Our family of nine (six adults and three kids) spent a fabulous week in Chincoteague in August. Island Bliss was perfect for us. It is such a comfortable house and lends itself to relaxation. There was plenty of space for everyone, and even with nine people we never felt crowded at all. The open floorplan made it very easy to cook, hang out, and keep an eye on the kids. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and the outdoor grill is a nice option. We also liked having two TVs, one with DVD, so the kids could watch their movies in the sunroom while the adults chilled out with a glass of wine in the living room. The kids loved the pool, it's fairly shallow so they could stand everywhere; perfect for our 6 and 7 yr olds. Since the beach is a ten-minute drive away in Assateague, it was really nice to have the pool so the kids could blow off some steam and play outside. We all enjoyed using the bikes that are available to renters -- it's the best way to get around the island and a really nice perk for guests. The house's location is also great; it's close to everything but very quiet. Island Bliss is a great house, and we have already recommended it to others. We wouldn't hesitate to rent it again for another wonderful Chincoteague vacation.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay on Chincoteague Island, and Island Bliss is a wonderful home to stay in. The owners were fantastic at keeping us up to date via email prior to our stay and very willing to answer any questions we had. The house was lovely and "homey". The pool was extremely chlorine-smelling...not sure if the pump was working properly. Other than that, the only thing that would have made it better was a rocking chair on the front porch Haha! We loved the Island, the beach on Assateague, and parasailing! Definitely recommend this property.

We have just returned from Island Bliss and it was worth the drive from Canada. I have been to the Island many times but this is the first time we have rented a home as we normally stay in hotels. This is definately the way to go - the house is clean and spacious (lots of room for our family - me and my husband had our own space while our teenage boys had theirs). The kitchen was very well stocked, the pool was great and I enjoyed my bike ride around the Island every morning. The house is in a perfect location and is close to everything. If you have questions - just asked the owners - they are extremely helpful. The only bad thing was our time went by too fast! Can't wait to come back and enjoy the house again.

weren't sure what we were getting into since we left ny after dark, pulled in around 2am. completely buzzed, by mosquitoes that is, turns out it hadn't rained in weeks until we were driving down. the little buggers were the only downside to our stay. the house was more than adequate for our family of four, could have had double that and still had privacy. the beaches are beautiful, the bay-side even better for youngsters to explore and learn about the natural world. the oysters were kick-ass! clean, no evidence of bed bugs!! the owner was attentive and helpful. i would love to go back walk the charming streets of downtown and get some awesome hot sauce at the Vietnamese restaurant. total pleasure. wish i could be there again today!!!!!
Owner response:This is our 3rd season renting the home,And each yr. we look at ways to improve the home and make it more comfortable for those who are renting it. We have been working on the landscaping, due to all the over grown foliage as well as replacing lose or rotted decking as needed around the pool. The pool liner was replaced on our 1st season there as well. The previous owner supplied bikes to the renters, which I thought was extremely nice, due to not having the room with packing everything. The bikes have been upgraded with a few newer ones, wtth appox. 10 in all. There is an outside grill for cookouts,And a firebowl to sit around with your family in the evening. Each and every season,we look at adding or upgraded things to make everyone's stay more enjoyable.

We absolutely loved the house. It is very comfortable and we immediately felt at home. The location is on a quiet street without a lot of traffic, but close to everything on Chincoteague. The pool and sunroom were our favorite parts of the house. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

This was our first visit to Chincoteague, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Island Bliss! We loved sitting on the front porch in the early mornings, and swimming and eating out on the large back deck. The kitchen is well stocked with items you need for cooking, and the bedrooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The owners were very helpful in directing us toward places to see and restaurants to try during our stay ("Etta's" was our favorite). We loved being within walking distance of the fairgrounds and visiting the ponies after their swim from Assateague Island; we also walked the 1 mile to Memorial Park, to see the ponies make the swim. The bikes provided by the owners were taken out and used daily, as this is one of the best ways to explore the island. We are already looking forward to coming back next year!

This was our second year at Island Bliss. We felt so lucky to have found this great house! Our family of six had plenty of room to relax and refresh. The pool and decks were perfect for a night swim and afternoon crab feast. We loved waking up with our coffee on the front porch, and used the bikes daily for rides around town. A great vacation!

The home was comfortable, clean, well furnished, very accommodating, and not to mention beautiful. It was better than we could have imagined. The house was conveniently located close to the beach and shops, being less then 5 minute drive. On a scale of one to ten, I would give this house a 10+.

This is our second stay, we just had to come back to your comfortable and well equipped house. We enjoyed the use of the bikes in tootling about town after returning from the beach, picking crabs on the deck, playing cards on the kitchen table while the children watched television in the adjacent sunroom. Island Bliss is a lovely, centrally located spot for a family vacation. Thank you for having us!

We found the home excellent for our three generational visit. The grandkids loved the pool and the grandparents (who used the first floor bedroom) could get up early and have coffee pool side and watch the neighbor's kittens romp in the yard. Everything was exactly as pictured or even better. A very comfortable home well furnished in a lovely village. (If you like bakery goods check out Sugarbakers.) We thoroughly loved our stay.
