It is also only a short distance from Santa Monica's great shopping streets and a convenient 15 minute drive to the international airport LAX. For those who like to cook - the most amazing grocery market - Whole Foods - is only two blocks away.
The house has a king size bed, linens and towels, a full kitchen, DVD and wide screen TV, all HBO, Showtime and ESPN channels, free and fast WIFI internet access (24mbit), heaters, a record collection and player, comfortable and modern furniture, a full kitchen with gas oven, fridge, coffee maker and blender and a private, sunny patio with lots of plants and a sun tent. A great place to relax.
We provide beach cruisers with locks for our guests - the best way to get around in Venice and live like a local. Venice is also a great walking neighborhood with it's canals, walk-streets and excellent clothing shops, street cafes, galleries and 15+ excellent restaurants only three blocks away.
Our prices are all inclusive - we do not charge any extra cleaning fees, registration fees nor taxes.

As soon as I saw this listing, I knew it was for me! It definitely did not disappoint. The pictures do not do the space justice. The interior design is awesome, clean and cozy. I enjoyed my coffee on the patio in the mornings, and it is very easy to get around LA from this location. Quiet an relaxing in the evenings, after a day of exploring various parts of LA. Alison is totally awesome and accommodating. Having the cruiser bikes on hand was a mega bonus. Lots of street parking available made having a rental car to get around that much easier. i can't say enough good things about this place. Will definitely come back and stay again!!

Venice Beach Place is an oasis in the mixed suburbs of Venice. See what it's like to live there. It's a small place, but for me, it covered the necessities, a kitchen, shower, and comfortable king size bed. The late afternoon sun makes the kitchen and garden such a wonderful place to hang out. It is walking distance from Whole Foods Market and a bunch of little restaurants. The garden is beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay.

My wife and I visited LA for a 4-day mini vacation and this place was perfect. The price is right and the location is great - walking distance (within 1 mile) from Whole Foods, lots of great dining options, and the beach. The cottage/studio is clean and well designed. It is small, but perfect for a vacationing couple. The kitchen area is well thought out to make use of the limited space, although a bit under equipped. A few more pots/pans and some decent knives (Forschner Victorinox knives are a great quality/value) would be a great improvement. The wireless internet is nice, but the signal seemed to come and go. Alison (the owner) was super friendly and let us know that she was only a phone call away for any questions/issues. We didn't have cause to call, but it's good to have such an accommodating rental owner. She also made some great recommendations for dining and sight seeing. Highlights... #1) Two cruiser bikes - perfect for getting around the neighborhood and people watching. The best part of our trip was riding the bikes up and down the beach and soaking in the quintessential SoCal ambiance. #2) Very pleasant, private outdoor patio with table and BBQ grill - we didn't use the grill, but nice to know it's there. Great place for a peaceful morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. #3) Music options! A record player with a neat selection of records was very cool. Also there is an iPod/iPhone dock which also doubles as an alarm clock to hook up your own music too. #4) King size bed. Rare to find a rental with a bed this large. I would absolutely stay here again if I visit LA again, and I would highly recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay at the cottage in Venice Beach. It's super close to everything. The description is accurate only we thought it looked even better in person than in the pics. The use of the beach cruisers was great. The king bed is very comfortable and the cottage is equipped with all you will need. Perfect for a couple who want to be close to the beach, restaurants, shopping and galleries. It's in an ideal location to allow you to feel safe and be able to just relax. Alison is a great host and had some awesome tips for where to go and what to see but allows your stay to be very private. We will definitely stay here next time we come to Los Angeles. Thanks so much!

I recently stayed at Alison's guest house for three nights. I found everything to be excellent and the location was perfect. The bed is one of the most comfortable king beds - with the most high quality duvet and feather pillows. I slept great all three nights. It had surprising privacy and it's own lovely little terrace. I was pleased to see that it had an outdoor grill - just for the guest's use, even though I personally did not do any grilling. The kitchen is basic but had most everything needed to cook any meal imaginable. There is no microwave, but I did not find that to be a problem. Probably the best part was just sitting out on my own private terrace and then enjoying dinner al fresco in the evenings with my daughter who had just moved into the area. Alison is a lovely hostess and made me feel very comfortable and safe. I imagine you could ask her for any item if you found it lacking. She was quite accomodating, yet, left me alone to enjoy my time in paradise. I highly recommend this little studio guest house and hope to return some time with my husband. It's a perect place for 2 people.
