Perfect is the only way to describe this wonderful apartment. The owners provide detailed instructions; everything was in perfect order, very clean and a wonderful bed! We will be back and cant way to revisit Paris from the perfect accommodation.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The apartment is just as described. It is a comfortable, luxurious oasis in a very secure and convenient location. The apartment is much larger than an equivalent priced hotel room. We did not cook but enjoyed the convenience of the kitchen. We frequented the local bakeries and cheese shop and then enjoyed delicious breakfasts in the comfortable dining area. We had plenty of closet space to unpack and felt that we were living in Paris, not out of our suitcases. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Safety was never an issue. The neighbors were quiet and there was no noise from the street. The location is ideal. We were able to walk to all major sites without difficulty. All in all, an excellent vacation spot. Worth every penny!

Wonderful Stay...

This apartment was everything that was promised! The property is well suited for a couple - it was VERY comfortable. The location is super-central and it is very easy to get around from. There is a taxi stop about a block away, and two metro stops that are less than a 10 minute walk away. The furniture is very comfortable, the bathroom is beautiful, and the apartment is very tastefully decorated. There is a patisserie directly across the street with a pharmacy next do to it. The supermarket is about three blocks away with a wine shop on the way - all VERY convenient. Our arrival and departure were seamless - we were promptly met at the apartment, exactly as promised. Joel and Valerie (the owners) were a pleasure to work with through the entire planning process – they were even kind enough to shoot us a welcome e-mail to make sure we arrived safely. We look forward to returning to their apartment on our next trip and would surely recommend this apartment to other couples.

My husband and I stayed at the apartment for 4 nights. We have been to Paris before and stayed in hotels. Staying in the apartment was fantastic! Thank you, Joel and Valerie for sharing your apartment! It was clean and even more spacious than in the pictures. The communication and instructions were great! The book with restaurant recommendations was very helpful and also the Paris guidebooks. The apartment is located in a nice quiet residential area, very close to the Metro and only a 10 minute walk to the Champs Elysees. The bakery across the street was wonderful and we bought our groceries from Mono Prix just a few blocks away. We ate at a recommended restauant, Pomze, very close to the apartment and would highly recommend! I only wish you also had a larger apartment so we could bring our children with us on another trip! We had a wonderful time and perfect weather! It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary adn we hope to return in the future!

Beautiful Apartment, great location

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed this home in Paris. This is a beautful apartment, and looks even better in person than in the pictures. It is clean and very well maintained, and the decor is lovely. The main bedroom is very large and perfect for a couple or two girl friends looking for a girls getaway. In the event we had wanted to cook food at home instead of eating out, the kitchen was fully stocked. The location is great and close to a few Metro stations. The apartment is in more of a residential area so we felt like we were getting the true Parisien experience. We took the Roissy bus from the airport to Paris which was cheap and easy, and it was just a short walk to the apartment from the Opera, which is where the bus drops passengers off. There is also a great little bakery right across the street. Joel and Valerie were very reponsive and answered all our questions before and during our stay. In addition, we had to switch our flights due to an airline strike and Joel and Valerie were very accomodating and made sure we were able to meet with their contact to get the keys to the apartment. I would recommend this place to anyone and already have to friends and family! It definitely beats staying in a hotel. I cannot say enough and hope to get back someday!

My husband and I stayed in the amazing apartment for eight nights, and we LOVED it just like our own house, the generous size of the apartment could not be experienced through website pictures. Great location, stunning interior design and art-piece furniture, very quiet neighborhood ...... totally perfect for our purposes. The ancient building with the tiny little elevator just added to the charm. And being situated in area 8 was truly great for us to visit all the major attractions of Paris. Everything is clean, roomy and well-appointed with character. The living room is comfortable, kitchen is modern and useful, bathroom is bright and spacious, and the bedroom is just like heaven. And the WiFi connection is strong. The little library and the notebook with all the restaurant recommendations are very helpful ..... everything's terrific! We will never stay in a Paris hotel again, and if any of our friends or families would like to have a great experience in Paris like us, we will definitely suggest this apartment. We would also love to come and stay there again.

So Comfortable and great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Joel and Valerie's apartment. It's the nicest short-term rental we've come across. The apartment was nicely decorated, comfortable and cozy (especially nice during a rainy week) and we appreciated a well-appointed kitchen for when we wanted to have breakfast before leaving for the day. We loved having the WIFI connection and the Bose speaker dock for our Ipod. The apartment is in a great location too- near two metro stops, Blvd. Haussmann, Place Madeleine, a bakery and cafe across the street and a Monoprix for groceries is just a few blocks away. We highly recommend this apartment and plan on returning in the future.

