  We rented this home for our family reunion and it was absolutely PERFECT in every way! The home is impeccably kept with spacious gathering areas and lovely bedrooms. The view is spectacular especially from the crystal clear, clean hot tub. Sitting on the deck in the evening, we felt transported to a childhood tree house! We are all cooks and had a wonderful time preparing meals and relaxing at the extra long kitchen table. The kitchen is well stocked however we would suggest bringing your own sharp knives. We had the BEST vacation and took advantage of all the resort has to offer. The grandchildren loved the lazy river pool and the adults enjoyed the spa, tennis courts and lake activities. The staff is friendly and helpful. When we called guest services to report that the gas tank for the grill was empty, someone showed up in minutes with a new one! We were told that the resort was empty during our visit so we can only comment on this week in particular. We never felt crowded at the pool and we had access to all the amenities spur of the moment. The owner was extremely helpful. We had rented a home on the lake that did not meet our expectations and Greg saved our family reunion by arranging for our rental of his magnificient home. Thank you Greg and the staff at Rumbling Bald for making our family reunion most memorable!

  Every year for the past 5 years our family has been meeting at Lake Lure. We come from South Carolina, Tennessee, and three locations in North Carolina. It is the only time all year we can all be together and it is "the best weekend of the year" for all of us. We have stayed at a couple of other properties before finding this JEWEL of a house! It is perfect for our family! And we love having access to all of the facilities at the resort. We will be booking this property again and again. We are looking forward to our next reunion in the fall.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  When we arrived for our wedding weekend, we found the lodging we had reserved, Mountains Highland Lodge, to be breathtakingly beautiful, clean, and decorated immaculately. It was the perfect backdrop for our rehearsal dinner celebration, where guests could meander from the large wrap around porch to the vast living area and kitchen to grab a drink or bite to eat. It was cozy, yet large enouch to easily accommodate a party of 50 guests!

  We had a group of families stay over New Years and we all had a great time. The kids loved the entire basement whether running around, playing video games, or having a movie night. It was definitely their favorite place to hang out. The house was well appointed, very comfortable, and worked well for the mix of families we had. Greg the owner and the resort were very responsive to any questions we had while there. We're the only 'local' family and will definitely put this on our list of places to return to. Now if we can only come back with a group of couples without any kids...

  My family just got back from a four night stay here. We loved it! The house was so wonderful we did not want to leave it. It was truly like staying in a four star hotel. The staff were so careful about making sure everything was prepared and waiting for our arrival. The Fourth of July fireworks were the best my family has ever seen. For the first time in along time, I finally feel like I have been on vacation! Thank you Rumbling Bald for making my family's vacation extra special

  Great home for a family reunion. Very spacious with enough room for kids to play in one area and adults to play in another. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc. Very relaxing and great service from all personnel at the resort!

  This house is perfect! A group of us come to Lake Lure every year and this is the best house we have ever stayed in! It spacious, the amenities are fabulous and the views are beautiful and serene. We will come here every year!! Loved it!
