One of the best VRBO we have stayed in. Fantastic location, check in and owners were awesome to work with, we couldn't have asked for anything better. The location was ideal and we were a short walking distance to the trolley and other public transportation, wharf location is ideal for segway, shopping, and grocery. No need for a car! My friends and family wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, and we would stay there again if we ever find ourselves in San Fransciso again.

My family of 5 just returned home after staying in this beautiful apartment for a long weekend. It had everything we needed, including a cozy sitting area with fireplace. The bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room were all in excellent condition. This apartment is in the heart of the best part of the city. Gary Danko is right next door. Ghirardelli square is a half a block away. Fisherman's wharf is a quick walk down the hill. The water is so close. And yet, the apartment is off the street and very quiet. Our kids really loved it. We were moving out this morning and my daughter said, "This was so fun!!!" A few things to consider: 1) there is a fairly steep flight of stairs leading down to the main living area, so not great for elderly, toddlers or the disabled. 2) there is no designated parking, but we were able to find street parking every time we went out. 3) if you want to cook, bring your own staples such as olive oil, flour and sugar, spices, etc as these are not stocked. With all that being said, you really cannot go wrong by staying here. This place rocks. We will be back!

Awesome from start to finish, from the staff to the location. Very friendly & accomodating staff. Condo was very clean & well stocked. And the location was fantastic, couldn't have asked for anything better. I stayed there with a group of friends, we were 7 in total. It was the perfect place to come to after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The location was fantastic and we were walking distance to the trolley and other public transportation. Loved the deck, we would retire there at the end of the night with a nice glass of wine. For those who couldn't stand the cold, the fireplace was ideal. Just one thing, I think 6 people can sleep comfortably. The 7th and 8th person should be prepared to sleep in cots or the sofa. I would definitely stay here again and also recommend it to all my friends. As a matter of fact, I just did.

We (2 adults & 3 children) have just spent a week staying at this great property. Would highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting to stay in San Francisco. It was very clean and a great place to relax after exploring this fabulous city. Close to cable car and bus stop, easy walk to lots of great attractions. If you complain about this you would be hard to please.

We were a family of 5 on our first trip to San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. It is a five minute stroll to pier 39. The condo was very clean and spacious just like the pictures and very well maintained. I would totally recommend this condo and would stay here again. The owner was also very helpful and called us to make sure that we had settled in okay.

Where you stay usually does not matter so much when you visit a city like San Francisco but in this case you will find your home away from home enhances your stay immeasurably! The location was phenomenal. We were able to walk everywhere. The place was lovely and had everything we needed. We were greeted warmly by Norman and felt at home immediately! I highly, highly recommend this place. (I rent from VRBO frequently and this home delivers)

Rented this apartment for a 2-day business trip since all hotels in San Fran were booked solid. The owner was very easy to contract with and clearly communicated everything we needed to get into the place. We found it very clean and comfortable. Basic shampoo and soap in the bathrooms were a very nice touch for business travelers who are used to staying in hotels. Location is really second to none from a tourist perspective. Great spot to take a run out towards Golden Gate as well. We'll be back.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, aged 11 and 8. We had a great time in San Francisco and the apartment was just brilliant. So much space and very clean and comfortable. The living space is very large and relaxing. A short walk to Safeway supermarket and less than a block from Ghiradelli's square, Starbucks, the cable car, buses etc. Very well located. The arrival and departure arrangements were straightforward and we had no need to call the manager during our stay.

Your condo was perfect for our family of 4 plus in-laws. We had plenty of space to relax after a day of walking around the city. The pictures accurately reflect what the condo has to offer. We were warmly greeted upon arrival, and all our questions were answered. It truly was a perfect vacation! Condo location is close to Ghirardelli Square and within walking or biking distance to all other attractions San Francisco has to offer. A car isn't necessary, if you're planning on staying in the city, but parking is available at nearby parking garages. If you do have a car, consider driving about an hour north of San Fran to Point Reyes National Seashore. We also took another day to drive to Yosemite National Park - both are well worth your time. You certainly don't want to miss what the city has to offer though. Alcatraz, Cable Cars, Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, Fort Mason, Lombard Street and I could go on and on. I would highly recommend your condo, and if we get out to SF again we will contact you! Thank you!

