We had a wonderful stay at Sol Blau this Spring Break with our family and a second family. We each have 3 kids. Alejandro the owner was great, very helpful and attentive. It is nice to have an owner close by vs just a property manager - he really had a vested interest in making our stay pleasant. The villa is clean, chic, has great views, and is in a private gated community which felt very safe. It is in a great location, I recommend renting a golf cart if you don't have a car, but it is short walk into town if not. It is up a hill so not that easy with toddlers and babies, particularly as the pool is elevated, but it is a very cool property and ideal for older kids, romantic getaways with other couples, or girls/boys vacation.

My family of five (three teenagers) just spent a delightful week at the Villa Sol Blau. The villa sits up a modest hill walking distance from the north side of the beach in a private gated compound that includes three other villas. The Villa Sol Blau is exquisitely designed (the owner is the architect) and offers four spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have decks each with its own gorgeous view. On the main floor there is a large, well appointed kitchen that flows out to a patio including a small dipping pool - perfect for late afternoon cooling off. We ate in most nights thanks to the delicious food cooked by the housekeeper, Lara. Well worth the money! The villa has everything you could want or need has been considered. Alejandro is easy to work with and very gracious. We can't wait to go back!

This is an absolutely wonderful place. If you think the picture above looks nice, well...it barely does it justice -- it's beautiful. Clean, very spacious, incredible ocean view, close to town and the beach. Perfect for 4 couples. Great kitchen for entertaining and a fantastic patio to relax in the sun. Highly recommended!

Our 10-night stay at Villa Sol Blau could not have been more perfect! The house is an architectural gem, with a tastefully appointed open-air concept. The separate, private bedrooms were extremely comfortable, each with their own bathroom. We most enjoyed gathering for communal dinners under breathtaking sunsets in the modern kitchen. Our housekeeper, Laura, was incredibly kind and helpful and Alejandro was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the very beginning. We can't wait to return and would recommend Villa Sol Blau to anyone looking for the most relaxing stay Sayulita has to offer.

We were in Sayulita from Dec. 27th until Jan 7th 2012 and we had the greatest time! This Villa is BEAUTIFUL with all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen is very well appointed with every utensil and dish you can imagine. Alejandro was at our disposal and helpful in arranging transportation to and from the airport via a taxi company. You do not need a car in Sayulita, you can walk everywhere. Just know you are on a bit of a hill and this could be a problem for someone with physical disabilities. I ran almost every day in Sayulita (on the beach and in the village) and felt very safe there. We actually saw whales from the kitchen!!! Next time we go there, we will bring binoculars for a closer view of them. Overall a very successful and fun family vacation! We will be back!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sol Blau with three other couples and loved every minute of our stay! The house was very spacious and each room offered a beautiful view of the town and the ocean. We enjoyed a specatcular sunset from the infinity pool each night followed by great dinners that we made in the gourmet kitchen. The entire house was clean and well maintained, and we adored the housekeeper, Laura! She was so friendly and took great care of us! The owner and architect of Sol Blau, Alejandro, was very responsive via email, easy to work with and provided the incredible service before, during and after our stay. Before our arrival Alejandro contacted me to inform us that a hurricane was headed towards the area so that we could make the appropriate arrangements if we needed to change our plans. I truly appreciated him reaching out to us, and we were so happy that the weather changed its course and we were able to go on our trip! The stunning views, gorgeous house and impeccable service will definitely bring us back to Sol Blau in the future!

This villa lived up to the beautiful photos. Seven friends shared this house to celebrate some 40th birthdays. Each bedroom had its own private bath and terrace. The pool and patio area comfortably allowed all of us to lounge together. We all were impressed with the modern kitchen and cooked most of our meals at home. The staff was great and kept the house very clean regardless of how hard we tried to mess it up. The owner, Alejandro, was very helpful and a genuinely gracious host. The views of the ocean and sunsets couldn't have been more spectacular. The house is a 5-7 minute walk to the beach and 10-15 minutes to town. The house is up on a steep hill but it was no problem walking day or night. I will definitely rent this villa again.

