Summer is too short. We had a wonderful time at the cottage. You had all we needed right there. Couldn't believe how much higher the lake was from last year though. We are considering booking for two weeks next year. Are you taking return bookings yet or when will you be?? Do you know yet if the fee will be the same?? Had some family that wanted to come up but with not having a full weekend they were unable to, so we are batting around the idea of two weeks next year.
I just hope the renters take care of your property and treat it as if it were there own so it stays as nice as it was this year!! Looking forward to the game room to!!

Just wanted to follow up on our rental. Overall, we were very pleased with the property…it was everything you advertised it to be. Also, I found you to be very easy to work with and very responsive…so thanks for that as well. As another piece of feedback (take it for what it is worth…you get what you pay for!!!), your property manager seemed to be on the "ball". She followed up a couple of times to ensure everything was ok and to ask if we were enjoying our stay. She also offered that we could call her if we needed advice for things to do given the less than perfect weather. From my experience renting other places and being less than impressed with property managers, Kim seems to be focused on customer service…good for you.
The only downside to the week was the weather…we didn't enjoy our first good sunset until Friday!!! Obviously, can't do anything about the weather and we certainly made the best of the situation…the weather Friday afternoon and Saturday was near perfect.
Finally, my family and I are moving to China next month. Despite the long distance, we are planning to vacation in Northern Michigan next summer and will definitely consider your place. Are there weeks in July / Aug 2010 that are already booked or is it wide open at this time?

Even with the frigid Michigan winter, the views and sunset from your enormous deck were incredibly beautiful. We saw fox, deer, and possum from the deck. The cross country skiing right outside your doors was invigorating. We loved the fully stocked kitchen, the great supply of movies, wood burning stove and my husband's favorite; the endless hot showers provided by the tankless water heater. We look foward to returning this summer. Our deposit is already in its way.

Why the Owner Chose Charlevoix
After the twins were born we grew to a family of seven, no longer fitting in our family's home at vacation time. That prompted us to we start renting lake front homes. The last few years we have been disappointed in the quality of the homes we were renting. Some were directly on the road, dangerous for young children and quite noisey. Others were dirty and had uncomfortable beds and out of date furnishings. We decided that maybe we could find a place of our own to buy and prehaps rent out to others. After looking for over a year, we found the perfect place!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We found this beautiful property, away from the road, surrounded by beautiful forests, and directly on Grand Traverse Bay! Many houses were ruled out due to the poor state they were in or due to the rocky beaches they were on. But this house had a beautiful sandy beach and no steps down to the water. We are close to Charlevoix and Elk Rapids, golf courses are right down the road, and there are no main roads near the house. We have plenty of parking for our family and friends and a barn with a loft that will eventually be perfect for a game room. The beach is private and one can walk for miles in either direction. It is easy to go mushroom hunting, bike riding, skiiing outside our cottage in the winter, and hunting right down the road at Antrim Natural Preserve. The huge deck has beautiful views of the water where we can watch the kids while relaxing or barbecuing. This place is heaven!
