Built to blend into it's tropical environment, Casa Aguas Vivas is an elegant work of indigenous materials that makes a clear statement of individuality. The palapa roofs and river stone blend, meshing with the ocean, palms and pools to create a romantic and unique home that lets you know you are in MEXICO!!
The curvilinear architecture and stairways defy straight walls and interior convention as does the outdoor dining area and swim up bar under a classic palapa umbrella. A cobblestone stairway from the palapa bar to the ocean places you onto a mile of white sugar fine sand known as Los Veneros (the source). The home smartly incorporates function and form while allowing the building site, natural setting, and views to speak for themselves.
The two story home has 3 bedroom suites, which take advantage of the spectacular vistas in all directions. To the east, from the upstairs master bedroom, the sunrise pours in from Puerto Vallarta across the tops of the trees in the tropical forest. The distant view across the Bahia Banderas is the southernmost tip known as Cabo Corrientes, while in the immediate foreground there is a magnificent view of surf and coral reefs from 50 feet above sea level. The view to the west encompasses the remainder of the bay and sunsets that fade behind the Mariettas Islands.
Native "parota" hardwood was cut and milled by local craftsmen to form the windows, doors and some of the furnishings inside the home.
There are 3 surf breaks just down the stairs and within 500 yards of the house. A reef break in front, a beach break to the south and a cobblestone point to the north....give quite a variety in a very short distance!