We were thrilled with our experience. We stayed with our 3 children and another couple and this property is perfect for such an arrangement. Bunk beds and a crib alongside queen bed on main floor were a perfect set-up for our family, and the upper level bedroom and kitchenette were perfect for the couple travelling with us. Kitchen has everything you need and more, TVs in every room, laundry room spacious with top quality washer and dryer. Safe, spotless, comfortable and just steps away from the heart of San Francisco (Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard St, Little Italy, Ghirardelli Square, and more). Would definitely recommend this to others.

This property is as advertised, and provided a great base for our family group of five. The property was clean and thoughtfully decorated, with everything provided for our needs over our four night stay. The owner and building manager were both friendly and helpful throughout our dealings with them. Check in and check out arrangements worked well and one minor maintenance issue identified on arrival was addressed promptly. We have no hesitation recommending this property to others.

We just returned from a 5 night stay in San Francisco and were thrilled with our choice of accommodation. Our group was 2 adults and 3 teenagers, and the set up was perfect for us. The open plan living room/dining/kitchen with fireplace was so inviting and we kept remarking on how much better it was than staying in a couple of hotel rooms. We bought groceries at Trader Joe's and ate breakfast in, taking advantage of the modern and fully appointed kitchen, but were mostly out and about for lunch and dinner and were able to enjoy the many bars and restaurants in the neighborhood - Ghirardelli, Buena Vista, Kamekyo sushi, Tiernan's and of course Fisherman's wharf. The location could not have been more central yet quiet and residential feeling. We are a family of runners and enjoyed several scenic runs in Fort Mason and Crissy Field. We rented a car to visit friends in Berkeley and Silicon Valley, but you really don't need one staying here. In fact that would be the only thing we would do differently, since there is limited on-street parking and we kept having to move the car every 2 hours during the day. This condo is highly recommended!!!!!

This is the most amazing condo. It is so spacious, clean and in a perfect location. We stayed for 2 nights only, but wish it were longer!! Being from Australia, this was our first time in renting through VRBO. The experience was excellent. Johnson and Norman were great to deal with. check in was very easy, condo is so well equipped, they even supply wasking powder! Being first timers in SF it was so helpful to use their computer & internet when we arrived to work out public transport etc. The Powell & Hyde cable car just down the hill - so close, the Pier also a very easy walk not to mention Ghiradelli choclates just a few houses up. We used the "hop on hop off" bus service. This was very good as you get a pass for 48 hrs. These buses begin just down near the pier, so easy walk to/from condo. We highly reccommend this condo to everyone. Our 2 daughters absolutely loved their own space with their own bathroom. We all slept so well after walking the streets of SF! We are hoping to get back to SF, for longer next time and will most definately stay here again. Thanks to Johnson & Norman for their hospitality!

We are a family with four children, ranging in age from 3 to 16 and this was a perfect vacation spot for us due to the variety of activities available. It is close to the cable car and bus routes, within walking distance to many tourist spots (Fisherman's Wharf, the ferry to Alcatraz, Ghirardelli Square), bike rental shop, grocery store and restaurants. The rental was clean and provided a computer with internet access, which came in handy when trying to find our way around. The downstairs bedroom was a great place for the kids; it had a "separate" bunk bed alcove which allowed some privacy. The owner and manager were very easy to work with. I have already recommended this rental to friends!

Absolutely wonderful house, owner and location. Exactly as pictured and spotlessly clean. The cable car and 2 major bus lines are less than a block away. Walk to Ghirardelli, the Wharf and so many restaurants and bars with live music. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in SF. The layout worked great for our three generations-two couples and one grandson. Stay here-park the car, buy MUNI passes and SF is amazingly easy to tour.

This last weekend myself and the other bridesmaides treated the bride to be to a weekend in the City. The condo is beautiful. We all felt 12 agian, both suites are great for slumber party style fun. It is a great location, close to Ghirardelli Square, Hyde Street Cable car turnaround. It was very easy to get to Union Square and it took less than 10 minutes. I would definately consider staying here agian and will refer this place to family and friends.

