This attractive and spacious 1600+ sf log cabin is located in the middle of the Pike National Forest, 14 miles northwest of Divide, CO. The cabin is perched on a hill and has a large redwood deck that overlooks the picturesque tree-lined Wildhorn Lake. The lake often attracts deer, elk, moose, martens, silver foxes and many other wildlife species. There is also a diverse bird population in the area including hummingbirds, cranes, wild turkeys, ducks, geese and birds of prey among many others. The peace and quiet are interrupted only by rustling aspen leaves and other sounds of nature.
We warmly welcome guests who seek opportunities for privacy, prayer, meditation, painting, writing, reading, family vacations and enjoyment of nature. The cabin provides a perfect place to relax and temporarily retreat from the cares of life and busyness of "the real world". The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with beautiful hickory cabinets and all the major conveniences of home. Hikers, nature photographers, bird watchers and mountain bikers will find this to be a special place to make new memories and renew family relationships and friendships.
On cooler evenings curl up on the couch by the warmth of a fire in the new wood stove or cook marshmallows over the fire at the new fire ring. There are more than 250+ miles of exhilarating trails to explore in the nearby Pike National Forest. Off-road enthusiasts enjoy the proximity of the trail system right out the door of the cabin. The deck on this traditional log cabin is great for relaxing or grilling out while enjoying the sights and sounds of wildlife along the nearby lake after a day of hiking, riding, sightseeing, biking or just relaxing. On a clear night star gazing is incredible. This is the perfect place to find a true Colorado Rocky Mountain experience.
