In the private, gated community of Playacar Phase II, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, stands Villa Perla Blanca, a unique vacation villa featuring the ultimate in refinement: stunning nine-feet domed ceilings, marble floors, natural stone counters, and outstanding handcrafted mahogany carpentry. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, the house normally accommodates eight persons but two sofa beds raise the occupancy to twelve.
Upon entering Villa Perla Blanca, you will be awed by the sight of a 17-feet window across the first living room area, leading directly to a patio and the lovely garden. The ground level also harbors one master bedroom, two guest rooms and a laundry room. Each room has a full bathroom and opens onto a private balcony. Furthermore, the elegant master bedroom includes stained glass French doors and a luxurious Jacuzzi-style tub.
An open-plan dining and living area with complete entertainment center occupies most of the second level. The fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor terrace are accessible from the dining area, which seats eight persons. A staircase leads to a rooftop terrace. Across the gallery overlooking the ground level living room, a second master bedroom includes amenities similar to the one downstairs.

Ten of us traveled down together and we all fit very comfortably. The fact that each room had its own king sized bed was a first for me that I had never seen and I am still dreaming about those beds, I have never slept so good in my whole life! The kitchen was great, dining room, both living rooms, etc... The boss's kids LOVED the huge day bed/futon things in the den area. The roof was a blast to hang out on, and the yard was green with huge trees and beautiful white & pink flowers. We had a bananna tree and a coconut tree, and little geckos runnin around outside. The house was a perfect distance to 5th ave, and the other shops. We walked to the Blue Parrot bar 3 nights in a row and enjoyed great food and gelato on the way there. The Beach takes 3 minutes to walk to, and the sand is the softest sand I have ever felt, and I've been all over the place. The water is a gorgeous clear blue and green, and there are tons of watersports going on. Sergio and the maid (forgive me, I never got her name) were both just wonderful and very accomodating, one of the remotes for the TV ran out of batteries and they refilled them for us! The only thing that I looked forward to and only received one of was a hot shower :( The pilot light kept going out, but we made Sergio aware and hopefully is fixed by now. Other than that, it was the best vacation we've ever been on hands down!

As soon as we pulled up to this house we were impressed. Two couples shared this home for one week in February 2008. The bedrooms were remarkable and the adjoining bathrooms were very large. The outdoor terraces were great to have a before dinner cocktail. The large roof-top terrace was fun for sun-tanning and watching the sun set late in the afternoon. The amenities were top notch. The fridge, stove, air-conditioner, washer-dryer, and tv's all worked well. It was only a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 30 second walk to the pool. Linens, towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and a cooler were supplied. We will definately go back to La Villa Perla Blanca.