We loved this condo. The description in the listing is quite accurate and the furnishings are even more beautiful in person. The property is immaculate, spacious and we especially enjoyed the fireplace. The managers were both very helpful and willing to answer our questions. We had a fabulous location. Our favorite neighbor restaraunts were the Buena Vista ( for Irish Coffee and yummy breakfast) and Tiernan's ( for live entertainment in the evening) they are literally right around the corner. We were lucky enough to be there for the Chinese New Year parade and had a wonderful dinner at Hunan Home's in Chinatown! We would love to stay at this property again!!

My family (4 adults and two little girls aged 3 and 7) traveled from Italy to San Francisco and spent two weeks at the condo over the Christmas period. A couple of longtime American friends joined us for part of the holidays. As soon as we walked in, we felt it would be "our" Christmas home and the 2 weeks confirmed that first impression. The house was well-maintained, comfortable and so well equipped to make any bunch of home cooked meals addicts happy. The two levels provided privacy and the two bathrooms prevented any pounding on the bathroom door by hurried customers! The layout of the kitchen/living area favored companionship and sharing between those of us who were busy with pots and pans and those who were playing, reading , chatting or surfing the web. The little girls in particular liked the coziness of the condo, especially the living room area & fireplace so much that it was sometimes hard to drag them out for sightseeing & exploring. Locationwise, the place was perfect: close to bus and cable car stops, close to some of the most famous tourist places and to restaurants and supermarkets and still very quiet. The owner with whom we had been in touch for almost a year greeted us with a hug on arrival and was throughout our stay extremely helpful whenever we had a request (when it turned out the barbecue was not working and we had steaks ready to go on the grill, in came another barbecue!). Even comments we made after departure, suggesting improvements were gladly accepted and no doubt carried into practice. We would not only recommend this place to friends or relatives but certainly hope to be able ourselves to stay there again in the future.

Close to everything you need to enjoy San Fran. 50 ft away from the cable car, 2 blocks from ghirardelli chocolates, walk up to Lombard street, restaurants everywhere, 5 minute walk to the beach or to Fisherman's Grotto, 10 min walk to Pier 39. The condo itself is quiet, In a safe location, and minimal so you have what you need without any clutter or feeling that your staying in someones house. A back deck and BBQ, clean, full sized appliances, large living room.... everything you need to rest after a day of touring. Two couples shared this condo but you keep your privacy because you're on two levels with an upper level and lower level bedrooms. Highly reccomend over an over priced and tiny hotel room.

My family consisting of 5 Adults and 3 Children recently stayed 5 nights in this condo and had a fantastic time. Johnson the Owner and Norman the Manager are extremely helpful and easy to deal with and are available at all times to assist with any queries. The property itself is large and has all amenities required including a modern kitchen and large laundry with washing powder supplied. There were personal touches like baby shampoo in the bathrooms for the toddlers. The free internet access was great for us to be able to look up tourist information. You do not need a car when staying here as you are walking distance to everything (Fisherman’s wharf, Buses, Trolley Cars, Trams and Restaurants). We wish we had spent more time in San Francisco to enjoy the Condo itself and the outside balcony/ BBQ area. We felt safe in this property and we all agree this Condo made our trip to San Francisco more enjoyable and we will be back again to stay, hopefully soon! We would definitely recommend this property and agree with all other reviews listed.

I stayed in the unit with my parents and my aunt and uncle from Germany (5 adult persons) and it was great, as it was big enough to allow for privacy for each party. The two floors, with a bathroom and bedroom on each floor, are excellent for two parties traveling together. The inside of the unit is very clean and well-maintained. A big kitchen and a nicely furnished living room make it easy to relax and feel at home. We also enjoyed the fireplace, as it can be quite chilly in San Francisco even in the summer time. The beds are good to sleep in, not too soft, not too hard. My parents loved the big laundry room which is hidden behind the mirror in the downstairs bathroom; big enough to easily hang up delicate clothes to air-dry and lots of room to fold your laundry. The deck outside is lovely but as you are living in a city with other people you can smell them cooking as some fans blow air from other apartments into the little yard below the deck. It must be said that having a garden deck in that location is unique and I did not see other houses in the area which had one. There is a barbeque on the deck but we did not use it as we were almost always eating out (so easy in that neighborhood). The garden unit has an excellent location, a lot of attractions are in walking distance, everything else can be reach by public transportation. The cable car and the bus stop are only 1-2 minutes to walk to from the entrance of the unit. Ghirardelli Square and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant with excellent food and a view of the Golden Gate bridge are only 5 minutes away when walking. Surprisingly enough the unit with most of its windows on the back of the building is quite, you can hardly hear any street noise, in spite of its great location in a busy neighborhood. We did send a package from San Francisco to Seattle and when it was returned because it wasn't labled the correct way, the owner was very helpful, labeled it again in the correct way and send it away. I would definitely recommend the unit to my friends and other relatives. We hope the unit is available the next time when we will visit San Francisco.

