Nati's House: We Rent Our Apartment for Weekly Stays in Venice
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
We rent our apartment in the centre of VENICE. The apartment is composed of: a small entrance hall and two rooms, one bathroom with shower and a balcony. One room offers the kitchenette, fully-equipped with four cooking stoves, table, etc. and a single or double sofabed. The other room offers another double sofabed, really comfortable and easy-to-open. So it is suitable for a family or a family with one child!
Three large windows and a nice balcony open onto a picturesque canal. The apartment is located on the first floor. Tell us if you have children: we will lend you our child's toys. There is a washing machine, TV, VHS, oven; linen and towels are included. Sorry No Pets. The house has been completely restored in 2002. You will find everything new.
As maybe you know, sometime in Venice the sea floods the city streets, but our apartment is safely located at the first floor. Anyway you will find four sets of galoshes at home that will allow you to go everywhere: for tourists it could be a picturesque experience! Staying at the first floor you will avoid not only flood but also consequential humidity of Venetian settlements located at the ground or at the so called 'piano rialzato' (mezzanine).
When in our house you will be in the heart of the lively district of Cannaregio, where the popular culture of Venice is still alive and where restaurants and 'osterias' (pubs) are still for Venetians (and for the few lucky tourists who go off the beaten track for a minute or two). You will be four minute walk from the boat service ('vaporetto'), ten minutes from the railway station, and ten minutes from Rialto, maybe less with the 'gondola.' If you plan to arrive to the San Marco Airport, just take the Alilaguna boat shuttle Airport-Venice, stop at Guglie water bus stop in Venice and then you have to walk four minutes and just one bridge to cross!
We really believe that, when traveling abroad, it is fundamental to taste the true Spirit of a place, not only what the tourist machine wants to show you, but that special feeling that inhabits every single place, the 'Genius Loci' as Norbert Schultze once wrote.
We are Paolo, Giulia and Natalia, Nati for friends (16 years old). We are a (quite rare nowadays) happy family living in Bologna. We decided to buy the apartment in Venice because we love this city. We lived for six years there when we were students at the University School of Architecture. Now we both are Architects professing in Bologna but our hearts are still in Venice.
The city is not so far from Bologna so, during the periods we do not rent the apartment, it is possible for us enjoying short stays in the most spectacular city of the world. Normally Paolo will be available on Saturday to meet you in Venice and lead you into your Venetian experience (better at the railroad station or in 'Piazzale Roma': the last bastion of the world endowed with cars). In case Paolo should not be present for some reason, don't worry because you will already have the keys and instructions (see our website).

This apartment is a great deal for Venice. We loved the location - in the quiet Canneregio district away from the crowds, but close enough to be able to walk everywhere. Having a little balcony on a canal was the perfect Venice dream! We enjoyed shopping at the little store nearby, and there were plenty of fresh produce and fish markets nearby. The apartment was as described in the listing. We appreciated the washing machine in the kitchen and drying lines on the balcony. The apartment is only one story up, so not insurmountable after a long day of walking. Venice is such an amazing city. We loved it there, and Nati's House was part of our wonderful stay. Paulo was very helpful and responsive to any of our questions during the booking process, and during our stay. Some suggestions: - We found the floor mats in the bedroom and kitchen were ready for a change or good cleaning. - The pull-out bed was adequate, but a real bed with a thicker mattress would be an improvement. All in all, a great place to stay and a real value for Venice.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We just spent a week in Vanice at Nati's House. It is a fully equipt, beautiful apartment over looking it's own romantic canal. The apartment even includes an eclectic art collection which really makes you feel at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the location for it's wonderful neighborhood feel both for walking and for dining. We were very close to the shopping, cafes, markets and the vaporetto, an amazing water "bus" that will take you anywhere around Venice! It is a fantastic way to tour Venice by boat. You are also extremely close to the train station making it easy to travel to and from Nati's house. We recommend staying in this delightful apartment. Also the owner Paolo is a very helpful and organized gentleman. He will answer all your questions and give helpful tips if you ask. We made the mistake of mixing up our date of our departure, backing up the new renter by a day and he graciously handled the situation by making sure everyone had a place to sleep for the night! Now that's a real host!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Absolutely charming apartment, in a very quiet residential area, away from the tourist crowds yet close to several different vaporetto stops that access the whole city easily. Close to markets. The apartment has a lot of light with east and south facing windows that are not shadowed by the low buildings across the canal. Even in March I could enjoy lunch with the balcony doors open as the noonday sun streamed into the living room/kitchen area. The apartment is well outfitted, very clean, and the pull out couch-beds were comfortable. The apartment is small but VERY comfy for two adults and it works for three (or 4) as the bedroom has a door and there is another pull out bed in the living area.