We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is very nice, roomy and well equipped. Although the house is in Arabi it is quite convenient, if you have a car. I would highly recommend this property.

The house was beautiful, clean and well kept. It is very spacious and had plenty of room for our party of 8 people. The Arabi deli down the block had very good food. We ate there for lunch the first day and for breakfast. It was easy to get around from Arabi to the many places we visited; plantation, swamp tour and in town. The only criticism is they weren't well stocked on toilet paper or dish detergent, and maybe that was something we were supposed to get ourselves. We weren't sure. Other than that, everything was great. Thanks for sharing

Wonderful family rental! Our family had a wonderful spring break at this rental. The home is gorgeuos! The pictures are great but the real thing is so much better. The beds were comfortable and had very nice linens. The bathrooms are clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The neigborhood is nice and the neighbors are very friendly. We enjoyed walking to the corner market in the morning for fresh coffee and biscuits, we will definitely miss that. Also, swinging on the porch swing watching the ships go by. This home is surrounded by so much history, there are plenty of things to see in such a small vicinity. We had a rental car and the french quarter is a short drive away. There are really no negatives to this rental home we had an amazing time and would love to visit again!

The most amazing house! We had the best time in NOLA and a lot of it had to do with this house. A bunch of girlfriends and I gathered for a weekend of fun. This house is beautiful and the people in the area are so friendly. There was a cute little farmers market right behind the house that we bought produce from. Some lovely people gave a few of my friends a tour of their home they rebuilt after the flood. We walked down to the Mississippi and drank our morning coffee. Getting around was so easy. The taxi company was great though we had a rental car also. I recommend the amazing and free historical battlefield site down the road. All and all a great place to relax and recover from having a little to much fun at the piano bar. Way better than being stuck in a hotel room. All the comforts of home you could ever want.
Owner response:Thank You so very much for this wonderful review. I'm so happy that you had a wonderful stay. I feel blessed to be able to share my special home with great people who want to visit our city. Thank you! Jami :)

This was a great place at the end of the night to relax and play games with friends. It was clean and had beautiful furniture. On a quiet street and not too far from all the action. Several days we walked up to the bus and took the bus into town to avoid the parking headache on the weekend. I would stay again!!

Four sisters and my best friend stayed in this wonderful house. When we went touring New Orleans, we would be excited about going " HOME" as we called it. It truly was a home away from home and we hope to go and stay there the next trip down south. I would say it rated definately excellent. Judy Knight

1st of all, we were in New Orleans for a family wedding, and I was looking for a place that where several of my famility members could stay together. The house was, to say the least, well above our expectations. The pictures are great, but they don't do it justice. The rooms are large, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are great. Except, for food andf personnal items we didn't need anything. It was provided. We used the laundry facilities, dishwasher, internet. Everything was great! The back porch was relaxing and comfortable, even in the New Orleans heat. The location is just off St Claude Ave which runs directly into North Rampart which is in the French Quarter. Maybe a 10-15 Minute drive depending on traffic. There are plenty places to get whatever you may need within the Arabi community. And all within a couple miles of the house. There are several historical sites within just a few miles of this area, such as the Battle of New Orleans. Arabi is on the French Quarter side of the city, so you don't have to drive through the congested areas to get there. It actually is easy in and out. The river is literally 3-4 bolcks from the house. It's great! Well, we had a great time and this house just added to it. We hated to leave! I would suggest this place for any families, or larger groups of people. You are close enough to New Orleans to get to anywhere in a short period of time. It is a much better place to stay than areas closer to the Metairie. Safety: At no time, when we were in the community or around the house, did we ever feel unsafe coming or going. The area is no different than a normal urban suburb. If you still have any concerns then there are a couple Sherriff's deputies that also live in the neighborhood. The owners were great to deal with and if we go back I hope this house is still available.

I recently stayed at the Dimitrios House in Arabi, and I am sooo glad I did! The house was a perfect choice for my group! First off, the house is so cute. It comes FULLY equipped with everything you'd need, including pots, pans, plates, cups, Internet access, trash bags, etc. It's very spacious, so there's lots of places to relax. The rooms are gorgeously decorated, and the beds are very comfy. Secondly, the house is very conveniently located. The Arabi Food Store is minutes down the street. We walked there several times. Let me tell you...this place was great! The food was very yummy, and the customer service was impeccable. The owners made us feel very welcome! Additionally, there's a Dollar General less than 5 minutes away by car. Lastly, the airport is 30 minutes away, and pretty easy to get to. The French Quarter is 15 min away. This is really a great home. The neighborhood is safe. We drove through an area hit by Katrina a few blocks away. My group had a fantastic time! Jami Dimitrios, the owner of the house, was very nice and easy to work with. We had no payment issues, and she answered all of my last minute questions. She has also created a great little home that made our trip perfect!!! I will definitely come back to stay here.
Owner response:Thank YOU!!! We are delighted you had a wonderful time! Please visit us again when you come back!!!

