Great home, great private location!

Warm memories forever! This cottage makes you feel right at home. There is plenty of room and the layout is perfect. It is charming. We will never forget our stay and we hope to go back again and again! The grounds are wonderful for walking and the (private) beaches are close. The views are spectacular! The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had a full house for a couple of days during our week and were not the least bit cramped. Two short miles into the quaint town of Port Austin. The owners made us feel like family. All bedrooms are upstairs.

From any room in this spacious resort cottage you can view the quiet vista of Lake Huron. You are up on a gorgeous bluff with lovely sunsets and sunrises, yet many private sandy beaches are just a few minutes walk. The cottage itself is like no other vacation rental experience. Much has been preserved to give you the feeling of walking back in time, yet the owner has provided a very well done contemporary large kitchen!! The water quality was excellent! (Port Austin area boasts one of the best public water supplies in the state of MI.) A golf cart rental was available for our entire stay. Once we arrived, we really didn't need to leave this resort property or 'start our car'!! What a gift when you are on vacation. Our experience was all we expected and more! The golf is Wonderful!! No waiting on the course - just show up and golf any time on the oldest course in Michigan. The property's pristine Michigan woods await your investigation. We are going back next year for a more extended stay!! It was love at first sight!

Owner response:Wow!................and no, she's not on the payroll. We are very blessed to have this home and area to occasionally offer for enjoyment by others. It's a special place for certain. We especially take delight we when can bring together families under one roof, reconnecting, celebrating, discovering. And it's so great to have such wonderful guests who preserve its splendor.

The cottage is everything described and more. We stayed there for four nights and only regret that we didn't find a way to book it for a week. Everyone loved the house, the golf and the bike trails. It's absolutely beautiful and we hope to go back there again. We would recommend this place to anyone, it's absolutely beautiful.

We very much enjoyed our vacation at the "thumbnail" of Michigan. Its one of the most picturesque places I've stayed in. The beaches are so nice and the house is huge and beautiful. The kitchen is big- perfect for cooking for a large family like ours. Plenty of exploring for kids. Golf and tennis for all. I highly recomend it!

Owner response:I can relate to the many possibilities for kids to explore. Constant discovery was a favorite feeling as a child and for every friend I took up there over the years. Now my children and their friends enjoy the same, that same look in their eyes and excited, loud voices clamor over the 'coolness' of it all just as I had done.
