When we built this unique house, we envisioned a tree house to complement the beautiful forest from which it rose. This house is perfect for those who are adventurous and appreciate excellent modern Mexican design, as well as an intriguing mix of luxury and rustic elegance.
The house is built from cement, stone, bamboo, and wood in a primal curl which embraces a large terraced patio in back and forms large flowing planters with cascading vegetation which maximizes ocean, mountain, and village views from every floor. This is a very unique and dramatic home, though not well suited for very young children due to open style, winding staircases, and heights.
Three stories high with a rooftop deck it rests on a hill, towering over the homes below. It is open on all sides to capture views of both the Bay of Tenacatita and the jungle forests that surround the village.
Just up from the elementary school and a short walk to the beach and town center it is conveniently located yet is nestled in a hillside away from any distractions if peace is desired.
Both bedrooms have folding glass doors to close for air conditioned comfort, although this is rarely needed due to ocean breezes.The bedroom on the top floor is calculated to give you views of the ocean and surrounding countryside from both the bed and the tub for that awe factor we all crave on vacation.Bedroom on first floor has large bathroom, walk-in closet, and private shower looking out to garden.
Main living space (living, dining, kitchen, half bath) on second floor has a palapa roof and a "tree house" feel as it has open walls to the front and back, allowing the breezes to flow through and a strong connection with the jungle.

- Off the beaten path this laid back fishing village is surrounded by jungle and offers warm Mexican charm with dirt streets and wide vacant beaches. The beaches right in town are so clear that you can see schools of large tuna and sea horses swimming within walking distance to the shore. Town abutts a mangrove reserve with huge crocodiles that tend to congregate at the river's edge. Hills are verdant forests of vegetation which surround the village. Great for a horseback riding tour with a local ranch hand. (No tour packages here.) The presence of a sprinkling of European and North American nationals makes for great dining options in town. This town is not for the condo/all inclusive crowd. However it is nestled between two exclusive high end resorts within boating and walking distance, for easy access to luxury accommodations and activities. A testament to it's great location.
