Our group has stayed with the Zaugg family for 10 years now. Chuck and Pam are gracious hosts and a pleasure to work with. Incredible location on Anvil Lake, spacious cabin with all the amenities and countless outdoor activities just outside the Chalet door! Eagle river (just down the road) has several good restaurants (stop by Leif's for Breakfast!) and plenty of shopping. If you like to get off the beaten path and still be comfortable, this is the place to go. Hiking,Biking, Snowmobiling and great Fishing can be found in any direction! We have already put a deposit for next year's stay. See you in the Northwoods!

This rental is spacious and beautiful as described. We always take an October vacation and like to find a place with a view in case the weather doesn't cooperate. This place has all that plus a spa bathtub and fireplace. Plenty of room to spread out if you have a family. There is a lack of cell service in the immediate area. We brought our own boat and caught a variety of fish everyday on the lake. We also enjoyed boating on the near by Eagle River Chain & N. Twin Lake. Lots of scenic driving trips & hiking trails to explore. We would definitely come back to this resort to enjoy the tranquility of the north woods.

We've been coming back to these wonderful chalets for seven years -- and we keep coming back for these reasons: The chalets are gorgeous, well-maintained and very cozy! We love the fireplace, the view from the deck where we can see the lake and hear the loons, we enjoy the big bathtub, and we love the tennis courts and being able to use the canoe and fishing boats. We also enjoy the beautiful nature trail right off the property and the fact that the owners are absolutely wonderful people. The atmosphere is filled with the beauty of God and we love every minute! Wish we could move here!!! It's also wonderful because we have no computer, no cell phones, no distractions from home. The bike riding is fantastic too!

The chalets are clean, spacious, and comfortable. They are equipped with almost everything you need, including a well-stocked kitchen, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The property sits on Anvil Lake which is not part of the Chain of Lakes, making it much quieter and less crowded. Your rental includes tennis/basketball courts, beach, kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, and small motor boat, which provide plenty of entertainment if you don't have a boat of your own. The owners (VRBO rejects my review if I use their name!) even took our kids tubing in their boat. Each chalet is on a large piece of property with trees between each so that you don't feel as though you have neighbors on top of you. Finally, the owners are the final touch that makes this rental so unique and enjoyable. They are kind, attentive, and personable. You will enjoy reading the stories in the chalet of the history of the property and how the owners transformed it into what it is today.

We highly recommend Zauggs Resort for family vacations. Our 3 children and their families (8 adults, 6 children) stayed in a chalet together with plenty of room. The chalets were very clean and comfortable. The sandy beaches and clean lake water provided our grandchildren with lots of fun playtime. Our adult children enjoyed playing tennis, hiking on nearby trails and taking bike rides. Thank you for an enjoyable week and many great memories with our family.
Owner response:YEA! this is just what we ar hoping for: families to enjoy our spot with all ages finding things to do both together and in the amazing quiet of Anvil Lake and the Nicolet Forest.

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed every stay at Zaugg's Resort. The Chalet's amenities and surrounding scenery exceeded our expectations, which is one of the reasons we return year after year. The spring and fall seasons are our favorite time to spend at Zaugg's Resort and we have never been dissapointed. It's a great way to release some of the pressures we all face and rejuvenate ourselves. The friendliness of the hosts Pam & Chuck Zaugg only add to what has always been a great time for us, and one we look forward to with excitement and anticipation each time we visit.

We stayed here the week of August 21st. We were two families, a party of 9 (4 adults, 5 children) we all fit well. One family slept in the basement rooms and the other had the master and loft rooms. The accommodations are fine but could use some updating. Beds have foam mattress covers which helps to mask the age but not for 7 nights. Definitely need new mattresses. Sheets are old and sort of ratty so you might want to pack your own. The rental does not come with anything except sheets/trash bags/coffee filters so be prepared to bring your own dishtowels, sponge, hand soap, paper towels, plastic wrap or tin foil, beach towels, bath towels, beach toys. They do offer a fishing boat, kayaks, canoe, tennis court, large grassy lawn, basketball hoops. There is a small barn and you can visit the horses. The lake is nice and quiet, we rented a boat - not a lot of boat traffic which made it easy for water sports. We used the fire pit 2x for s'mores. Check out time is NINE a.m. which we didn't realize so didn't get out until 10. The proprietors were nice and understanding about the miscommunication. A good place for two families with kids because the beach is right there. I wouldn't call it "deluxe" but it was a nice stay.

We all look for a bit of Heaven on Earth in our lives. Zaugg's Resort provided my family and myself with just that! Despite the "not so perfect" weather, we all greatly enjoyed our stay at the Zaugg's Resort. What beautiful, well maintained chalets and grounds! It was definitely by far the nicest vacation stay that we have experienced in the 30+ years that we have been vacationing in northern WI. The owners were very pleasant and accomodating. There were numerous things to do, if the weather was not conducive to water activities. I would definitely give the Zaugg's 5 stars, and will recommend their resort to friends looking for a great get-away in northern WI.

We have been coming to this property for 5 years on beautiful Anvil Lake. We love the lake for water skiing, swimming and just playing in the summer. It is a clear lake which makes it all the more special. We also have fun in this area with awesome road biking, running, river rafting, go karting, and shopping. The property is always well kept and the owners do their best to address any issues that may arise. With 3 bedrooms and a loft there is plenty room for three couples and children.

We have stayed every year for 4 years now and love it! The cabins are comfortable and well accomodated. Everything is neat and clean. The tennis courts are an awesome treat. We spend most of our days on the courts - the rest of the time at the lake. I would highly recommend this for any family needing a get away together.

We love, love, love, Zauggs! We used to get one chalet but our family, (about 17 of us), grew out of it. We left for a couple years for a bigger resort but ended up coming back to Zauggs, and renting two chalets. You have tons of yard, all the wood you need, a nice beach with hammocks to lie in, and great fishing! The chalets overlook the beautiful lake and they are very well kept and clean!! We see numerous Eagles and see and hear the beautiful loons. There is a basketball court, tennis court, and playground for the little ones. There is even a whirlpool bath in the chalet, which the kids love!! Pam and Chuck are great hosts and keep everything looking nice!

Nice, updated comfortable cabins. We love the tennis court and the paved driveway for kids' bikes. The LARGE beach / lakefront is great too. Nice, updated comfortable cabins. We love the tennis court and the paved driveway for kids' bikes. The LARGE beach / lakefront is great too. We get an opportunity to bond with our entire family since we get several cabins for the week. It is an opportunity we never get when back home. It is amazing to watch the kids grow together and stay knit together.
