The perfect private rental for: family trips, golf outings, vacation get-a-ways, or 4 wheeling and snowmobile excursions. We have year round rental available at our amazing vacation home on Squash Lake near Rhinelander, Wisconsin. On the first floor is a bedroom with 2 double sized beds and one single bed and 1 full bath. Also the kitchen, dining room, and living room are openly laid out and picture windows provide amazing views of the lake. The dining room and living room have pine paneled walls and vaulted ceilings. There is a beautiful wood burning fireplace in the living room. On the bottom floor are 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and 2 singles,the other has a double and 1 single and another bathroom with shower. There is also a mud room.
Out side there is a patio and a deck. A gradually declining slope with stairs, leads down to the water front. Squash Lake is spring fed and crystal clear. The beach is all sand with a small slope into the water, perfect for kids of all ages. The lake also has two islands; the bigger is home to an eagles nest with frequent eagle sightings. Loons and Blue herons are sighted frequently in front of the property. Squash Lake is also one of the few lakes in northern Wisconsin to have had sightings of fresh water jellyfish.
For the outdoors man, the fishing on the lake includes Small and Large Mouth Bass, Northern, Walleye, Brown Trout, and pan fish. Snowmobile trails are across the street from our property and the Oneida county four wheel trail is only a short drive away. A canoe and paddle boat are included in the rental. There is also a dock for your use if you bring a boat.
Nearby Rhinelander offers a variety of family restaurants, local bars and pubs, grocery stores, and convenience stores. Northwoods golf course is also only a short distance down Hwy 8 and offers some spectacular golfing. Also while in town watch for Hodag sightings!!

This was our first time at this cottage and I searched for months to find a cottage with a sandy beach and gentle slope into the water for our little ones and it was perfect.We fished every night and always caught bluegill, bass and a few perch right off the pier. The swiming raft was a plus along with the paddle boat, canoe and kyaks. The house was beatiful too with plenty of ceiling fans and breathtaking views from the picture window were we ate our breakfast.The house had plenty of options for sleeping and I think next time we would bring more people along because there is so much room.The neighbors were also very friendly and inviting and the owners were very gracious, kind and thoughtful when we needed anything or just to ask a simple question. This was our first visit to this property and we have nothing but great comments about our visit. A few years ago we started renting a lakeside property and inviting our kids and grand babies to join us and it's been something they all look forward to. Our son-in-law grew up on Squash Lake and he said if you ever have a chance to get something there....well that's all it took and we're so glad we did. The accommodations are super and the lake offers both fishing and other water sports. There's something for all ages on the property and off. The local communities have many activities that will give you things to do for day trips or when it rains. We're already planning on another visit next year so don't be afraid of trying this one....I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
