Cozy Cabin

Guest: Siri and Todd (Kansas City)
Date of Stay: 09/05/11 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

We had a FABULOUS time at this cabin. We were so impressed with all the things that were stocked in the kitchen, from the fact that there are more than just 4 plates and 4 glasses to being provided mayo/ketchup/mustard/coffee/filters/dish soap etc. How thoughtful! The cabin was squeaky clean, and the living room furniture soooo comfy! We even had a fire going one night and listened to the soothing crackling sounds. We also cooked quite a bit, enjoying simple meals and the company. We saw a herd of deer just outside the kitchen window, and my husband saw a coyote one morning. Unfortunately, it rained almost constantly during our first two days, so the wildlife was probably discouraged from making an appearance... Nonetheless, we did hike to Nymph/Dream/Emerald lakes as well as to Gem Lake and had a great time. The location is quiet and serene, yet so conveniently close to town and the grocery store (Safeway). This was a perfect getaway for our 4 day stay, and we didn't want to leave. We would definitely stay here again.

Second Stay

Guest: Kevin and Lynn (Dayton, OH)
Date of Stay: 08/20/11 Review Submitted: 09/13/11

This was our second time staying at the cabin. The cabin is less than a mile to downtown, so it's close enough to walk and do the "tourist thing" yet one does not hear the downtown noise at night. We like the quiteness and peacefullness at night, since we would get up at 5 am to hike, before the afternoon thunderstroms. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils. The cabin is clean and comfortable.

Perfect for our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park

Guest: Kurt and Lisa (Leawood KS)
Date of Stay: 07/24/11 Review Submitted: 08/11/11

Everything was as listed upon our arrival. Close enough to walk to downtown Estes, but very peaceful and quiet. Clean, nicely furnished, and well stocked. Very convenient to RMNP. Really enjoyed mornings at the breakfast table watching the elk, mule deer, hummingbirds, and even a bear on our last morning. Had an issue with the hot water heater during the week, made a quick call to Sherry and she had a serviceman out to correct it immediately; very responsive. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Guest: Gene and Jeanne (Florissant, Missouri)
Date of Stay: 06/25/11 Review Submitted: 07/20/11

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Timm's cabin. It was everything we had hoped it would be! The clean cabin was so so convenient to the town and the Safeway was even closer. Being close to the Stanley Hotel made us feel like we were part of its history. It is where the Jim Carey movie, "Dumb and Dumber" was filmed. Yet the cabin felt miles away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park, even though you could walk to the main street from the cabin. We liked viewing the elk parade of ten bucks walking through the property while we ate our breakfast in the kitchen! Having the grill outside made evening meals easy. We kept a look out for bears, but luckily saw none while there. Coming home to a restful cabin made those long hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park easier to take! The cabin made access to the Park very convenient. Before we left the Park each day we could double check the Sheep Lakes area to see if anyone saw big horn sheep. We also updated some of the restaurant recommendations that were at the cabin that hopefully will help future guests. If we can get back to Estes Park sooner than our past twenty-five year absence that occurred this time, we will definitely seek out this cabin to rent once again!

June 2011 Vacation

Guest: Bret (Oak Grove, MO)
Date of Stay: 06/18/11 Review Submitted: 07/04/11

My family and I stayed at this cabin for our family vacation and it was WONDERFUL!!! It was even better than we had hoped or expected. The description and pictures are accuarte, but don't really do it justice. It is much nicer. And the very best thing is the location. While at the cabin it is very quiet and secluded feeling, but only a minute of driving time gets you to downtown. The owners were great to work with. Our family highly recommends this VRBO rental.

Estes Cabin

Guest: anonymous (Oklahoma)
Date of Stay: 10/06/10 Review Submitted: 11/01/10

We stayed at the cabin in early October and had a glorious time. The cabin is beautifully decorated, spotless, and full of everything you could want to make your vacation complete. The kitchen was very well stocked. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood, but still near to town. In short, it was perfect for the relaxing getaway that we needed. We will definitely rent it again when we return to Estes Park.

Didn't Want To Leave!

Guest: Melinda (Kansas City, MO)
Date of Stay: 09/09/10 Review Submitted: 09/28/10

Exactly what we needed...a quiet peaceful place to wake up to and relax in the evening. Closer to neighbors than we expected, but never saw or heard anyone. Except for a bear who knocked over the trash can one evening, and a chipmunk next to the driveway! Very accessible to Estes and minutes further to RMNP. In awe of the scenery, enjoyed hiking and horseback riding, wine tasting, and eating at Moma Rosa's! Cabin was very well stocked, extremely clean, and felt like home very quickly. Very roomy, and the bed was great!! Sherry is a great hostess! Would definitely recommend staying here and would like to go back again soon! Thanks, Sherry!

Quiet Location

Guest: Kevin and Lynn (Dayton, OH)
Date of Stay: 08/21/10 Review Submitted: 09/20/10

Very clean property. The property has a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Property is located close enough to downtown Estes Park to walk, approximately 1 mile, yet far enough away that one does not hear the noise. The location is very quiet, which is what we wanted. We wanted a quiet place, that we would not hear noise at night, since we would get up early to go hiking in RMNP. We saw a 10 point elk across the street. We would stay at this property in the future.

