Wonderful for a large group

We rented this house in October for a week. There were 15 people in our group. Four families with a total of seven kids ages 2-7. The house was wonderful! The private pool was fantastic and the beach access was just across the street. The owners were VERY nice. The house was clean and ready when we arrived. The kitchen and living area was spacious enough to accommodate our group easily. We hope to return next October!

Our family and extended family stayed at this house over Thanksgiving. We were surprised to see that it didn't have a disposal in the sink. The microwave is one of the smallest one's you can buy and made it very difficult to use. Most of the chairs are covered in plastic wrap; I guess they think people are going to spill all over them? They list a bunch of rules and before you leave you have to clean the bathrooms. Since we paid all that money to stay in this beautiful house why would we have to clean the bathrooms? The big TV in the family room when we were watching college football and they had the score on the left side of the screen you couldn't read it because the TV is so old you can't change the ratio either. That drove us crazy with all the big games on. Bring your own towels because the towels they have are old and not updated. Trust me that really sucked, we went out and bought new towels. Overall the house is beautiful and the area is great. We would not rent this house again, and for the money you can find a better house.
Owner response:"As much as we appreciate comments whether good or bad, there is one aspect of this review that seems to be overlooked. We had promptly responded to all of their questions and requests prior to their arrival. Therefore we do not understand the lack of communicating these concerns to us during their stay. We personally check in our guests and answer any questions they might have regarding their stay. We urge them to call us if they have any problems or questions that we can help them with. Since we own this property, and live a few blocks away, we are available to our guests 24 hours a day. We are just a mere phone call away in resolving any issues that our guests may encounter to ensure a carefree and enjoyable vacation experience. The displeasure with the towels is just one area that we could have helped them with during their stay immediately. We have since purchased new towels for this house. We have refrained from installing a disposal in this new house due to some accidents that have occurred in the past. This includes numerous pieces of silverware and other articles that have found their way into the disposal and either been damaged, or caused damage to these units. Yes, our kitchen and dining room chairs are professionally covered to reduce staining from spills. We were totally unaware of any issues with the TV in the living room regarding sports scores not being able to be read in the corner. We contacted the cable company to see if this was an issue that they could resolve and they indicated that it was a broadcast issue not a TV problem. They have since corrected the problem. Our "list of rules" is just a reminder for our guests to aid them during their stay, such as when the garbage goes out, check out times, and keeping the doors closed when running the AC or Heat, etc. A copy of this courtesy list can be provided upon request. We do NOT require that our guests clean the bathrooms; our hired cleaning crews take care of that. We simply ask our guests to rinse the sand from the tubs and shower stalls. We do want to thank these guests for pointing out that Jewel by the Sea is a beautiful house and in a great location, as our previous guest reviews have also indicated. Your hosts, Scott & Linda"
