Mammoth, is a summer recreational paradise; boating, canoeing or fishing on the Mammoth Lakes, water skiing on Crowley Lake, horseback riding, tennis, golf, and of course, walking or mountain biking on all those scenic mountain trails. For the fishing enthusiasts, there are golden trout, native to the lakes of the high country. And for longer hikes, the John Muir trail, is only 1/2 hour away, at Agnes Meadows.
An hour or so away, consider visits to Devil's Postpile, Rainbow Falls, the June Lakes and a little further north, Mono Lake, Tioga Pass, Saddlebag Lake, Toulamine Meadows of Yosemite National Park and further north the Ghost Mining Town of Bode. Whatever your choice of activities, you will run out of time before you experience all the attractions.
After a full day, head down to the recreation building, to enjoy laps or soaking in the pool, followed by sunbathing on the deck and happy hour with family and friends. Back at the condo, as the plaque, above the dining room table states "The WINE KELLAR is open everyday". Dinners prepared in Irene's newly expanded kitchen are guaranteed to satisfy the most demanding and heartiest appetites and extend the family budget, as well. Generous counter space, utensils, and a fully stocked pantry with staples and spices facilitate food preparation. After dinner, or BBQ, enjoy coffee and conversation on the deck while listening to the music from one of Mammoth's Music Festivals in the village. An end to a perfect day, and as many of our guests report, each day is a perfect day!
For the cooks night off there are a plethora of restaurants, ranging from (Angels) and more upscale such as Nevados and Tamarack Lodge. Plus restaurants in the village and at Mammoth Mountain Inn. The Stove restaurant, is famous for hearty hikers/bikers breakfasts and dinners. And a visit to Schat's Bakery to enjoy pastries, confections or 'sweets', is a must.

About the owner: Originally from British Columbia, Jack and Irene have been avid skiers and outdoor enthusiasts from day one. Irene's career in banking and Jack's in education, brought them to Southern California. Their skiing interests have taken them to the major resorts of Canada; Whistler, the North Shore Mountains of Vancouver, Sun Peak, Banff and Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, and in the east to Mont Tremblant, Quebec, and Stowe, VT. and in the U.S. to Sun Valley, Alta, Aspen, Snowbird, Park City, Lake Tohoe, and the resorts of Colorado. Their interest in Europe has taken them to the Alps, and to the resorts of France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and the Pyrenees of Southern France and Spain. The highlight of their skiing endeavors has been helicopter skiing in the Cariboo and Monashees of British Columbia. They are original Timber Ridge owners.
More recently, they have acquired an ocean front home in Birch Bay, Washington state and only 5 minutes from British Columbia and 45 minutes to Vancouver, B. C. They invite you to share it with them. VRBO.com/192841
Why the Owner Chose Timber Ridge: The privacy, exclusivity, incredible views, the possibility of being able to ski in and out from the front door, captured our imagination. This is our home in the Sierras.