The listing of this property was accurate in relation to location, appearance and amentities. Owner was very helpful and responded quickly to questions/concerns. Would definitely recommend this property to others - particularly if you do not have a car as it is accessible on foot to wharf, street cars, restaurants. Only downside was that the pull out cots had very thin mattresses and not very comfortable for teens. Really enjoyed the patio and access to the computer! We found a delightful restaurant with patio in the "Cannery" that was great for an outdoor breakfast (only a couple of blocks from the condo).

My family of 5 stayed in this townhouse for 5 days this past week. I would definitely recommend it, especially to families. My husband and I had our own room, bathroom and kitchenette upstairs, and my kids had plenty of room in the bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The unit is very modern and in great condition with everything you need. The location can't be beat -- we were able to easily walk to many of the places we wanted to go, and the cable car stop is just steps away. I will absolutely stay here again when I come back to San Francisco!

We stayed at this location for 4 nights First up for those who dont know ..San Francisco is a great city for tourists ...and this place helps you enjoy your tourism The first thing that stands out about this location once you get there is its excellent location...It is a very short walk to Fishermans Wharf which puts you right in the middle of the tourist area of San Francisco plus gives you excellent access to Trolley cars, Tourist sight seeing buses and the electric trams...A large safeway is on North Point Street although a bit of a walk. I always find ease of transportation make enjoying a city like San Francisco a must...I would recommend buying a Muni Pass here as you can use it on buses, trams and Trolley cars There are also good eating places nearby would recommend Cafe Buena Vista and the Vietnamese Resatuarant both just found the corner on Hyde Street for good but reasonably priced food..stay away from restaurants on fishermans wharf which although Ok are not that good in food or value...There are a number of higher class restaurants in the area including one on the corner of Hyde and North Point street if that is your preferred format The place is in a relatively quiet street ,,,With two effective areas with bathrooms and double beds it easily accomodated 2 couples separately...If you wanted to eat in the kitchen is excellent with very modern appliances Its interior condition is excellent and appears to have been significantly updated recently..Both Bedrooms are large in size We found the owner most helpful when we needed to adjust our check in and check out times

We had an amazing time in this spacious location!! The owner was very friendly and accomodating to our requests. We had 4 adults in this location for almost a week and we had PLENTY of room to have a BBQ, play dominoes in the dining area and to lounge around when not embarking on adventures in the city. We were literally steps away from Fisherman's Warf, a trolley car stop, some great dining, and shopping! We practically walked everywhere which made everything even more appealing. If you have the chance, you should stay in this amazing little townhouse!

We stayed in the unit for 3 nights this week and loved it. The condo was very clean and everything looked new. I loved the shower in the downstairs bath! The downstairs bedroom was very quiet and we slept great the whole time. The upstairs bedroom had some noise from the unit above, but not bad. The location is awesome for spending time at Fisherman's Wharf or jumping on the trolley to go to Union Square or China Town. We arrived on a weekend and had a really hard time finding parking, I believe there was a special event going on and they had several parking garages closed, so I don't think this is typical. We have stayed at a couple of VRBO's and they usually have a binder with local restaurant menus, where to shop for groceries and how to work the tv remote, etc. I think it would be a nice addition to this condo, otherwise, perfect! Oh yes, the laundry facilities were awesome, too, with detergent provided! Definitey stay here instead of a hotel if you have more than two people traveling in your party, you can't beat the price!

For others who are light sleepers looking for a quiet place in SF, look no further. The condo is away from street noise but steps from cable and bus lines. There is no need for a car if you stay in this condo. The computer that is provided helped us very much while looking for tours (check out free tours at sfcityguides.org), restaurants and just checking email and Facebook. The owners have done a wonderful job anticipating needs such as washing powder for the provided wash machine, shampoo, hair dryer etc. just like in a hotel. Don't pay high hotel prices and taxes. This condo is fabulous. Also, the owners responded to all emails within hours, not days. We would definately stay here again.

