Villa Avalon is one of St. Barths' great properties of charm and character. The four bedroom pavillions each have en suite bathrooms. Large terrace around pool area invites casual lounging, and entertaining. The mature, exotic gardens of Latanier palms, fruit trees and night blooming jasmine evoke a memory of the French West Indies lifestyle from long ago. The long driveway leads up to the villa main parking for four cars and entrance stairs. A service road provides further parking for four cars behind the villa with direct access to studio/laundry area and rear entrance to the kitchen/and dining pool area.
Landscape lighting automatically illuminates this tropical paradise at sunset. Mosaic pool with internal lighting sets the theme for poolside entertaining and lounging. Bose home entertainment system has outdoor speakers and indoor surround sound in salon/library.
Unique, open style dining pavilion , adjacent to pool terrace, seats 12 for more formal dinners. There is an outdoor gazebo next to the pool with stone and glass table seats 6 to 8 for lunchtime dining al fresco, overlooking the beautiful Leeward ocean views.
Each room is tastefully decorated with handpainted colonial or west Indian furnishings, mixed with rococo style antiques and paintings. The studio pavillion, has a modern decor with mosaic and glass bathroom as well as a small balcony overlooking the gardens. The laundry/ sitting area has a full kitchen, and is in direct access to the studio entrance.
The lower guest suite is off the stairs going up to the main level pool/dining pavilion. A few steps further up from the pool, dining pavillion, there is a cozy, salon/ library pavilion. The salon gallery has outdoor sitting with rockers to have a drink at sunset, or enjoy a fine Havana cigar and cognac! At the end of the gallery is located a unique rock and mexican tile full bathroom with shower built into the rock. There is a guest suite above, with en suite mexican tile bathroom. This room has a view from the bulls eye window of the ocean and islands in front. It is accessed by the wood staircase on the exterior. There is a rock and Mexican tile bathroom off the side of the salon terrace with rocking chairs to relax in the cool breezes and take in the views.
Further up the stairs is a wood deck, and the entrance to the master suite and large balcony and outdoor breakfast dining.
There is a small breakfast kitchen at the entrance to the master suite, with small oven and coffee maker. The master pavillion has a high, four poster colonial bed with views overlooking the ocean. There are two antique armoires providing his and hers closet space. Stereo C/D player and IPOD docking station. The stone and wood en suite bathroom has beautiful oceanviews.
There is wifi access throughout the villa each bedroom is equipped with a small safe. All bedrooms and salon have air conditioning and paddle fan.
Daily maid service included, with complimentary coffee and buffet breakfast set up. (food provided by client) except Sundays and holidays unless requested in advance at extra charge. Personal laundry service available, as well as a chef, at extra charge.
The managers bungalow is at the foot of the property, providing on-site management as well as concierge service 9:30 to 6:00p.m. There is a friendly boxer on the property that takes care of all property surveillance. Our staff are discreet and experienced in receiving guests from all over the world. Personal laundry can be arranged at an extra fee with the management.
One of the finest features of Avalon, is the accessibility to Flammands beach, which is less than five minutes down the hill by car. Gustavia is a short ten minutes away, and our local bakery, La Petite Colombe, is five minutes up the road, it offers the islands best baguettes , french pastries, as well as delicious food to go.
Avalon offers a rare treat of West Indies lifestyle, rarely found today in St. Barths more modern villas.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa
The sound of the birds singing or watching the waves crashing on the shores of the islands in front of our property. Observing the turtles slowly climb up the driveway hoping to have a snack, or the hummingbirds that hover in the flowers in front of the living room gallery, the iguanas that come and observe us from the rocks. The island breezes.. Night-time treefrogs singing. Roosters that crow in the morning, everything that brings us far from the hectic city life!

Avalon is a small estate situated on one acre in the typical village of Colombier. It was love at first sight when it was purchased in 1989. St. Barths has been our home since then. We love our island lifestyle and although we have professional lives based here on the island, we travel frequently. Avalon has been featured in Danielle Roches new coffee table book, Islands. There are 8 pages that cover the colorful decor, and gardens of our villa as well as the vistas. We hope that the guests that have a chance to stay with us can take time to unwind and enjoy the unparalleled calm and beauty of our island estate.