Peaceful, Easy Accessibility to the Rockies

Guest: Lindsay (Wichita, KS)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/24/10

The accommodations were wonderful and the house was immaculate. It was a very quiet and relaxing place to return to after a busy day up in the mountains or scurrying around town. We had plenty of room and the living room space was great. We enjoyed several BBQs outside and relaxing on the south deck. We were visited by 3 Elk our first morning grazing in the empty lot to the west. The location was great to the town (within a short walk) and the entrance to RMNP. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great location to stay and without all the crowdedness from other tourists. Definitely felt like our home away from home for the week.

Ideal Getaway in the Rockies

Guest: SBH (Suburb of Washington DC)
Date of Stay: 07/24/10 Review Submitted: 08/15/10

The cabin provided ample space for our family of four, peace and quiet and a wonderful setting while still being close to the amenities of Estes Park and RMNP. Our school-age children particularly enjoyed watching the elk wander by in the mornings and evenings, while I loved to have my cup of tea on the deck on balmy summer mornings. We regularly rent through VRBO, but this was by far the best place we have ever been. The cabin is very well appointed, the owner is always available and willing to help and really wants to make sure everybody is having a good time. We hope to be back soon.

Great Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park

Guest: Retired (Fort Worth, Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/27/10 Review Submitted: 07/15/10

This is a lovely cabin away from the noise of downtown, but close enough to everything. We especially enjoyed coffee on the porch in the mornings before hiking, and quiet afternoons there upon return. The living space is large, and the kitchen well equiped. There is no electric mixer however. The cabin is well maintained, and the owner is available for all questions. Just a phone call away and only to willing to help. We hope to have the chance to return someday.

Wonderful time in the rockies.

Guest: Brian, Pat and Meg (Saint Paul, MN)
Date of Stay: 05/15/10 Review Submitted: 05/15/10

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home, as it is much more than a cabin. We stayed in March for a week, hiking the high country on snowy trails with our daughter who was on break from college (the people who go to the beach don't know what they're missing). We fell into your warm, comfortable beds every night. Everything was as pictured. The place was immaculate, the kitchen well stocked. Wi-fi in the office allowed us to plan our outings and stay in touch with our other daughter on the other side of the globe. The living room was a wonderful, spacious room. The cabin is close to everything, including RMNP, Estes for groceries, and the Stanley, where we had excellent food. Sherry was a wonderful hostess and shared concerns about an incoming storm that dropped about 15 inches on our way out. Made our way down from the mountains safely, but far too soon. Would eagerly return for more.

our stay from October 9, 2009 thru October 12, 2009 was certainly filled with some great wildlife scenes next to the cabin. Elk, a flock of wild turkeys and of course the chipmonks and wild birds brought to life from the kitchen window. Although the weather was cold, the town was aglow with visitors. It was good to come back to a warm clean cabin with a fire in the insert to put you to sleep. Will return soon

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this peaceful cabin. It was wonderful to come "home" to a comfortable place after hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. All the amenities of home in a great vacation destination - close to town yet very quiet and isolated. Loved it and would recommend this rental to anyone!!

Your efforts to provide a clean and very comfortable cabin are very apparent! All of us appreciated the accommodations. Three full days of hiking, then rafting and fly fishing on the Roaring Fork River made this a spectacular family vacation-the 1st in many years. In our spare moments while reading on the deck, your little "Hummers" made frequent visits, as did the mule deer doe who was challenged by the bird feeders. Needless to say we found considerable peace in the mountains, valleys, and here at your cabin. Our family agrees this a a very special place and we too appreciate the great week we spent here. Very Best Regards!

We don't want to leave! We have had such a wonderful time here in Estes Park. We spent 3 days hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park and loved every minute of it. It was wonderful to come home to this cozy, clean, and well appointed little cottage! We also loved the town and the fun activities there. This has become a new favorite vacation spot - we will definitely return. Thanks Sherry and Steve for all of the information and help. We appreciated your guidance and advice on the local area. You have a very special place here. Thanks for sharing it!

This was our first visit to Estes Park and hopefully not our last. The first evening we saw two mule deer looking curiously at us as we sat enjoying a drink on the patio. We spent the majority of our time hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Thank you for the hospitality and all the "extra amenities". We thoroughly enjoyed having a comfortable place to come home to after long days of hiking.

We all enjoyed our time here in Estes Park. The hummingbirds were fun to watch! Though they do not like someone to sit too close to the feeder! Ben saw the siver/black fox. Fishing was fun for the guys and all enjoyed the horseback riding except for me! Ouch! The mountain are beautiful and so different than the landscape at home. Thank you for giving us a Colorado home to spend a few days.

We had such an amazing time bird- watching, enjoying the peachefulness, and relaxing between hikes in the park. Some of the birds we saw were: bullock oreoles; stellar jays; chipping sparrows, pine siskins, dark-eyed juncos, black headed grosbeaks, nuthatcheds, woodpeckers, a big horned owl, and of course hummingbirds. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable! We appreciate all the little touches that make this place special. We hope to enjoy this magical place again!

Sherry has made this quiet cabin a very comfortable destination. We enjoyed the spacious deck everyday after hiking. It's the perfect combination of sun and shade with easygoing adirondack chairs. And, the hummingbirds readily flocked to the available feeders on our June visit. The living room afforded more space than we needed and featured a handsome fireplace. All in all, this cabin feels very close to home; there's even a nice desk area. Enjoy the views and wildlife! Elk, birds, squirrels, hummingbirds, friendly neighbors (not wild), come by here and there. We'll be back.

The historic cabin is a very nice place to stay while in Estes Park. It is clean and roomy. You feel like you're the only person around because it is so private even though there are neighbors. It is walking distance from the downtown. The back patio is very private since it backs up to woods. I'd stay here again.