Highly Recommended For Couples! Stylish, Comfortable, Convenient - Need We Say More?

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for a week in October, 2011 after a lot of research. We had never rented an apartment on vacation, although I have some experience in renting vacation properties myself. This property was everything the owners promised and much more! It was bigger than we we even expected because of the layout and was a delightful oasis after long days of sightseeing, It was very easy to access multiple Metro stops in different directions from the apartment and in a safe, comfortable, and friendly neighborhood. [The Metro was an easy and inexpensive way to explore the city fast, and it was simple to learn to get around. We used an iPhone app to get started, but RAPT Metro maps are available too.] The apartment kitchen is small as expected, but perfectly outfitted for eating in. The dishware is delightful. My husband loved making eggs for breakfast to complement the fresh croissants from the bakery across the street. I cooked a late supper one night after a stop at the local Monoprix (just a couple of blocks away) for food and wine. Sweet! (There are quite a few good eating establishments within blocks of the apartment for every taste and budget – so no need to cook in at all.) The king bed was heaven – and yes – it is truly a king and very comfortable. There was plenty of room to put clothing away, so there was no need to live out of suitcases. The large living room windows were a joy. I am a plus-sized woman and I fit into the tiny elevator just fine with my husband, although we took it up one at a time with luggage to start. The negatives? It’s hard to think of one. Not negatives, but quirks: It was a bit weird having the toilet room in a separate space from the rest of the bathroom at first, but we got to like that. And as you leave the apartment, you need to watch your step so you don’t trip stairs wind directly outside the door. The washer/dryer in the apartment is a single small unit, with separate controls for wash/dry cycles. It worked well for us, but we aren't the kind of people who do three loads of laundry on vacation. There is so much more to say, but we’ll leave those little surprises for future guests and just say what a wonderful find this apartment is! We could only wish the owners had a two-bedroom version we could share with friends. They made the whole process of renting easy and stress-free, made our stay a comfortable one, and we are looking forward to visiting again.

A word about our powder room and washer/dryer: our powder room is divided into 2 spaces with a door in between. The first space includes a sink and mirror, and the second space includes the toilet. This set up adds privacy to the toilet area and enables a couple of guests to use both spaces at the same time. Our washer/dryer: Finding space for a stand alone washer and stand alone dryer is tough in Paris, as the vast majority of apartments do not have separate laundry rooms. So much so that most washers end up in the kitchen while dryers are few and far between. Our apartment does have a separate laundry room, albeit a small one, which is why we opted for a combination washer and dryer. The combination washer/dryer works as advertised, which is to say that most garments will need to be air dried for a small amount of time following a dry cycle as combination washer/dryers will not be able to wring out every last bit of moisture in a garment.

For us, this was a great place to stay for our visit to Paris. We were there for 8 days so having such a beautiful apartment to use was so much better than a hotel room. It was clean, comfortable, and well located. We could go touring for the day and look forward to returning to spacious, full function living quarters. We especially liked the complete kitchen that allowed us to prepare some of our meals at "home", sparing us from eating every meal in a restaurant.The location of this apartment was excellent; close to many of the best tourist attractions but also located in a quiet Parisian neighborhood. We will definitely look to stay here again on our next trip to Paris.

My wife and I just spent four days in Paris. This apartment was a highlight of our stay. It is just a ten minute walk to the Champs Elysees. The neighborhood is very safe with a real authentic Parisian feel. And inside, the apartment was furnished and decorated very well. And it was quiet; sleeping was no problem at all. The listing (photos and description) are very accurate, and you won't be disappointed, in fact, we were presently surprised with the size, charm and character of this apartment, which you can only experience once there! The location of the apartment was perfect. Quite, safe street in 8th district, a close walk to a lot of the major sigths, cafes and restaurants and train station. The owner provided excellent customer service and professionalism leading up to and after our stay. Absolutely no concerns about recommending this property to anyone and would love to return when next in Paris!

