With 8 queen beds, the home comfortably sleeps 16 plus there is a futon in the kids play area, however, Lake Lure limits the maximum number of guests in any Lake Lure home to 12.
Bring the entire family together at this resort gem. Luxuriousness, spaciousness, and all the accouterments of fine living await you in this 3-level, 6 bedroom, 5 bath log and fieldstone home overlooking Lake Lure. A vaulted great room with rustic log walls and wide plank wood floors has a bank of windows facing the lake, 2 leather sofas, large fieldstone gas log fireplace, and high definition 50-inch flat screen satellite TV/DVD.
A rich wood dining table seats 10 with 4 additional seats along the breakfast counter. The kitchen features a Jenn-Air ceramic top range, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. Off the great room is an outside deck with 7-person hot tub. On this main level are 2 bedrooms with queen beds, TVs, and private baths (one even has black granite floors, jacuzzi, and shower).
Upstairs are 3 bedrooms: one has 2 queen beds, private balcony, and private bath; the other two bedrooms share a bath and each has a queen bed. Downstairs is the sixth bedroom with 2 queen beds and private bath plus a loft with full-size futon. The large laundry room features full-size washer and dryer. Also on the lower level is a family room with leather sectional sofa, 50-inch flat screen TV, stone fireplace with gas logs, and solid wood table with 6 chairs.
The luxurious mahogany pool table is a recreational centerpiece next to an upscale bar area with sink and refrigerator, for entertaining friends or simply relaxing with family. You're sure to enjoy dining while taking in views of Lake Lure from the large shaded lower-level deck with 2 patio tables, 8 chairs, and a gas barbecue grill. Internet access allows you to stay connected while enjoying all the benefits of a resort vacation at this magnificent home with all brand new furnishings. The perfect choice for a family reunion or rustic retreat.
Located inside the security gates at Rumbling Bald Resort on Lake Lure, this property is professionally managed by the resort. Guests are provided with 24 hour response to any needs that may arise including housekeeping, maintenance, and security. Please note the Resort does not permit motorcycles.
Guests in Highlands Mountain Lodge have access to all resort amenities, and as an added benefit, guests are eligible to receive packaged discounts on resort golf or spa packages, dining and recreational packages. Once you have signed your contract through VRBO, you can coordinate all your activities through the resort rental desk for information and prices on the resort activities.
50% payment required to hold reservation. Remaining 50% required 14 days prior to arrival. 100% refund if cancel 30 days prior to arrival (minus $100 processing fee) $100 cleaning fee and $25 administration fee. Why the Owner Chose Lake Lure
Our family had vacationed in Lake Lure for years because of the beauty of the mountains rolling down to the lake. It is a quite town, but is very family oriented with all lake activities (boating, fishing watersking, siteseeing), Chimney Rock Park, the resort golf courses, tennis, spa, indoor pool, putt putt golf, you name it. One of the kids favorite activities is to go drive around the resort at dusk and take pictures of all the deer, turkey, and other wildlife. We fell in love the the majesty of this home, with its grand views, massive flagstone walls, and the Lodge feel of the interior.

A great place for a gang...

We had a group of families stay over New Years and we all had a great time. The kids loved the entire basement whether running around, playing video games, or having a movie night. It was definitely their favorite place to hang out. The house was well appointed, very comfortable, and worked well for the mix of families we had. Greg the owner and the resort were very responsive to any questions we had while there. We're the only 'local' family and will definitely put this on our list of places to return to. Now if we can only come back with a group of couples without any kids...

My family just got back from a four night stay here. We loved it! The house was so wonderful we did not want to leave it. It was truly like staying in a four star hotel. The staff were so careful about making sure everything was prepared and waiting for our arrival. The Fourth of July fireworks were the best my family has ever seen. For the first time in along time, I finally feel like I have been on vacation! Thank you Rumbling Bald for making my family's vacation extra special

Great home for a family reunion. Very spacious with enough room for kids to play in one area and adults to play in another. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc. Very relaxing and great service from all personnel at the resort!

This house is perfect! A group of us come to Lake Lure every year and this is the best house we have ever stayed in! It spacious, the amenities are fabulous and the views are beautiful and serene. We will come here every year!! Loved it!
