This is a real get-away with spectacular views,abundant wildlife, and the peace and quiet of the country. At the same time, you are only 18 miles away (a half hour)from the destination resort of Telluride, where there are ample activities to choose from--gourmet dining, theater, as well as world-class music and film festivals. The hot springs swimming pool of Ouray is also nearby, about 45 minutes in the other direction.
Located on 35 acres, the Southwest-style home sits in a mountain meadow surrounded by views of 14,000'snow-capped peaks. When standing on the nearby edge of a deep river canyon, there's also a view one hundred miles away to the mountains of Utah. The night time sky is equally beautiful--with no other lights to get in the way, the moon and stars are brilliant.
The log post-and-beam house (3600 square feet) is spacious with windows in all directions to capture the views, high ceilings and large rooms. The kiva fireplace is a cozy corner for gathering around the hearth or for viewing TV. The kitchen opens to the large living and dining area, creating a open great room with an attached greenhouse filled with flowers.
There are two outdoor decks, one on the east side and one on the west side with a gas grill and comfortable patio furniture--the perfect place for summer evenings and morning coffee. Also downstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom.
Upstairs is a large master bedroom with a king-size bed, a roomy second bedroom with a double bed, and a fold-out couch in the loft for additional guests. The loft is set up as an office space with satellite internet access. Both bedrooms have balconies for easy access to the outdoors. The upstairs bathroom is luxurious with a separate toilet room and sink, a large soaking tub designed to take in the views, double sinks and an enclosed shower.
Elegant and rustic, this is a unique home in a unique setting. Perfect for a couple or a family who wants to enjoy the beauty and solitude of a retreat - but who also want easy access to the amenities Telluride has to offer without paying resort prices.
The house is powered by solar and wind. Though not complicated, we provide detailed information about the system upon arrival as well as a caretaker who lives nearby to answer any questions. More pictures are available upon request.

SPECIAL DISCOUNT: If booked before May 15th: $1500/week. $4,000/month
Rates based on up to 4 people.
If more guests, add $100/week per person.
A refundable Security/Damage Deposit of $1,000 is payable upon arrival.
A nonrefundable deposit of 25% of total rental fee is required to hold reservation
The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to arrival and is
nonrefundable after that date.
