Charming, cozy cottage, sylvan setting with fenced in yard in a safe and quiet neighborhood yet close to transportation and just one mile from George Washington's historic mansion, Mt. Vernon. (This cottage is on the same street that George Washington took to go to his mill.)
Kitchen is fully equipped and linens are supplied. High-speed wireless awaits your laptop.
There are abundant bike trails along the Potomac river one mile away that can take you to Old Town, Alexandria, a seaport established in 1749, or the nation's capitol even as far as Maryland or to the Blue Ridge Mountains! If given enough advance notice, rental bicycles can be provided.
We want you to be as comfortable as you would be in your own home.

Kathryn- Thank you for making your home available. It was a treat to call this our home. We enjoyed not just your house but also your info/guidance/and kind hospitality. No doubt thanks to having such a nice home base, we all survived the Marine Corps Marathon and enjoyed taking in the sights of Mt. Vernon, Alexandria and D.C.

Dear Kathryn: Thank you for the great facility and hospitality. This beautiful and peaceful setting was absolutely perfect. We had a great time in the DC area. The USMC Marathon was very patriotic and scenic. Of the number of times I've been to the DC area this was the nicest and most relaxing. I will recommend anyone to stay at your home if they are looking for a conveniently located, comfortable "home away from home" in the DC area. Thank you again for all you provided. For the past three years, I have stayed at this lovely cottage whenever I am TDY in Washington, DC. It is a really nice place to stay in a great neighborhood and very convenient.