We stayed at the Villa Sol Blau recently for a week, and had all the rooms filled with either family or friends all week. Every single person in our group was in amazement of the view, the beautiful architecture, and the gracious oversight by Alejandro, the owner and architect of the house. The kitchen is wonderful and modern, and along with the outside deck was the center for all of us all week. We had a meal catered one night and all of us enjoyed a seated dinner on the deck overlooking the lights of Sayulita, and was one of our favorite memories of our time there. Many of the guests that came by our house asked about the name for renting, they were very interested in trying to get a reservation there the next time they come back. In all, it was a wonderful experience staying at the Villa Sol Blau, and will certainly be calling Alejandro for reservations when we return. Mark

We rented Villa Sol Blau with another family over Spring Break -- it was perfect! There were four adults and four children (ages 5-7) and we all had a wonderful time. Alejandro, the owner, was extremely responsive to our emails in advance of the trip. Everything was just as he described -- actually it was even better. The house is lovely. The pool is small, but definitely large enough for the kids to swim laps and the adults to cool off. The rooms are all spacious and tastefully decorated. And, the town of Sayulita is the perfect balance of being tourist-friendly without being touristy. We hope to be able to come back again soon!

We had the most incredible time at Sol Blau. My husband and our friends (6 total) stayed here for 5 days. The pictures do not do it justice. The house is very clean and really large. All of the rooms have a great view of the ocean. We saw whales from the patio! Town is just a short walk and the beach and jungle are very close. We could hear the waves from our bedroom. Alejandro is the owner of the house and he was extremely nice and very helpful. It may feel a little scary wiring money to Mexico for the deposit and stay, but rest assured he is very professional and we had no surprises. Sayulita has everything you need and you do not need to rent a car. The kitchen is fully stocked but we walked into town and ate fish tacos almost every night. I highly recommend a stay here. It would be great for friends, family or a romantic vacation.

I stayed at Villa Sol Blau for a week with my wife, daughter and her husband, my son and his fiancee. This place was fantastic! If you like Art and Architecture you will love it. The house is decorated with nice works of art. The design of the house is very creative. Lots of interesting materials and detail. All week long I would discover new and interesting views whether it was by the pool, in the kitchen, in the living room, in the bedroom, or even in the shower, this house never failed to entertain and move me. We did not have a car, and I found walking to and from the beach and the town enjoyable. The house is situated on a hill to take advantage of some great ocean views, and the climb was not strenuous for me. Towards the end of the week some in our group started to wish we had a golf cart for those late night walks back from town after a few drinks and dinner. So, we rented one for the last two days and they really enjoyed the time it saved in traveling around. I, on the other hand continued to walk everywhere and found the pace most enjoyable and not too strenuous - earn your margarita! The house is built on a hillside, and everything is verticle, so you must be able to climb stairs. The entry is where the car port is, you climb up one level to the pool and kitchen, then another level to the living room and one bedroom, then another level to the other three bedrooms, then a fifth level to the rooftop palapas (which was not finished during our stay). The owner was very responsive to some minor issues we had with the house during our stay. I would love to return to this house one day........

My fiancee, two close friends, and I stayed at Villa Sol Blau back in February, and had an historic vacation. Alejandro greeted us on our arrival, and was gracious, kind, and incredibly helpful. The house is an architectural gem, the views exquisite, and the location perfect. It was far enough from the bustle to provide privacy, and close enough to allow easy access to the beach and town square. The kitchen was beautiful, and allowed us to dine like kings throughout our entire stay. Admittedly, one of our party is a classically trained french chef (you can ask Alejandro about the fish stew), but the high-end appliances and extensive kitchen equipment certainly didn't hurt. The bedrooms were spacious, the natural light invigorating, and the picturesque sunrises and ocean views in the early morning nearly indescribable. Honestly, we could not have envisioned a better vacation. We would recommend this house to anyone, unless it was the week that we were planning to use it again.
Owner response:We really appreciate all the good reviews we've had since we began renting the house, we will keep improving and maintaining the Villa in the best conditions possible so we can give all of you and our new guests the best vacation ever! Thank you all Villa Sol Blau staff

