Location: Estes Park, Front Range, Colorado, USA (.8 Mile to Downtown, 2.1 Miles to the Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park) View Map
Accommodations: Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Cabin or house
The cabin is only a 10 minute walk to downtown Estes Park shopping and restaurants. It is 1255 square feet and is bordered on the north by a forest that was once part of Rocky Mountain National Park, and was deeded to the historic MacGregor Ranch in a land exchange that enabled the Park to add hiking trails. These trails are from 1 to 3 miles north of the cabin. A large herd of elk live across from the Ranch which is 1/2 mile from the cabin.
The cabin has a large living room with a fireplace. From the backyard sandstone patio, you have a magnificent view of Lumpy Ridge, "said to have the best granite rock climbing in the state" (Rocky Mountain News, Jan 20, 2009), and will see elk, deer, abert squirrels, numerous varieties of birds, and other wildlife. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the front deck beneath the pines.
Although close to downtown, the cabin is in a secluded, quiet setting at the end of a street. Since you can walk into town, you will have both easy access to Estes Park's shopping and restaurants and the enjoyment of nature's tranquility and beauty.
PLEASE NO PETS OR SMOKING--my daughter and I have severe alleries.

My arrival to Estes Park was nothing less than breath taking. I and my friends arrived at our Rocky Mountain Cabin, pleased to find that that it was close enough to walk to town, but still nicely tucked away and peaceful. The cabin was built by the Rocky Mountain National Park and is kept immaculate. It was well appointed, spacious with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful photography and a fully stocked kitchen.
After the cubs got settled we found that the owners had set us up with coffee for the morning so we did not need to rush to the store. The cabin has a flat screen TV with dish network, many books to read, DVD’s and a nice stereo system for the all to listen to music if we wished.
We also discovered that the owner is a photographer, and left us a wonderful 8 x 10 photograph that she had taken of the snow capped mountains. What a nice gift! I was able to bring a piece of Estes Park home with me.
The night skies were brightened with stars like we had never seen! Every evening we sat out on one of the three patio areas to star gaze and soak up the cool crisp mountain air. The back patio is equipped with a very nice grill to cook your meals.
The mornings were just as glorious as the nights. After making some coffee we walked from the cabin to do some downtown shopping and over to the Historical Stanley Hotel for a tour. Estes Park has several trails to hike or bike, as well as a number of lakes where you can feed the ducks or rent paddle boats to get out on the water. Keep an eye out for the Elk, they are everywhere.

Why the Owner Chose Estes Park
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the Crown Jewels of the National Park System! Estes Park is such a charming town. We fell in love with the serenity of the location being next to the forest and the large cabin with the large windows with the ability to watch wildlife from the windows.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Being within close walking distance of downtown Estes and close to Rocky Mountain National Park Trails. Living in a peaceful neighborhood at the end of a dead end street that is bordered on the north by a forest, MacGregor Ranch and seeing lots of wildlife.
Owner's Map of Estes Park
We enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, nature and wildlife photography, and nature in general.
We have bought brand new furniture throughout the cabin in June 2009.

This was our second time staying at the cabin. The cabin is less than a mile to downtown, so it's close enough to walk and do the "tourist thing" yet one does not hear the downtown noise at night. We like the quiteness and peacefullness at night, since we would get up at 5 am to hike, before the afternoon thunderstroms. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils. The cabin is clean and comfortable.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

