Welcome to the Swanky loft home near all that Austin offers. Located in cool South Austin, and only 4 blocks to the fun SOCO area (unique shops/outdoor cafes/bars/live outdoor music). SOCO area has a fabulous view of the State Capital. This loft has what you need, and is in the right location. All the new furniture is contemporary "space age" stuff.
Home is very spacious--has 2 full baths, and 2 bedrooms with comfy queen beds, we have another queen mattress to put in the living room, and another sleeper sofa that sleeps 2, so 8 can sleep here comfortably. It's a true loft; ceiling is 22 feet with lots of windows and natural light. We are PET FRIENDLY and have a fenced yard, so bring your pup if you want! no extra charge!
Come stay, and enjoy being in a new contemporary home. You are very close to downtown, Town Lake, parks, hiking, & music scene. Why the Owner Chose Soco
Only 4 blocks to SOCO area!! This is a must see area--it captures the essence of Austin with it's funky shops and outdoor music. The area is all walkable with lots of street vendors for food and crafts to buy. Also, 1.5 miles to downtown.

Torchy's Taco's is a 2 minute walk from the house-- cheap and good breakfast and lunch--try it. Close bike ride to SXSW fest and ACL music fest......

My husband and I along with another stayed in the swanky mod during our recent vacation to Austin. This property made the trip! The property is the perfect for two couples, spacious but not huge. My husband described it as what it would be like to live inside an iMac computer. Everything was very clean and the decor is modern and awesome. The fact that the other couple could bring their dog made it so convenient for all of us. We were comfortable walking to live music shows on SoCo which was also a huge plus. There is a grocery store close by and tons of places to get tacos within walking distance. It really became a home away from home for us for a short time and provided everything we needed and more! We will most definetly stay here again when visiting Austin.

Other reviews are spot on about the cool vibe of this place and the great location relative to Austin's SoCo district. Working with the owner is also a key to smooth renting and Carrie is ultra responsive and professional through email and phone. I'm a photographer and have rented 'Swanky' twice now to take advantage of the great downstairs (great room and kitchen rock). The setup is perfect for long shots and easy to arrange for a variety of looks. I was working with 60's vintage-style fashions and the location could not have been more perfect. TONS of natural light floods the spaces while the setting provides more than adequate privacy. The upstairs bedrooms are nice, roomy, and made perfect work areas for my makeup artist and stylist.

This was a great place to stay! So close to the park and downtown. Very comfortable and everything was there that you would need for your stay! A trip to the grocery store and we were set! This was a first for me renting a vacation property instead of a hotel but it out does a hotel any day! Definitely made you feel like to were on vacation.The pictures don't do it justice you have to see it in person. Carrie was great too! I will definitely be back and want to stay here again! THANKS! Michael

We have stayed here a few times, and we have always had a great experience. House is perfect for brining along your dogs. Has plenty of sleeping spaces. Downstairs floors are concrete, so you dont have to worry about dogs scratching the floors. there is a big enough fenced in back yard for the dogs to run in. Location is great, within walking distance to torchy's tacos. The owner is nice and helps with any questions you have. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends!

Austin would have been a much different experience for my friends without this house in the picture. It was exactly what we needed: Close to activities, walking distance to eateries (Most notable Torchy's Tacos), perfect amount of space for my large group. The only thing I would say is that the pictures don't do it justice - the place is much nicer, much more spacious and has an awesome outside area to chill in. The owner was very accommodating, allowing us to arrive a few hours early due to our flight schedules - and throughout the weekend, she was only a phone call away. It was a great experience and I would not only stay at this house again in Austin, but I would also look to see if this owner had properties in the other cities I was visiting.

My brother and I stayed in the Swanky Mod for a short week on a visit to Austin. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with great access to SOCO and easy access to the freeway. The house is a nice place to hang out and is furnished with pretty much everything you need. The beds are comfortable and it feels almost like sleeping in a treehouse in the upstairs bedrooms. I would stay here again in a heart beat and recommend it.

my partner & i live in Houston but head out for regular Austin getaways- either just ourselves or with groups of friends. we stayed here at Carries place last time with some friends visiting from the Northeast (who wanted to see Austin, not Houston) and the place couldn't have been more perfect. super clean & funky, i loved that it gave a true Austin feel to their first visit to Texas! lots of room, great little back patio, and the two full baths were money. we walked the pleasant mile or so out to SoCo for the night out & cabbed it back in at the end of the night for just a few bucks. all of this plus the fact that we were able to save $$tons by bringing our well-behaved dogs along for their own little vacation rather than having to board them made this an A+ experience. we will definitely check this place for availability first whenever we go to Austin.

I loved this rental house and will definitely be back next time I am in Austin. Easy "check in," clean, modern, and fun. Similarly priced to a hotel but much better than a hotel, quieter, a full kitchen, lots of space. Located in a great area where South Congress is very close and has lots of fun/quirky places to go. Loved the recommendation for nearby Torchy's Tacos, thanks for leaving suggestions for out-of-towners. I was traveling alone for work and liked that it was in a residential area behind another house and gated, felt safe. Would be super fun for a girls weekend get-a-way.....

We rented this property for ACL weekend. Everything about it was perfection. The house was beyond cool and in great location for those who love Austin night life. The owner was easy to work with and accommodating in every way. We will definitely be back!!