( though obviously you have less privacy in the living area and the bed has to be converted back into the couch during the day to have room to move around in) .The bathroom is narrow but its bright new fixtures make it seem bigger. There are guidebooks in the apartment to borrow. WiFi worked well. The apartment is in a building where only Venetians live so it is important to be a "good neighbour", and respect their quiet hours. The booking was easy. The owner is a thoughtful, helpful, gracious and considerate person who has been very responsive to questions. I stayed here for a month and loved it! When I return I will stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I spent the first week of our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Italy in Nati's House in Venice in July, 2011. It was a wonderful start to a memorable holiday. The apartment is cosy but extremely comfortable. We requested a small meal and wine be made available for us upon arrival, and Paolo's assistant, the delightful Miss Christina, prepared a lovely package meal. Having dinner on the balcony each evening was a romantic repast. One morning, the Italian Air Force flew by with their tricolour vapour trails, adding to the welcoming feeling. As others have mentioned, the neighbourhood is quiet and residential. However, lovely shopping is available just a few blocks away. We thoroughly fell in love with Venice. Make sure to visit Murano, and colourful Burano while you're at it… just a short Vaporetto trip away. Foolishly, I forgot some valuable camera equipment at the apartment, and Paolo most generously brought it to Florence for me on the next leg of our journey, going way out of his way. We saw his new Florentine apartment, which looks quite lovely and inviting. He is a charming, cultured articulate man. We look forward to our return to Venice, and to explore Paolo's other rental accommodations in Italy upon our return. BRAVISSIMO Paolo! My mother and I stayed here for a week in November 2010. The apartment has a charming location with lovely views along a little canal. The area is quiet and residential (with a small factory across the canal). But it is also within a few blocks walk of a vaporetto stop to take you to all the tourist sites; we ordered a weekly transportation ticket in advance. The bedroom was large, and the sofabed in the living room was comfortable. The bathroom is smallish - but that is normal for Italy. We found the local supermarket and saved lots of money by not eating at restaurants (but still having lovely Italian food). Paolo and Giulia were very helpful. We will definitely stay here when we return to Venice. If you are a reasonably independent traveler and don't need the constant attention of hotel staff, then this place is an excellent choice.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I loved our week in Nati's House in Venice and wished we could have stayed longer. The house is well located, yet far from the tourist track. It is comfortable and the host is very conscientious in providing everything that is needed, including Venice guidebooks in English, as well as detailed instructions covering every eventuality. The apartment was clean, well maintained and fit the description provided very accurately. I would definitely recomment it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this accessible apartment in Venice. With Paolo s directions, we found the location is easily on foot from a nearby vaporetto. This is a comfortable setting and the perfect place to relax while exploring Venice. Within the apartment are helpful directions for the up to date appliances as well as suggestions for nearby stores and restaurants. We found the neighbourhood safe, the locals smiling and approachable when we attempted our limited Italian. Sampling a small part of Italy left us eager to continue further explorations.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

For some years now I have been lucky enough to visit Venice several times. The city has charmed me, and as a base for my long walks, vaporetti rides, cappucinos, collecting masks and glass beads, chatting with the locals, enjoying churches and art, I have Nati House. The flat is not big, but I have stayed there with mu husband and our daughter, with a friend and all alone. Situated in a quiet area of Venice, where few tourists find their way, I love to pretend that I belong, that I live here (at least for a week or two). First think in the morning I wake up to the songsof the glassworkers just across the canal, last thing before I go to sleep I listed to small boats passing by. The kitchen is well equipped, and a perfect place for making a meal for two, with the grocery store not far away. I am in the process of planning more trips to Venice, and my first choice is always Nati House.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I stayed in Nati's house for a week in September 2007 and found the property to be exactly as described (if not better). The apartment is very conveniently situated, close to Vaporetto stops, shops and within walking distance of the main line train station. It is very easy to visit any of the main attractions in Venice such as the Lido (lovely beach and pleasant restaurant on the beach), the Rialto Bridge, the Doges' Palace, Murano and Burano all of which we did during our stay. We tended to eat in as the cooking facilities are excellent and by the time we had walked miles around all the lovely squares and churches etc in Venice we were too tired to venture out much in the evening. There are pleasant walks along the canal banks and some lovely shops to visit all very much within walking distance. The owner was very helpful with information and guide books provided in the apartment and I would definitely stay there again in the future.Did you find this review helpful? My wife & I loved of our week in Venice, and especially the comforts and conveniences of staying at Nati's House. The apartment is perfect for two people, and is exactly like it is advertised. Perfect location, and some place we hope to stay in the future. Paolo is responsive to any of your questions and needs. It's an easy walk from the train station, and the boat stop to and from the airport is even closer. We were truly sad to leave after only a week.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We are Paolo, Giulia and Natalia, Nati for friends (14 year old). We are a happy family living in Bologna. Since 2002 we have been managing a rental activity through the net. We started when we bought Nati's House in Venice, a town we know quite well as we both attended the University there (University School of Architecture ). Now we are both architects practicing in Bologna. Paolo is also a teacher of Art and Drawing. Afterwards, due to the rapid success of this small rental collateral family business, we expanded our activity with the Magenta Apartment in Florence (see VRBO #38474). Now, the last acquisition is Trullo della Luna, a holiday villa with swimming pool in one of the best places from which to explore Puglia, better known abroad as Apulia. Ask us more details, we will be happy to introduce you into the world of the trulli. P a o l o & G i u l i a D e v e s c o v i
Why the Owner Chose Venice:
As architects, we think there are no better places in which to invest our enthusiasm and money than buildings...located in the most spectacular places of Italy. Our aim is to provide our guests with a straightforward family approach but, at the same time, offer a complete professional rental service.
Paolo's Facebook page is open to everyone desiring to keep contacts with us. Our blog 'Archirent News' deals with topics about our rental places.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Venice is a unique place and we are proud to offer a very comfortable apartment: close to the main water bus stops, easily connected to the airport by a boat direct shuttle service, close to the reailway station (11 minutes), far from the noisy tourist beaten tracks, located in the lively district of Cannaregio.
