"Mountain Home Lodge" Inspiring Alaskan Mountain Views

Year Purchased: 2003

Why the Owner Chose Willow

The property was originally purchased in 1976 by Beth's parents. This was the cabin Beth grew up in. In 2003 Beth and Jon and their 3 children moved to Alaska and were able to realize a DREAM of owning the family property. Extensive remodeling took place in the main cabin. Many happy memories with family and friends were made. We also had an addition of another child to our home .... this time in in our home! In 2008 our family moved out of state for a new job which provided the unique opportunity to open "Mountain Home Lodging". Another dream has been realized to share our unique property with others.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Looking out over thousands of acres in the Talkeetna mountains is the inspiring view right from our living room window. Abundant wildlife, includes watching the beavers, a variety of ducks, eagles, and visits from moose and bear are just a sample of mountain life. Mountain Home Lodge is a peaceful and private setting that rejuvenates the soul! Our family has enjoyed hiking, four-wheeling and snowmobiling in these mountains since I was a child and now, so has the next generation. A favorite and frequently asked question of the cousins and children is "When can we go to the mountain?"

    • My daughter loves the outdoors and wanted to have her wedding in a remote location. A friend recommended Mountain Home Lodge. It was the perfect location. The view of the snow covered mountains were spectacular in December. The many bedrooms allowed us to have all the family from out of town stay in one location. The log cabin and the large picture window made for a beautiful setting for the wedding pictures. The master bedroom and bathroom was large enough for the bride to prepare. The long hallway made for a great entrance into the ceremony. After the wedding the large kitchen was great for hosting the reception. The island gave ease to the flow of about 40 people filling their plates with food. The owners were great to work with and I would highly recommend Mountain Home Lodge for a wedding, retreat, or just a fun family get together.

    • I have been to this lovely mountain retreat several times and I love it here. It is one of the most relaxing, beautiful places in Alaska. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the things you need to make a meal, the beds are incredibly comfy and warm, the view is AMAZING, and all of the amenities are the best you could ask for. It is clean, secluded, spacious, and beautiful. I highly recommend staying here if you want a true Alaskan adventure retreat!

    • I have been a guest at this amazing retreat house five times and I always come away inspired, relaxed, and looking forward to the next visit. The views are incredible, the rooms are cozy and comfortable and the new kitchen is awesome. You will not be disappointed-this is a great opportunity to experience Alaska's beauty from a wonderful mountain-top perspective.
