This 3,000 sq ft, log lake home is situated on approx. 1 acre of land on a point on the north side of Big Sandy Lake in McGregor just one hour from Brainerd or Duluth and under three hours from the twin cities. Beautiful vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, and granite counters in the kitchen and bathrooms. Designer decorated, custom made bedding and furniture.
The private natural setting is ideal in both winter and summer for a family retreat or a romantic getaway. Enjoy warm weather activities on the lake or enjoy relaxing in the 8 X 10 outdoor sunken hot tub with an undeniably beautiful clear view of the lake! There's a nice sandy beach and a dock perfect for fishing. Rent a pontoon or fishing boat from a local rental. Enjoy cold weather activities such as cross country skiing, ice fishing, or take advantage of fantastic snowmobile trails! If cold weather isn't your ideal getaway then you can cozy up to the large fireplace inside along with TV, DVD & VHS player, stereo w/ CD player w/ indoor and outdoor speakers.
There is a lake-side fire pit next to the 330' of lakeshore and private beach. Dried and cut wood is available for you at no extra cost.
Fun activities to enjoy when it's warm are bocce ball, badminton, horseshoes and croquet which are all available to you during your stay. The extremely large lawn is also perfect for playing catch, frisbee, and football. Activities nearby include Minnesota National Golf Course and Savanna Portage State Park. The golf course consists of an 18-hole championship course that has five tee boxes for all skill levels.
There's also a blue grass 9-hole executive course featuring junior tees for families and those who like a more leisurely, less challenging round of golf. The state park offers hiking trails in the summer and 60 miles of snowmobile trails in the winter.
The kitchen has a 7' long pine table that comfortably seats 12. This luxurious cabin sleeps up to 20 people!!! Sleeps 12 comfortably in beds: Master bedroom: 1 king w/ room for inflatable mattress or crib, Bedrooms 2 & 3: 1 set of queen bunk beds each, Living Room: pullout queen sleeper plus 1 add'l sofa, and 2 lofts that can accommodate many in sleeping bags. Washer/Dryer, linens, towels, cookware, dishes, dishwasher, trash compactor, gas grill w/ direct connection to house propane (never run out of propane!!)
$500 damage deposit will hold your reservation, returned within 10 days after stay if no damage.
1/2 down 60 days prior, balance of payment due 30 days prior to arrival. The maximum number of guests per cabin is limited to six (6) persons. An additional charge of $15.00 per person per night for guests in addition to six(6) will be assessed. MN Tax applies. $180 Cleaning Fee.

Your stay could be free! This cabin is for sale and while it's on the market, we're renting it out! We ask that you cooperate with any showings during your stay; if that showing leads to the sale of this cabin, we'll refund the cost of your stay to you!

Owner Description
This is my family's cabin where I grew up spending weekends and summers. It was a wonderful place to hang out with my family playing games, hot tubing, boating, etc. Once us kids grew up we started going there less and less, and decided to start renting it out while it is listed on the market. I have also hosted many long weekend there with friends, and it is a great place to host large groups. There is plenty of sleeping room for everyone and the large open family room and kitchen really support large groups in the summer and winter.
