Gorgeous 1 bedroom cottage in a private lakefront resort on Clearlake. Clearlake is the second oldest lake in the world. Spectacular bass fishing right outside your front door. Our new private dock with a locking gate, stretches out and amazing 300ft from shore and pampers your boat, there is a huge fire pit for relaxing after a long day on the water, and a rec room for a few games of pool as well as a ping pong table. Picnic tables and a built in brick BBQ are right outside your door.
Mallard House sits inside Bell Haven Resort, a historical resort on the shore of Clearlake. The resort grounds are 3.5 acres, fully fenced and gated. The property is shared with 4 other cottages so meeting new friends around the fire at night is pretty common.

Konocti Vista Casino: Konocti Vista Casino is 5 minutes up the road. For boat rentals contact Disney Boat Rentals in Lakeport, about 6 miles up the road from us.
Bass Fishing: Clearlake is the #1 Bass lake in the Nation. Bring your boat and your fishing pole. We have a new private dock sitting at the end of a 200ft pier. There is great fishing right off the dock!! I have caught 7 and 8 pound bass right from the dock at sunset.
Our pier has a locking gate on it so you can feel safe leaving your boat tied up to our dock for your entire stay, we also have parking for you car and boat trailer inside the gated resort.
Our full-time caretakers are on the premises and are there to answer any questions you might have throughout your stay.
Come back and see us again real soon: We get lots of return guests each year as well as many new ones. After a nice stay up here, our guests say they can't wait to comeback, and that it was very relaxing.
If you are coming up to water ski, Clear Lake is the largest lake in California, and the skiing does not get much better than this, with cove after cove of glass just waiting for you to carve them up.
Take our kayaks or the row boat across the bay to the State Park and have a picnic lunch on the other side, shoot a few relaxing games of pool in the rec room, or a lively few games of Ping Pong after dinner, or just sit out on the dock and watch the sun go down with a nice bottle of wine and some good cheese purchased from the Summer Farmers Market just down the road from us.

We stayed at the Mallard House and it was well equipped with everything you would need in the kitchen. It was obvious that the cottage had been re-decorated recently. However, my MAIN concern was the horrible quality bed. The mattress was so hard & lumpy that I had a backache for a week after we arrived home. Also, they need to hire another houskeeper because the bed linens were dirty and stained..ewww gross and let's not even talk how un-sanitary that is. My husband and I took our personal towels we brought & laid them on the sheets and slept that way every night. In addition, its a very old building, so be prepared for cold nights (despite a little electric heater in the bedroom & living room, it was still really cold, especially in the bathroom). However, for the price, you can't beat what you get, and it is very safe and beautiful, and within literally a 30-second walk to shoreline. We spent many summer vacations with family in Lakeport and on the Lake skiing. Years later, we were headed back up to the Lake for a family wedding. We wanted to look for a cottage to rent for the weekend for our family of 4, 2 adults, and 2 college+ children. How happily and pleasantly surprised we were finding Mallard Cottages in Bell Haven Resort! The grounds were beautiful, the caretakers both professional and friendly, and the cottage exactly as pictured and described. We felt welcomed and comfy and cozy. The canopies of trees and lush plants made for a wonderful, peaceful outdoor experience. The caretakers made sure we were all set and were available as needed, or unseen in the background meticulously maintaining. Communication with the owner and the handling of all paperwork was done seamlessly and professionally. We had the most amazing sunset on the Lake as well as enjoyed kayaking around the cove and swinging in the swing set. Our eventful days wound down to quiet, peaceful nights in the cottage. We didn't have time to enjoy a fire around the outdoor fireplace, but it is something we will do next time. We will definitely return to Mallard Cottages/Bell Haven Resort in the future. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Feeling like you need a nap? Grab one of the lounge chairs down on the lakefront lawn and drift off to the sounds of gentle waves lapping at the shoreline. Feeling like some competition? Grab a pool cue, ping pong paddle or a volley ball and a few friends, (new or old), and have at it. Wanna kickback and watch a movie? The rec room has a TV with over 250 movies. If fishing or boating is your thing, our private, brand new dock extends out from shore an impressive 300ft, assuring your boat will be pampered for your entire stay. You are welcome to leave your boat tied up to our dock for your entire stay eliminating the need to launch every day. Our property is fully gated with a locking gate on the pier. Fishing in Soda Bay is thought by many to be the best fishing on the lake, and I've personally taken 7lb Bass right off the dock. Come on up and dip your toes in and see what lots of other folks already know. Mallard Cottages are a great place to head up to for a weekend or a week. Hi. My wife and I were looking to get away for a long weekend, and your cottages were the perfect place. Thankfully you do not accept pets, one of us is pretty allergic unfortunately, but with your places being pet free there wasn't any problems. The BBQ grill was put to good use, and the large TV and DVD player allowed us to just head up and be couch potatos for the weekend, although we did do some kayaking on the second day across the bay to the State Park for a picnic. Hello there, Found your gorgeous cabin on CL, stayed June 30th thru July 4th weekend. I saw the Scorpions concert at the resort there, the concert rocked, and your cottages and resort grounds are beautiful. Why the Owner Chose Kelseyville:
Having a vacation rental on Clearlake made sense to us because it was a place we always loved to come and stay. The feeling you get on our side of the lake is different than over on the developed side. The Soda Bay area in Kelseyville is more of a throwback to a quieter time, no crowds, no traffic, small eateries and quiet spaces.
