Our wonderful stay in Paradise

We just got back to Maui after our awesome 6 night vacation on Da Big Island. We stayed at this beautifully appointed place at the Fairway Villas, with our 2 kids and a newborn, and we had plenty of room to spare. We felt right at home, and way more relaxed than if we were at a big hotel. The owner had so much Aloha and she bent over backwards to take care of us. The place was immaculate, and peaceful. We loved the community pool and used it every day, after the beach which is close by. Check out the Marriott nearby and Roy's Restaurant. The room rate was very reasonable. We highly recommend this place! Aloha!!

Money down the drain!!!

Disappointed with our stay at Linda's unit, was not even cleaned upon arrival which she knew when we were coming, she didn't inform cleaner, (when she talked to cleaner was told to clean unit really fast per Linda (she was at unit day before) to me lack of communication on her part, was also told about filming in prior reservation and was told ok, now she is saying didn't remember it was mentioned, HELLO!!! so we had to cancel the event and was very embarrased with situation, sent her pictures of dirty bathroom, refrig full of opened food, trash can full, no sheets on beds also hairs on bed, and toilet, told her to send cleaning person in to clean, sure she cleaned and made the beds but no vacuum done, towels were all used and dirty, no garbage bags available, not enough toilet paper, (we go and stay at other condos service and cleaning is excellant), but this one was horrible, for sure not staying here ever again!!!! and wouldn't even recommand this to friends! talked to manager on site and was told he would give refund with situation, told Linda what manager said, her reply, "sorry can only give back your security deposit, and if we wanted will give one nite free after paying for first nite the next time", This unit is not recommanded to me, terrible vacation and money down the drain....

Owner response:I neglected to tell my house-keeper that these guests were arriving early. I called as soon as the guests advised me of the problem. The housekeeper was there within one hour of their arrival and finished up by 4:00pm which is the standard check-in. Due to this inconvenience, I have advised the guests that when they return, I would waive the housekeeping fee and allow them to stay only two night which they have requested.

Hi Linda I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed your condo! Your location is fantastic-very quiet with beautiful views of the golf course and lake. We loved the fact that we could walk everywhere, whether it was to the beach for swimming or sunsets, shopping, or to hike petroglyphs-all was close! Our favourite spot for sure I (other than Hapuna beach) was your spacious lanai-we spent a lot of time there eating meals, relaxing and enjoying the resident gecko! Your pictures do not do this condo justice! The kitchen is fantastic, we love to eat in so we really appreciated this, we had everything we needed and more! The master bedroom was a great getaway and beds were comfortable all around! We also really appreciated was the all ammenities, you thought of everything from beach towels and chairs to spices-thank you! One thing I would have liked to have seen is a guest book or info binder-this not only connects you with the owner a bit but gives great inside tips on favourite attractions, restaurants etc. I found your book Hawaii Revealed very helpful however, and probably read it back to front a few times! Good Location,..... but condo not well-maintained!

Our holiday to the big island was wonderful!! Lots to see and do. The location of Fairways Villas is perfect for accessing shopping, tourist attractions and the "A" Beach (which is beautiful). However, the condo itself is not maintained very well. Cleaning is questionable, ...... plugged tub drain, heavy calcium deposits in the bathrooms, flat pillows and area rug is stained, carpets need cleaning, etc. I could keep going on, but my point is if you are just going to Hawaii and looking for somewhere to stay and don't care about cleanliness, this place is perfect. Also, the items mentioned that are available at the condo, like boogy boards (only one), snorkeling gear (kids, Wal-mart quality) and beach shoes (3 pair - adult and two toddlers) are all items that have been left by previous guests. They are is poor condition. We wouldn't stay there again. Linda, the owner, we found to be lacking in interest or responsibility for the condition of her condo.

Owner response:I was not advised about tub problem until Renee departed otherwise I would have fixed the problem within 6 hours. According to my housekeeper who takes care of my unit, there was not a problem before Renee's arrival. In any case, after reading this terrible review, I have checked and tossed some of the toys other guests have left, have purchased a few extra "HARD" pillows so guest have a choice. I am having the carpets cleaned early March, which I do every year. This is the very first complaint I have had in 4 years. My place is well maintained as verified by other guests. I do not lack in interest OR responsibility for the condition of my condo. I love my place as do my guests with this one exception. Mahalo, Linda (owner)

We spent a week the last of September in Linda's condo. Her pictures and description of the condo accurate and were exactly what we found upon arrival. It was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We spent many hours on the lanai -- in the mornings before the sun hit us. Ate meals there everyday. Loved watching the golfers -- had two golf ball hit the lanai. The shops were great for all our needs. We didn't use much of the beach stuff but was thankful that it was there. This was our 4th trip to the Big Island and Linda's condo suited us perfectly. Much better than staying at the Hilton. Linda is a very delightful lady and I enjoyed our talks. No complaints here. We will not doubt plan another trip there next year. A big "Thanks" to you, Linda

Beautiful condo

I recently stayed in Linda's beautiful 2-storey condo with my partner and 8-year old son. The condo was perfect for our needs - spotlessly clean, spacious, well-equipped, and located within walking distance to the shops, (great) beach and other resort amenities. The condo is also conveniently located almost next to the infinity swimming pool, barbeque and fitness facilities. There are TV's in all three bedrooms, and a luxurious en-suite bathroom in the spacious master suite. Linda also provides beach towels, snorkel equipment and boogie boards, as well as board games to keep the kids occupied. The resort itself was great, with good shops and restaurant facilities, and with easy access to the beautiful beach and coastline.

Such a great place to stay. The Villa is just beautiful, granite everywhere, spotless, on the golf course, with beautiful landscaping. My wife and i stayed with our 5 month old son for 10 days and we just loved it. Linda even had a play pin delivered for our son to stay in. THe closet was full of beach stuff, snorkels, umbrellas, beach mats, beach shoes.... We were able to walk to starbucks every morning and even to the beach a few times. With all our stuff it was easier to drive though. We went to many beaches, north and south and still found that "A" beach was our favorite. The closest beach was the greatest! After our visit I too am looking to buy a place in Waikoloa. What a beautiful vacation!!!! Thank you Linda. James

Exceptional value on this immaculate vacation paradise

This was our first time to Hawaii, and staying at your beautifully appointed condo made the experience exceptional. It was conveniently located for our day trips to other parts of the island (including Hapuna Beach, Hawi, Kapoho tidepools -- amazing!) and had all the amenities to make our vacation perfect: beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, games, and books. Top that off with a fully equipped kitchen and generously sized rooms, we really felt spoiled. You have wonderful attention to detail. The condo and surrounding community was private, quiet, and peaceful. This place was the best, and we would love to come back!