We had a FABULOUS time at this cabin. We were so impressed with all the things that were stocked in the kitchen, from the fact that there are more than just 4 plates and 4 glasses to being provided mayo/ketchup/mustard/coffee/filters/dish soap etc. How thoughtful! The cabin was squeaky clean, and the living room furniture soooo comfy! We even had a fire going one night and listened to the soothing crackling sounds. We also cooked quite a bit, enjoying simple meals and the company. We saw a herd of deer just outside the kitchen window, and my husband saw a coyote one morning. Unfortunately, it rained almost constantly during our first two days, so the wildlife was probably discouraged from making an appearance... Nonetheless, we did hike to Nymph/Dream/Emerald lakes as well as to Gem Lake and had a great time. The location is quiet and serene, yet so conveniently close to town and the grocery store (Safeway). This was a perfect getaway for our 4 day stay, and we didn't want to leave. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was as listed upon our arrival. Close enough to walk to downtown Estes, but very peaceful and quiet. Clean, nicely furnished, and well stocked. Very convenient to RMNP. Really enjoyed mornings at the breakfast table watching the elk, mule deer, hummingbirds, and even a bear on our last morning. Had an issue with the hot water heater during the week, made a quick call to Sherry and she had a serviceman out to correct it immediately; very responsive. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Timm's cabin. It was everything we had hoped it would be! The clean cabin was so so convenient to the town and the Safeway was even closer. Being close to the Stanley Hotel made us feel like we were part of its history. It is where the Jim Carey movie, "Dumb and Dumber" was filmed. Yet the cabin felt miles away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park, even though you could walk to the main street from the cabin. We liked viewing the elk parade of ten bucks walking through the property while we ate our breakfast in the kitchen! Having the grill outside made evening meals easy. We kept a look out for bears, but luckily saw none while there. Coming home to a restful cabin made those long hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park easier to take! The cabin made access to the Park very convenient. Before we left the Park each day we could double check the Sheep Lakes area to see if anyone saw big horn sheep. We also updated some of the restaurant recommendations that were at the cabin that hopefully will help future guests. If we can get back to Estes Park sooner than our past twenty-five year absence that occurred this time, we will definitely seek out this cabin to rent once again!

My family and I stayed at this cabin for our family vacation and it was WONDERFUL!!! It was even better than we had hoped or expected. The description and pictures are accuarte, but don't really do it justice. It is much nicer. And the very best thing is the location. While at the cabin it is very quiet and secluded feeling, but only a minute of driving time gets you to downtown. The owners were great to work with. Our family highly recommends this VRBO rental.

We stayed at the cabin in early October and had a glorious time. The cabin is beautifully decorated, spotless, and full of everything you could want to make your vacation complete. The kitchen was very well stocked. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood, but still near to town. In short, it was perfect for the relaxing getaway that we needed. We will definitely rent it again when we return to Estes Park.

Exactly what we needed...a quiet peaceful place to wake up to and relax in the evening. Closer to neighbors than we expected, but never saw or heard anyone. Except for a bear who knocked over the trash can one evening, and a chipmunk next to the driveway! Very accessible to Estes and minutes further to RMNP. In awe of the scenery, enjoyed hiking and horseback riding, wine tasting, and eating at Moma Rosa's! Cabin was very well stocked, extremely clean, and felt like home very quickly. Very roomy, and the bed was great!! Sherry is a great hostess! Would definitely recommend staying here and would like to go back again soon! Thanks, Sherry!

Very clean property. The property has a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Property is located close enough to downtown Estes Park to walk, approximately 1 mile, yet far enough away that one does not hear the noise. The location is very quiet, which is what we wanted. We wanted a quiet place, that we would not hear noise at night, since we would get up early to go hiking in RMNP. We saw a 10 point elk across the street. We would stay at this property in the future.

The accommodations were wonderful and the house was immaculate. It was a very quiet and relaxing place to return to after a busy day up in the mountains or scurrying around town. We had plenty of room and the living room space was great. We enjoyed several BBQs outside and relaxing on the south deck. We were visited by 3 Elk our first morning grazing in the empty lot to the west. The location was great to the town (within a short walk) and the entrance to RMNP. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great location to stay and without all the crowdedness from other tourists. Definitely felt like our home away from home for the week.

The cabin provided ample space for our family of four, peace and quiet and a wonderful setting while still being close to the amenities of Estes Park and RMNP. Our school-age children particularly enjoyed watching the elk wander by in the mornings and evenings, while I loved to have my cup of tea on the deck on balmy summer mornings. We regularly rent through VRBO, but this was by far the best place we have ever been. The cabin is very well appointed, the owner is always available and willing to help and really wants to make sure everybody is having a good time. We hope to be back soon.
