Our large one bedroom condo is in Bahia Vista. It's in town nestled against the hills so it's easy to walk everywhere. We are on the top floor so the view is great. You have 20 stair steps from the street to the elevator. It's just a short and flat/level 3 block (490 yards) walk to the boardwalk/beach. It's only another 90 yards to the pier. At that point you are right in the middle of the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. Located out of the hustle and bustle but conveniently close by.
We absolutely love to have dinner on the huge deck watching the sun go down and the city lights come on. You can see a beautiful panorama from the canyon/mountains through the city to the beautiful harbor and Casino. Enjoy your favorite beverage while you BBQ,... relaxing in our favorite 'restaurant' on the Island!
There are only six pools that we know of on the island and Bahia Vista's pool is excellent. It is in a courtyard so it's blocked from the wind. It also has a large spa/whirlpool for you to soak away your troubles.
We installed privacy curtains in the master bedroom so those sleeping in the living room can get to the bathroom without disturbing the sleepers in the king bed. By the way, the king bed is actually two twins pulled together.
The living room has a queen sofa bed (We bought the best leather one we could find and paid a lot but I don't know what happened. Did renters let kids jump on the bed? Its not very good after only a few short years). Its a great couch however. Therefore we purchased 2 roll away mattress' available for kids or small adults (up to about 5'9'). I even use the roll away mattress off the frame (and I'm a 6'1') on the deck nestled under a convenient overhang and sleep under the stars once in awhile. Using the roll-aways is also easier to get ready at night and tidy up in the morning as it turns out. So to re-cap: the sofa bed SUCKS! The roll-aways are nice!
There is a large 30' TV in the living room and a 20' in the master bedroom. A DVD player is in the living room. We just put in a brand new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave in 2009!
We offer FREE long distance phone calls and DSL broadband internet (plug in) so you can brag about your vacation to your friends on the mainland and surf the internet.
See the floorplan in the photos. It's 793 square feet in the condo and another 374 square feet on the deck (huge) for a total of 1,167 square feet.
2012 Improvements: As of 10/23/12 - New Carpet, new chaise lounges with cushions on the deck, New webbing on high deck chairs, new BBQ and new bathroom faucet.

We stayed here in June 2012 and had a great time. The condo is in a great location, walking distance to basically everything in Avalon. Condo was very clean and comfortable, although the bathroom was a little dated, but clean and that's what really matters. There are alot of stairs in the complex, even if you take the elevator there are still some stairs so it would not be perfect for someone with mobility problems, but was not an issue for us. I LOVED the deck and comfy chaise lounges. The view was beautiful of the ocean, casino and also the cliff homes. Sunset view was beautiful with all the lights. We plan on coming back soon and for years to come and I would definitely stay in the same condo. I was a little disappointed it did not come with a golf cart, but this would not deter me from coming back. Next time we come I would definitely plan on cooking more in the condo and also there is a small BBQ on the deck which would be nice for saving some money on eating out. All together I think it was a great value for the money and recommend highly!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

About the owner: My Dad bought this condo when the project was built. We love Catalina! It's a family tradition now. Here is a photo of me and my kids at the Wrigley Mansion overlook.
Why the Owner Chose Avalon:
It is in town but away from the crowds. Just a 3 block walk to the boardwalk. Really, no kidding, the huge patio is wonderful. Quiet, peaceful, scenic and comfortable.