Amazing, amazing home! I celebrated my 30th birthday there, and couldn't ask for anything more. The pictures don't do it justice. All the amenities you need, close walk to the beach, quite, secluded, beautiful views. The only thing I would mention is there are a lot of stairs, so it may not be good for elderly or injured. You would be silly to stay anywhere else! Emily, Danielle, Mark & Daniel Boston, MA/San Fransisco, CA

My six friends and their two young children and I stayed at this lovely house in January 2011. We loved the fact that the house was a few mintues walk away from the main town: it's not too far to be difficult with small kids, but not too close to be loud and crowded feeling in the hustle and bustle of town. The house layout is inventive and allows for lots of privacy in a large group. We loved the large kitchen with its view over the pool to the distant palm trees and ocean. Our hosts Alejandro and Brenda were welcoming, helpful, and responsible. The pool is too small for laps, but perfect for a quick dip to cool off. The kids loved it and we had to drag them away. I would recommend this property wholeheartedly.

We just returned from a fantastic vacation in Sayulita, and it was a pleasure to stay at Villa Sol Blau. The house has amazing views, and the soft sound of the surf can be heard in all the rooms of the house. During the day, we'd open the floor to ceiling glass doors and enjoy the pleasant breezes. The pool was perfect. The house has all the appliances you might need, as well as spices for cooking. Alejandro was very friendly and helpful, offering to stock the house with anything we might need prior to our arrival, and offering to make reservations for a taxi service to pick us up from the airport. The house is as described, with a short walk to the beach and the town. We didn't have a rental car, and we got around just fine. Sayulita is a gem of a town. We'll be recommending this town and this villa to our friends and family.

We just returned home after spending a week in Sayulita at this villa. Upon walking in, the villa was breathtaking and even better than the pictures! The view is stunning, the beach is 3 minutes away, the main part of town is a 10 minute walk , far enough away that the villa is nice and quiet. The set up of this house is excellent for a group as each of the four bedrooms has a great ensuite so everyone has their own space. The details that Alejandro put into his design were very much appreciated. The artwork is an added bonus to be around. Alejandro is a great guy and goes out of his way to ensure you have a great time and enjoy his house. This holiday will stay with us all for along time and having such a beautiful place to stay is a big part of it. Thankyou Alejandro for sharing your house with us! You are going to love this villa and I recommend it highly!! There are great hiking trails to get to different beaches that are to the north and to the south of Sayulita. If you are doing some excercise when you are there , you will see a cobblestone hill just before you get to the villa. We called it Cardiac hill and it was a great workout for hill repeats. Not everyone is into that but those who are will appreciate it!!!!

A few weeks ago - myself and a group of friends rented Alejandro's home to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. It was truly incredible!!! Having never been to Sayulita - we had to make a lot of guesses when booking our trip & honestly, we were a bit nervous before arriving. Experience has revealed that pictures can be deceiving. Completely not the case here. In fact, the pictures (though stunning) do not reveal all the beauty of this unbelievable home. It is better than you can imagine. Genuinely magnificent! I am willing to wager you will fall in love. You will appreciate the location to town & beach, the fact that you can hear & view the ocean from EVERY room, the open air environment, the kitchen (the kitchen is a dream!) and of course Alejandro! Alejandro made us feel welcome immediately and throughout our stay. We had such an amazing time. We'll definitely be back.
Owner response:This a great review, thank you very much!

Villa Sol Blau is an awesome house and Alejandro is a terrific host! The property itself is gorgeous with probably the most beautiful views in all of Sayulita. We rented the house for a week with two other couples and had a blast. We hardly left the place while we were there and are already planning a trip for next year!
