Windswept is located AT the Preserve Beach and Walking Trail Access with just a short walk to the most beautiful, most serene, and Private beaches on North Captiva Island. Our home is custom designed and crafted, taking its inspiration from Old-Florida and Key West Style Inns. Four full bedrooms and a sleeping loft (fifth bedroom) are beautifully decorated with fine furnishings and sumptuous linens. Attention to details carries throughout this magical oasis by the sea. The broad sweeping and open-concept great room offers ample seating for larger groups. The 62" DLP TV in the living area is complete with DIRECTV, DVD, and Bose Surround sound Home Theater.
The Master Bedroom Suite offers a spectacular 'Tommy Bahama' King Size Bed with a desk and sitting area facing views of the Bay. The Master bath suite is complete with double shower heads and temperature controls in the awesome walk-in shower, as well as a jetted corner jacuzzi tub and dual sink vanity.
A second king size bedroom is located on the opposite side of the beach house adjacent to the Guest Bath Suite. Two guest bedrooms (1 Queen, 1 Full) are decorated with a subtle beachy flair. The upstairs loft bedroom offers a full size bed with twin trundle bed and is also home to a 32"LCD Flat screen TV and XBOX 360 game system... a great kids play area with games and toys.
Fun, Games, Watersports, Poolside Picnic, Grillin' and chillin', something for everyone! With one of the largest heated pools on the island, a spacious and private pool deck surrounded by preserve. The ground level of this amazing vacation home brings together the fun of the beach with a festive Boardwalk flair. Our "mini-golf" putting greens offer a great diversion from all day at the beach! Why the Owner Chose North Captiva Island
Loved it from the get go... buying all of our supplies and heading to the beach for a long weekend. Renting a whole house was something we would always try to do from then on. We had it down to a science though... since we would fly in to Orlando or Ft Lauderdale and drive around a bit on our way here, we always had 3 or 4 soft sided coolers (made of fabric) folded them up and packed them inside 1 cooler bag with masks and snorkles and deflated air mattresses. This cooler bag- we checked it. At Publix we just unpacked the coolers and stuffed them with grocery supplies.
Vacations on North Captiva require less stuff then mainland vacations. You wear your swimsuits most of the time, flip flops are best instead of shoes :) and every home has laundry- so you could wear 2 or 3 outfits the whole time and just wash 'em. Now that is freedom... that is relaxation. Just stretching yourself out on the sand.

We know you will have a great vacation here. When explaining a vacation at Windswept on North Captiva... we always try to imagine what it would be like to be discovering this island for the treasure that it really is for the first time again. Mostly we just think of how many beautiful and unique things are collected into one gorgeous spot.. not well known... undiscovered if you will, and that may be what makes it so beautiful.
The best reasons to enjoy a vacation at Windswept are definitely the location, the house, the privacy, and the heated pool. Few others will ever see North Captiva from your vantage at Windswept, with the sun rising at one side of the property till the sun sets at the other.
Windswept is on the private island directly to the North of the islands of Sanibel and Captiva. As most would say, we are like Sanibel and Captiva islands were 50 years ago, before the bridges. "Cut-off" to some degree, but this makes the island all the more special. Plenty to do here with fishing, beach combing, shelling, boat rentals, etc., but what is also just as alluring is what is NOT available.

Mark & I have lived full-time on this island for 8 years and started out renting vacation homes for vacations here too. North Captiva was the first place we ever rented a whole vacation home; we had always stuck to hotels, cheaper apartment hotels, and condos to rent for vacations. We did vacation in Florida a lot, though. Massachusettes and New Hampshire are really cold in the winter.
For our first rental on the island.. we stayed ... just the 2 of us, close to the beach. Well no matter the house, renting a whole home was just perfect. We grilled every meal even breakfast on a screen porch by the sea. (Fresh Wild Mango Quesadillas of course!)
