This was the most amazing house/property I've ever set foot inside. I proposed to my partner here and it was the most magical place for it! Stunning architecture, art, and amenities. Highly recommend for a once in a lifetime experience! One warning - you'll never want to leave once you arrive (skip the sightseeing!).Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

This is a truly spectacular home, an architectural work of art, with a lovely interior design, fabulous grounds and outdoor amenities and every practical need provided for. Once you arrive, there is really no need to leave the property (and you won't want to leave!), even though there are beautiful drives, walks, etc. in the area. so bring plenty of your favorite food and beverages and plan to luxuriate right here.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: So glad to hear you didn't want to leave, it really is a special home for a romantic retreat. Jenner Vacation Rentals

Jan 2, 2011 - I take my shoes off before entering and the moment my toes touch the heated floor I just melt right in. What a warm welcome! Crane House instantly captures my senses and refuses to let me go. Visually Crane House is an architectural wonder. The winged roof line seems poised to take flight on the next gust of wind that roars in with the ocean... tempting me to lift off with it. Yet once inside I am grounded by an interior perfectly weighted by elements of nature: warm, organic textures of wood and stone; muted, soothing color palettes of white, gray, beige and brown; cozy leather sofas sprawled atop plush carpet and smooth concrete; and art, lighting and music collections that could have been painted, sculpted and orchestrated by Mother Nature herself. The owners have meticulously blended indoors and out- a balance virtually unobstructed by expansive panels of glass. What an effort they have made inviting Nature in when all the while She lures me out. I pause momentarily in the zen garden to contemplate the sheer beauty and peacefulness of my surroundings and soon I find myself soaring just as the house originally provoked. I drift through trees towards the horizons- where cliff meets sea and sea meets cloud- and hover between the two as if in timeless suspension. Eventually the creature comforts of Crane reel me back. I end the afternoon by cleansing my mind and body of the rigors and routine of home in the sauna. Any sticky remnants are soaked away in the spa tub tucked up into the hillside. However, I do admit to 're-toxing' myself with another superb blend... this time imbibing a bottle of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec that I am sure was cultivated just a county or two away. Hints of blackberry and cedar from the wine permeate with the piquant scent of the pine trees. All this is overlaid by the fresh aroma of oregano, basil and garlic that wafts over from the outdoor wood-fired pizza oven. I go into complete flavor overload... stimulated once again by indulgences I simply cannot refuse. Applause and accolades to Amy and Gary for producing such a harmonious and relaxing environment the way nature intended. Crane House is less house and more oasis and retreat. I leave invigorated, buoyant and inspired... anxious to return and experience all over again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I spent Thanksgiving in the fantastic Crane House, and the only negative thing that I can find to say is that I didn't stay longer! The fixtures and fittings are all beautifully designed and when you're not busy admiring the interior, you generally end up admiring the amazing views. Most of our days ended up in the hot tub, or by the fire pit, either of which is a great way to relax, especially with a glass of red! All in all we had a wonderful time, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Crane House as a great destination.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to post a great review. We sincerely appreciate it and we look forward to your next stay. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Crane House and had an amazing experience. As my husband is in the wine industry, we spent a majority of our days wandering around the adjacent countryside, visiting some of the best wineries in the region and driving along beautiful River Rd. We enjoyed the local restaurants (like the Timber Cove Lodge's restaurant, and the Stewarts Point General Store), but also spent time cooking in the high-end kitchen and making fresh pizzas with the outdoor pizza oven (awesome!). Our down-time (and there is plenty of downtime when you're out here) was spent relaxing in the dry sauna or hot tub, and sipping wine next to the amazing outdoor fire pit as we looked out toward the ocean. The house is located in a great location within easy driving distance of great wine and quaint towns, but also has everything you could want for a "stay-in" relaxing retreat (including an AMAZING steam shower and heated towel rack!!). It was an incredibly relaxing and rejuvinating experience and a great way to celebrate our honeymoon. Actually, writing this review makes me want to go back THIS weekend! Helpful hint: stop by the grocery store on your drive up to the house as there are no large grocery stores in the immediate area (and get yeast to make pizza dough! :) ).Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I spent an awesome weekend at this property. The views are spectacular. I really enjoyed sitting in the zen garden and the views of the ocean. The kitchen and eating area are fabulous for entertaining or having a quiet dinner. Everything was spotless. The ocean drive around Jenner and the property are lovely. The drive to Healdsburg through the mountains was also beautiful. A perfect weekend getaway especially if you like wine tasting with an ocean view!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We recently stayed at Crane House to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. After trailing though hundreds of properties I eventually found Crane House and looking at the photos and description of the available amenities, I was excited as it was just what we were looking for. When we arrived we were instantly blown away with the place, it was an architectural delight and the quality and attention to detail with the furnishings and decor was wonderful. The amenities were amazing for a romantic weekend away and my husband and I made use of the outdoor pizza oven, the sauna, fire pit and outdoor hot tub as the sun set across the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. The property is in a small private gated community with only a few houses near by. It is conveniently located off Highway 1 but you would think you were miles away from it as it was so peaceful and tranquil. The property has some wonderful floor to ceiling windows and although there is limited window coverings, the property has been cleverly designed to provide privacy as it is set into the hillside and blocked with trees outside in the zen garden. I would highly recommend this place for a couple looking to get away. There is no cell phone reception or Internet access on the Sonoma coast, so it was perfect to completely switch off from all the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy each others company. We will definitely want to return again some day, maybe for our 2nd wedding anniversary!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
