Staying here was an excellent choice. Carol was very hospitably and constantly showed us Aloha Spirit, from the little touches in the apartment (locally produced soap and fresh flowers from Moloka'i Flower Farm) to her tips (best tip about a hidden beach gem), and she even gave us her own beach chairs to use. The kitchen is very well stocked (blender and coffee grinder much appreciated) and you can open all windows in the cottage for a nice breeze. Amazing water pressure in the shower, though it may not look like it! Great hammock too, loved the time out there. Very easy five-mile drive to town for supplies and the most beautiful beaches are not far. Beach access across the street; we always met the same locals out there walking dogs in the mornings and evenings, all very talkative. All the people of Moloka'i are so wonderful, especially once they see you around a couple times - I highly suggest spending a good week or more here to get the true spirit of the island. Do not miss: Halawa Valley and Kalani Pruett's flower farm, Purdy's mac nut farm, Coffees of Hawaii cafe with the pretzel drizzled with cream cheese and guava flavor, Kumu farms pesto and Misaki's old school grocer store. The gals at Goodz and Grindz are also a hoot - you get all the good island gossip from them. Bring good bug spray, though... ;-) the geckos get a lot of the bugs, but still... Thank you Carol, for your aloha spirit and for opening up this beautiful home to us.

Bamboo Paradise was everything we expected and more! Having just come from Waikiki, it was just a relief and joy to unpack in this quiet little paradise. It was clean, spacious, charming, and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our two day stay. Our main purpose was the mule ride to the leper colony, which was quite fabulous, but also enjoyed a day exploring the island and snorkeling. If we return Molokai, I can't imagine staying anywhere else but here.

If you stay in a condo or hotel, everything tends to be more or less the same… This place is unique: a rotunda bamboo cottage, bamboo floor, bamboo wall, bamboo roof… with splendid 360° view. Sea-view from the balcony, you can watch the sunrise and sunset there, take a nap in the hammock. Walk across the street to the seashore in 3 minutes. We had a very relaxing stay in this lovely bamboo cottage.

Bamboo Paradise was just the right accommodation for my stay on Molokai. First of all, it is very centrally located which made it easy to explore all of the beautiful sights on the island. The oceanview from the balcony and lanai was gorgeous. Also, a nice beach and morning beach walk is directly across from the studio. There is a nice kitchen to prepare the fresh fruits and veggies grown here on Molokai. The fridge kept all nice and crisp. The claw foot tub was a relaxing way to end the day. I loved the back yard with table and chairs, garden, banana trees and papayas growing. Carol was a wonderful hostess with all the inside scoop on Molokai. Aloha!

The gift of ten days totally enjoying this unique and beautiful cottage with its great design and sustainable timber bamboo. Lovely hostesses create a feeling of welcome, ease and comfort. Viewing the sunrise over Molokai peaks, walking along the reef shoreline and slowing to the gentle pace of "the friendly isle" make the "Bamboo Paradise" a vacation to be remembered.

Just what the doctor ordered for a quiet weekend away. The upstairs yurt was very clean and comfortable. Location was just outside of town, so very convenient. Nice breezy nights... Quiet... Perfect place to relax...

A really charming and relaxing place to stay. This was our 5th time to Molokai in the last year, and we've already stayed at the hotels and many of the condos in Molokai. This place was better --it's clean, peaceful, and quiet. We were so happy we stayed here and we'll definitely be back to stay here again. Having breakfast on the deck at sunrise, looking out over the ocean toward the island of Lanai, enjoying the quiet, and cool breezes. The location is perfect, close to the beach, great view of the mountains, and close to shops and restaurants in Kaunakakai. Owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Solar-powered home is a great plus. You're not only staying on a beautiful island, but you feel good knowing you're doing so in an environmentally friendly way.
