena by previous clients who were delighted to enjoy wineries, mountain activities like rafting and hilking and bike tour to some wineries around the house area, and discovering the great divesity of all the restaurants in Chacras. Dan stayed only two days, wanting to be in Mendoza city. If I´d known this I would have told them to look for a place in the city of Mendoza, this sounds more intelligent than taking taxis to and from Mendoza city all the time. I suggested them strongly to rent a car . The issue of something being basic is according to the stethic vision of each person, on the other hand soo many people love the simplicity and bohemic look of La Sirena. It´s sad to miss a simple point after such a long trip.

We really enjoyed our stay with Cecilia ( the owner and neighbor) in her wonderful little house. She was very helpful in translating for us to make arrangements for outdoor activities, she provided transportation into town for us on one occasion and generally was there when we needed her but gave us our space when we wanted o be alone. The BBQ allowed us to shop in the markets in town then come "home" to cook for ourselves which we really enjoyed. It made for a much more authentic experience for us. I didn't like the fact that the dog swam in the pool but maybe that is just a personal thing. The "loft" as it is called in the ad isn't what North Americans would call a loft.It really is just a living room on the same level as all the other rooms. If we are ever lucky enough to get back to this town I wouldn't hesitate at all to stay here. It was a wonderful family place to stay if there are no more than 4 people!. I'd give it a 2 thumbs up. Liz T from Calgary, Canada
Owner response:Liz and her beautiful family was an experience, I organized their winery visits rented the bykes, organized from them to be collected to make a wine & bike tour, mountain activitied for all of them (also being collected from the house), and shared a good time with them as they realy enjoyed the house. It was great how Remy learned to make a fire as we do in Argentina, and watching them use the bbq each night. Calling cabs, showing them maps and how to reach wineries I suggested and even speaking to her little child at 11 at nigt because he was scared of the wind was also a way to help them enjoy their visit, speaking english is of huge help specially in thi case. The issue of my dog Juana swimming in the pool is a matter I am solving looking for a new home for her. I hope to see Liz and her beautiful family again at CASA LA SIRENA.

We spent 4 nights here over Christmas and really had a good time. The house is very well situted for visiting the wineries (our primary objective) and Cecelia was able to give us good advice on the best ones to visit. She was also helpful in ither ways, such as doing some of our Christmas food shopping for us. She has a beautiful garden and it was good to relax around the pool with our glasses in hand!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in late Dec. 2010. Our objective was to visit wineries and learn about Malbec, and Cecilia helped make that happen. She found a driver to take us everywhere, and he was very knowledgeable about the area and the wineries. Two tips: either rent a car or arrange for some transportation if you want to leave the village area as not much else is walking distance, and learn more Spanish than you think you need. Enjoy!

If you're looking for a holiday rental, there's no other place to stay in Mendoza. The location is right in the heart of the Mendoza wine country in a well-to-do part of town, tucked away in a residential street. Cecilia, the owner, has renovated what was once the maid's quarters into a homely space with plenty of charm that comfortably sleeps four. She even offers use of the pool and gardens surrounding her own home (on the same block), which we made good use of. Cecilia is a gem, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better local wine expert, or instant friend for that matter. For first timers, the wineries are not easy to find, and choosing a few from the thousands available is difficult. Thankfully, Cecilia worked in the industry and knows all the best places, even arranging special tastings not available to most tourists (many of the wineries put out a small selection of basic wines and make you pay extra for the good stuff). We spent both nights out on the patio chatting (and drinking admittedly) with Cecilia, and despite our age difference of some 30 years, had a great time with her. She's a gracious host, and good fun. If it wasn't for her, our stay in Mendoza wouldn't have been so enjoyable. We've stayed in plenty of great places all over the world, but I'd have to stay that La Sirena is one of our most memorable.

Cecelia was the perfect host helping us find great eateries, the best wineries, and even finding a locksmith after we locked our keys in the car moments before we needed to catch our flight! We stayed here on Fri & Sat nights in late Nov 2009. The owner/host was VERY helpful and was a great resource for us, both before we got there and once we arrived. She speaks English very well. The accommodations were cute & nice. It was just 2 of us, but the place could have accommodated 4 total. This is the nice residential area of Mendoza, which was interesting to visit. We were among the locals. The local plaza/square was a 20 minute walk, where there were nice shops to visit and restaurants for dining. The most challenging part of our visit was transportation as taxis didn't frequent the area and we didn't have local phone access to call for a taxi. Again, the owner/host was very helpful in arranging taxis, etc. Ideally, we should have rented a car for the day(s) we didn't visit the wineries. Downtown Mendoza is about 20-30 min cab ride = $10 US and the Uco Valley where there are a few other spots to stay on winery/vineyards is 1+ hr away and a lot less "city life".

We spent an afternoon at La Sirena de Chacras de Coria after having opted to stay at another great location, but accepting Cecelia's offer to visit anyway. La Serena and the property there are really lovely and Cecelia couldn't be a better host. She has traveled extensively herself and we had such a nice afternoon sitting on her patio enjoying a beer and chatting. The rental cottage is special with a lot of interesting elements and artistic touches. When/if we are able to return to Mendoza, we would definitely stay at La Sirena.

What a perfect place for a perfect week. We were greeted warmly by Celia and shown to our absolutely charming accommodations. The cottage looked just like the photos on the website so we felt at home immediately. There are lovely, artistic touches from the colors to the art on the walls. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, again with stylish touches in the cutlery and dishes. The grounds are lovely, our front porch was great fun and, for us, the addition of a dog and two cats to play with were a real bonus. The location was ideal for both getting into the city and for touring in the area. Celia is wonerfully warm and helpful. Enjoy your stay!

What an absolutely charming place this is! We spent a week here in November 2008. The house is situated in a lovely walled garden with a fruit trees and a little fountain, so it was wonderful for our young son to run around freely. The house is adorable and beautifully and creatively decorated - perfect for a small family. Location is also great -we could walk to local shops and wineries, or a quick drive to the cute town or 10 minutes to Mendoza. Much better than staying in the city. But the best part of our stay was meeting Cecilia. She is warm, welcoming, and helpful, and is an expert in ALL of the wineries - even the little ones a tourist wouldn't know to visit. We invited her to join us for dinner on the porch our last evening - and it was the highlight of our stay. We will definitely be back!