Perfect Getaway

We were so fortunate to find five days in July when the flat was available. We thought from the photos that this would be a wonderful place to stay but we also knew that photos can be deceptive. In this case the photos lived up to our every expectation. The instructions provided for arriving at the flat were perfect. As soon as we walked into the apartment we felt right at home. It did not have the sterile feel of a rental. It felt as if we were guests in the home of a friend. The rooms are spacious and elegant. The marble bathroom (and the bath) were just like the finest hotel. Whenever we had a question Joel promptly responded by e mail. The kitchen was small but better equipped than many kitchens sleeping many more people. We loved having breakfasts in the eating area looking over the roofs of Paris with breads from the boulangerie . The location was quiet and central to so many areas. We loved the markets nearby andthe lilttle shops. The flat had so many guide books and every modern amenity. Having an elevator also was a treat. We have no hesitation recommending this flat to others who want a special stay in Paris. We have stayed in many luxury hotels in Paris,including the George V. After this experience I would always choose go stay at this flat if it is available. .

VERY nice apartment - pretty good location

We loved this apartment, where we stayed for a couple of weeks this summer (2011) in Paris. It's in the 8th, within a short walk of the Metro, and about (by my count) a 15 minute walk to the Tuileries. I have to say I do not love the 8th for purposes of visiting. But it's a nice neighborhood to call a base in Paris, because it is not as touristy (at least near this apartment). There is a cute street creperie near the building, as well as a very nice outdoor market (for food - a short walk). The unit itself has been done tastefully, preserving the charm without looking quaint. It is bright (big windows), and looks very much like the picture in the ad. It is spacious enough for two people to live comfortably without falling over each other. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen is the right size, and is fully functional. There's a washer/dryer in the unit. The AC works well. The bathroom shower/tub is big/comfortable. It's on the 4th floor, but there's an elevator. My only complaint: it would be nice to get more than news shows for English-language TV (this, though, coming from a TV addict). The owners, whom I have never met, are nice and responsive (to inquiries, etc.). All-in-all, I would totally recommend this place.

Bonjour Valerie and Joel! We enjoyed every minute at your apartment. Your French Home was everything we wished for and more. Your housekeeper was adorable. She made our arrival so fun with her laughter and French instructions! Not only is the apartment beautifully decorated but the neighborhood is charming. Our Summer 2011 Paris trip was exceptional. We are so fortunate to have seen the listing on VRBO. We will definitely recommend your apartment to American friends who prefer a private residence when traveling. We used the notebook for restaurants and shopping. Our last day was so much fun at the market on Rue de Levis. Merci beaucoup from very happy guests!

Paris Perfect Pour Nous

My husband and I are very particular about where we stay when we travel which we do often for our business. For vacations we are even pickier and seldom consider apartments because we don't like the feeling of living someone else's life. Joel and Valerie have created an elegant space that makes it easy to feel is your own. The decor is tastefully simple with a few carefully chosen appointments — easy on the eyes with beautiful daylight and one doesn't have to gather up a bunch of tchotchkes and hide them under the bed. It's a good bed with lovely laundered white sheets and duvet. There is a great bathtub for soaking after 10 hour walks and plenty of towels available. The kitchen is adequate for making simple meals and taking advantage of all the delicious prepared foods available in the nearby shops and farmer's market. We were very happy with the neighborhood beginning with the patisserie directly across the street that makes it easy to wake up and get coffee and croissants toute de suite! There are several nice restaurants within a few blocks for those days when you've gone far afield and want your second outing to be closer to home. This was our 3rd trip to Paris and we were seeking to pretend we live there. We definitely got our experience. While it would be nice to try another arrondissement next time we find we are yearning to return to our "home" so everybody: please take good care of it!

I'm leaving tomorrow morning and I could cry. My goal was to spend two weeks in Paris and finally know it. I met that goal. This location was great. The neighborhood is very safe. The owner's pictures represent the apartment perfectly. Best: Coffee in the apartment every morning after running across the street to the boulangerie. They were very gracious. No matter how much I practiced I still butchered my morning requests. Not to worry; I was fed like a queen anyway. Second best is staring at the decorative moldings on the ceilings. They are so beautiful. Worst: Well, aside from leaving, I will confess the dryer portion of the washer/dryer combination and I never got on very well. It had to be something I was doing because sane people would not design something so ridiculous. I lived. I hung the second load to dry instead. There are a lot of Paris options. This one will not disappoint. I travel the world for fun several times a year and have plowed through a number of VRBO offerings. This apartment is exactly what you had in mind. I promise.

