Get away from it all and relax. This peaceful Montana cabin is located at a "special place" on Spoon Lake just steps away from Glacier National Park. Fifteen minutes to Glacier International Airport, thirty minutes to Flathead Lake-the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi and just minutes away from the small towns of Columbia Falls and Whitefish.
Experience Montana in this cozy cabin on the lake. Spoon Lake is a beautiful and quite lake with abundant wildlife. Relax under the cedars on the hammock and listen to the loons call. Fish from the private dock or take the row boat out to the deeper waters to catch Cutthroat, Rainbow or Brook trout. Swim on a warm afternoon, pick huckleberries or take a hike on forest service land.
This is what a few of our past guests have said about our little cabin on the lake...
"You have a blessed place here & it has been a main part of our real fairy tale." God bless you, Steven & Vickie
"The wildlife has been something to behold! Seven Black Bears, two Mountain Goats, Deer and the majestic beauty of the Loons! We will never forget." Carl & Lola
"I love this place! The lake is so peaceful and good fishing too! It took awhile to find the spot but we found it and caught a mess of fish (5 Trout, 1 Bass, and more Perch and Sunfish than I can count). It's beautiful on the lake and I hope I can visit again someday when I have kids." Alan G.
"We experienced abundant wildlife at the lake: Loons, Mallards, Hares, Osprey, and Hummingbirds. The family of Loons greeted us every morning. The fire pit outside was tremendous for grilling tasty dinners and making use of the marshmallow skewers for dessert! We can only hope that your stay in Montana is as memorable and spiritual as ours has been. We are saddened as we pack our belongings because this is truly God's country." Sincerely Travis & Katie
"We had such a great time here-you made us feel right at home. The cabin is so clean & comfy. This little corner of the world is truly paradise. The lake, the cabin, the whole setting is just so peaceful & relaxing. We can't wait to come back." Wendy & Eddy
"Spoon Lake is a dream. Beautiful views, enchanting Loons, heavenly scents in the air and the sky seems so big! Thank you so much for providing such a lovely cabin & for sharing your piece of heaven. We had a new adventure everyday but particularly enjoyed returning here." Mary, Greg, Alexis & Conner

Loved Your Cabin

Bill and Eliska, We loved your cabin. It was what you described on the website and more. It was well-equipped, comfortable, and very fun to be in. You have the place well supplied with towels, blankets, soap, kitchen tools, pans, and outdoor seating. We found it easy to get ready in the morning and hang out at night. We had one fire (mostly we were too tired at night). The loons were wonderful--such a pretty sound in the morning and at night. The bug spray was helpful and we used it on one hike (Bowman lake). The beds were very comfortable. It was just perfect for us. We liked that you had comfortable places to sit and read. Thanks again. We loved the view from the cabin. It was so close to Glacier!!! We were there everyday. We went on a wonderful rafting trip with Great Northern. We did an overnight and they supplied tents, sleeping bags, wet suits, and lots of delicious food (steak on the grill, brie and honey with pears and apples...)

We had a terrific stay at the Aspen Shores cabin. It was every bit as serene as I'd hoped. The lake is beautiful, the loons haunting, and the cabin cozy and very well-stocked with supplies. We had a very large bear (possibly a grizzly on the basis of what I thought was a shoulder hump, 7-8' height, and massive scat) that came through the area at 3 AM one night. It was exhilarating to be just a couple feet away from this tremendous creature and I was more than a little thankful that we were NOT camping that night. On the hottest day, we did end up using the AC, but I wonder if open windows and a good ceiling ventilation fan would be more than enough for keeping the loft cool at night -- but I imagine that others would have different views on this. We really enjoyed renting the cabin.

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your cabin. The combination of Glacier National Park and Spoon Lake was tough to beat. Relaxing on the lake was a treat with the breeding Loons becoming an addiction to me as I could watch and listen to them for hours (look for images on www.outdoorviews.com soon). Their calls echoed across the water and it is so thrilling. The experience of watching and listening to the loons was well worth the visit in itself. The cabin was great with everything we needed. The bench on the lake was my solitude and the still mornings were a blessing.. We normally do not return to the same cabin but this will be the exception.

We had to leave the cabin at 5:45 AM and by the time I thought about signing the guest book it was just too late. The cabin was great. We really appreciated the way you had it stocked with everything we could possibly need - fire wood (and kindling), trail maps and guides, fishing gear, binoculars and even bear spray! Our boys, ages 9 and 11, fished from the dock every evening, catching perch and an occasional trout, until we forced them to come in at bed time. Very convenient to Glacier and very convenient to town. Would definitely love to come back!

We had are really fantastic time at Aspen Shores Cabin on Spoon Lake. Our boys loved fishing, boating and hiking on the trail around the lake. We saw beaver dams and lodges, turtles, dear, eagles, loons, ducks. The people next door saw a Moose near the cabin earlier this year. The cabin was very clean and cozy, just what we wanted for our Montana vacation. Everything was provided for us. It was very relaxing just sitting out in front of the cabin, in the hammock and listening to the loons.