6 of us (4 adults and 2 children ages 5 and 7) just spent 3 fantastic days/nights at Johnson's Garden Unit near Fisherman's Wharf. Location truly cannot be beat. We had a car but walked to many places. Overnight parking was easily available a few blocks away (or right in front if you got lucky!). Norman (the property manager) was awesome. He met us upon our arrival and proceeded to drive me around the vicinity of the rental to show me likely parking areas. Tons of amenities in the unit. Would stay there again for sure.

We spend a week in the accommodation between Christmas and New Year. Everything was perfect. Clean, tidy and well equipped. Walking distance to Wharf, lots of public transport options just minutes away. Location, location, location as the realtors say!

Thank you for a wonderful place to say. The location was absolutely perfect. You could be at Ghiradelli or the cable cars, or fishermans warf in a matter of minutes. The condo was immaculate. It had all the comforts of home but right in the heart of San Francisco. It was perfect for our family. My three young kids ask to go back almost daily. I would highly reccomend this house to anyone. We will definitely be back.

This is the perfect plact to stay in San Francisco. The unit is centrally located and you can walk to all the fun locations....Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square and the list goes on. The place itself is gorgeous. It looks just like the pictures, if not even better! The kitchen is perfect for meals at home and the beds are very comfortable. I highly reccomend this unit. We had 3 couples staying in the unit and it was very spacious. We hope to come back for another vacation!

Beautiful space with an amazing location!!! Modern, elegant, very clean, and comfortable. Public transportation including cable cars nearly right at your door step. All the details were covered which made for a wonderful stay. Very pleasant and responsive communication from the owner. Highly recommend and will come back the next time we visit San Francisco.

We enjoyed staying in your beautiful home. The location was great, walking distance to the wharf and public transportain to all that we wanted to see and do. The two seperate living quarters gave both couples privacy. On the nights we cooked in we found the kitchen provided all we needed. We especially liked the private garden for relaxing after a busy day of fun.

We had the best San Francisco vacation ever, and it was because we had such a wonderful place to stay. The condo was immaculately clean, and well stocked with supplies. We could make meals, and just relax and enjoy each other's company in a comfortable, beautiful setting. We walked to many places because of the great location. Thank you so much for such beautiful accommodations.

What wonderful accomodations for our family - the perfect location to be able to enjoy our daughter's wedding at The Argonaut - a short walk down Hyde street! Your hospitality and attention to details made our trip so memorable. Thank you for attending to our needs so quickly when the grill ran out of gas! We didn't miss a beat for our steak dinner! This is the perfect spot - so close to everything and so quiet in the evening. My nephew took many photos of our accomodations to show all his friends what a lovely place we stayed in! Thank you again - peace and happiness to you!

This was one of the best vacations we ever had! Without a doubt, the location is so wonderful and walking distance to the pier, trolleys and cable cars. No driving needed! The unit was so complete with every detail thought of. So beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Everything you need and more! Quite a high-class place. We were treated so well and it was a pleasure doing business with the owner of the unit. Very personable and one of the most outstanding people I've ever met. This will be a place we'll come back to again, without a doubt. We weren't disappointed with anything. Thank you for a great vacation!!!! Can't wait to come back!

Thank you so much for your professional service. We loved your unit. It was very nicely remodeled and decorated. We felt very comfortable living there. We had 2 cars that we parked at the end of Van Ness. We kept switching their position after 4 hours so that we could park there throughout the day. We liked to eat and shop in Union Square and the Marina, and we found bus #30 quite useful to get to these two areas. Our toddlers loved the experience of riding the bus and cable car as well. We'll recommend your place to our friends.

We love our stay in your fabulous accomodation. "I love this place, I like it, I like the quacking duck, I like all the pictures, I like the big TV, I like the cushions and the plants in pots, And the vases. That's all" says Elisabeth (aged 3 1/2) Thank for all your help with parking suggestions, Norman, much appreciated. Our only "complaint" is that all the great amenities in your fabulous apartment make it for too tempting to stay in rather than heading out to explore your fancinating city!! Thanks, we'll be back we hope.