Our stay at this wonderful property was amazing. The house is well appointed and beautifully decorated to give one the feeling of being in "old" New Orleans. we had small children with us and the yard and porch were wonderful places for playing. The owners were available if there was a problem and stayed in touch with us throughout our planning and staying. My daughters with little ones were especially thrilled to see pack n plays available for their use. The only minor problems we encountered was the key sticking in the front door and the electrical outlets in the downstairs bathroom were not working. I am sure the owners have taken care of these minor repairs. One concern is the safety of the tree house. Little ones should not be up there without adults as the floors are old and a bit unsteady. The same applies to adults who may venture up there. Again, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the home and the proximity to the French Quarter and Wal Mart.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your review. I'm happy you loved our home. I had new keys made for the front door, it was a bad copy. The GFI outlet was tripped in the downstairs bath so the outlet was not on. Sorry about that. The tree house survived hurricane Katrina. It is not safe and never recommend people up there. I posted signs on the tree house advising others not to climb up there. It's 10 years, old my husband built it for our children. It's a cool tree house but unsafe at the moment..I'm working on having him remove the ladder. I'm happy you had a great stay. Please visit us again when coming to NOLA..

A few friends and I got together for the Halloween weekend and this place was just right for our gathering. It may seem a bit off the beaten path but it is not. Just a short cab ride to Bourbon or Frenchman and very nice place to be when you weren't out enjoying the city. It is roomy and has a great backyard and porch. It had everything you could ask for, including kind neighbors. I would recommend this home to anyone wishing to enjoy New Orleans but also be able to get away from the hustle bustle.
Owner response:Thank you..thank you! You were a great guest. I'm happy you had a great time!

My group was thrilled with the house. We had plenty of room, and all the conveniences of home. The tree house was an added bonus! The internet was fast and easy to access, the kitchen immensely usable. We had no complaints at all. Much larger and more spacious than the pictures led us to believe. Beautifully cared for. And the whole street is lovely.

Not only was this house beautiful and convinently located 10 minutes from the quarter. The owner was great. We left a large item behind and she helped us return it. I would highly recommend this house for rental. The house was beatiful and fully stocked for use with all the amenities. You may want to be closer to the quarter but this house is well worth the 10 minute drive.

We spent Christmas week at your beautiful house with our three sons and our daughter-in-law. We enjoyed the elegant living and dining rooms, the comfortable bedrooms with nice bathrooms, and your well-equipped kitchen. The house is only about a 10-minute drive to the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans, so it was easy to see the sights there. We also had a good time talking to your neighbors who are very proud of the restoration of the "yellow house." We had some interesting discussions about how 90 percent of the people living in the Arabi neighborhood have returned following Katrina and Rita and what a good place Arabi is to live. We heartily recommend your house and look forward to visiting again!

I rented this house for one night before our cruise left New Orleans. We had 8 people and after a 11 hour drive from Oklahoma the house was a perfect place to stay the night. The house is absolutely gorgeous and the furnishings wonderful. We had such a great time together in the house and it also gave us all privacy if needed. The kids loved the front porch swing and my husband and I loved sitting on the back porch. Everything was in order and the price was great. Your pictures don't do this place justice. Very wonderful experience.

My friend and I rented this house because we came to New Orleans to compete in the Great Urban Race National Championship. So, we needed a place that was quiet and roomy enough for the people we brought with us that were assisting us in the race. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived because pictures on VRBO just don't do this house justice. It is beautiful and only 10 minutes from the French Quarter. If I ever bring another group back to New Orleans, we will definitely look into renting this house again b/c it was so clean and well maintained, in a quiet neighborhood, comfortable bedrooms, the proximity to the Quarter and the price was so reasonable.

We truly enjoyed our time in the house. In town for a week long trade show, this was a very nice alternative to the typically cramped spaces of a Hotel room. The kitchen was fabulous, allowing ample space for us to prepare meals which were much better and less costly than the Hotel counterparts. Rooms are spacious and quite comfortable, and having the washer and dryer handy as well. It was also eyeopening to see the area and particularly, the lower ninth ward. I would definitely stay here again!

This is really a exquisite and wonderful home to stay in. It is a beautiful creole cottage with all the charm of old New Orleans and it has been fully renovated with modern appliances, high def TVs, etc. I would highly recommend that anyone traveling in or around the New Orleans area consider staying at this magnificent property in lieu of hotel room. It even has a serene back porch and yard for relaxing with coffee and a newspaper in the morning or a mint julip and barbeque in the early evening. Thanks for a truly enchanted stay in the Crescent City.