My French Home experience

The apartment was in a great location. It was very neat and clean. The furniture is a little old, but clean and very nice. The kitchen is great, very easy to cook and get around in. Their recommendations for touring are very helpful. We walked everywhere and it was easy to get around or get a cab for further distances. The shops & cafes on the walk to the Champs Elysee (most attractions) are really nice and it is a comfortable walk. The Levi market and the other markets close to the apartment are fabulous and you can get just about anything you might need there. I highly recommend this apartment in Paris, you will not be disappointed.

One point of clarification: Our apartment’s sofas, chairs, armchairs, ottoman, tables, lamps, rugs, headboard and drapery were purchased new in 2006 following an extensive renovation that same year which added 21st century amenities to our apartment’s elegant and comfortable Parisian ambiance. The mirrors and chest are antique pieces in mint condition. As one can see on the pictures, while our furniture might be considered more classic than modern, it is certainly not old but timeless, and purposefully in keeping with our apartment’s 130-year history, character and architectural details.

Thank you very much for all your hospitality. Margaret and I enjoyed the apartment very much. The blue couch was a personal attraction for me because of the view that it offered. This flat was perfect for our first visit to Paris. We had our wedding ceremony and honeymoon in Paris and used the flat as our "home base". It had an exquisite charm that was unmatched by anywhere else that we saw. With a bakery across the street, a market around the corner and two metro stations nearby, it could not have been more perfect. We will definitely be returning to Paris and would love to stay here again.

The apartment was a true gem and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We could not believe how nice and quaint the apartment and building was. It was a dream come true for my wife. We had an amazing time and will cherish it for a lifetime. It was the storybook honeymoon for us and we appreciate your accommodations and help and service to us. We already miss the couch and balcony window, we spent many moments there enjoying the Paris views in between our visits to the sites. Hopefully someday, we can visit again. A true luxury apartment that was the perfect for our 7 night honeymoon. The apartment is open and light with plenty of space for two people. It is even more beautiful than the pictures show. The neighborhood is full of great places and very close to a metro stop. Owners were great to work with and gave great suggestions for things to do in Paris. The apartment was the perfect place to relax after walking all day in Paris. We will definitely stay here again.

Perfection in Paris

This trip was a surprise from my husband for our anniversary and He picked this Beautiful Pied-a-terre in the heart of the Right Bank for us. He knows I am very particular as to where I call home - even if it is, for a week. It was everything and more, as the kind, considerate and helpful owners described. It was more charming and beautiful then the pictures showed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of closet space and airy. The Parisians were really helpful and kind to us in all that we did and experienced as we do not speak French. We will be returning with the hope that we can stay here once again for the reasons I listed and for the location, as it was within walking distance to many sights, shopping and restaurants. Oh yes, and taxi's!

Superb apartment in one of the best locations of all. Very quiet, yet located within steps of some of the most recognizable Paris landmarks. The apartment is tastefully (and professionally) decorated with all the right touches, to make you understand what a pied-a-terre in Paris would be like. Valerie and Joel and wonderfully gracious hosts and we cannot wait to return.

We had a wonderful time at this beautifully furnished and well-kept apartment. We'd love to be able to stay there a couple of times of year - what a pity that we live so far from Paris! The apartment was extremely comfortable and homely, and so central to everything. We were surprised that it is very quiet, given that it's in the middle of Paris. We're so glad that we decided to spend 12 days there as it gave us plenty of time to see the sights, as well as time to just enjoy being Parisiens (for a while at least). Everything was within easy walking distance or just a Metro ride away. We really appreciated that the owners were always available by email or text message to answer questions and provide information before and during our stay.

We've just returned from 10 fabulous days in Paris. The apartment was the perfect place to spend our early mornings and evenings - it is clean, comfortable, well equiped and just as beautiful as the photos. The owner provides great instructions for operating the appliances, restaurant recommendations and neighborhood information in English. The apartment is very convenient to good shopping and metro stations. The neighborhood shop keepers were friendly and helpful - even with our very limited French! We hope to return soon.

We had a fabulous week in Paris using this elegant apartment as our home base. The decor is lovely, neutral, and peaceful. The space is just right for two people. We had a very comfortable ten days at the apartment. It was well furnished, and we loved sitting in the bay window and enjoying the street view days and evenings. The pictures of this apartment doesn't do justice, it was picture perfect,bright and very clean, which is always my biggest complaint, I will definitely rent here again. Owners were very helpful with our booking and information about the area, great location, can't wait to return!
