A vacation get-away for all seasons. Witness the most beautiful sunsets in Michigan, while sipping coffee inside the bay-windowed dining area or outside on the wooden deck overlooking breathtaking South Lake Leelanau. This 100-foot waterfront property, wooded and professionally landscaped, is waiting for you to enjoy. Once you experience life on Lake Leelanau, you will never want to leave.
The fully-furnished main house is 1700 square feet and features three bedrooms and two full baths. It sleeps six comfortably. The floor plan includes a full kitchen, full laundry, dining room with bay windows, living room with fireplace, and an outside wooden deck for your enjoyment, just steps away from the beautiful lake.
The fully-furnished, 400-square-foot guest house, finished in March 2003, sleeps four people. It was designed as a cozy efficiency with an open kitchen, dining nook, one bedroom, one full bath, and living room with a pull out sofa. It offers you desired privacy and yet is only 25 feet away from the main house and your friends or family. When you see it, you will love it.
We are located on the southeast side of the 23-mile-long Lake Leelanau, just 15 minutes from Traverse City and Suttons Bay. The lake is known for great swimming, fishing, boating, and sailing, yet it is never crowded. It is the best-kept secret of the North. The southern part of the lake is a nature preserve.
Plenty of wildlife (swans, loons, otters, mallards, herons, rabbits, and fox) pass by this cottage everyday. You can also go by boat to the villages of Cedar, Lake Leelanau, or Leland for great dining, quaint shopping, or just easy going sunset cruises. A variety of boats for all interests are available. (*See below.)
We are minutes away from many award-winning golf courses, TART trails for biking or hiking, Leelanau Sands Casino, numerous wineries, Traverse City, Suttons Bay, Leland Shanty Town, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Shoreline, and Leelanau State Park. In July, Traverse City hosts the Annual National Cherry Festival and the village of Cedar holds their reknowned Polka Fest. Art and music events are continuous throughout the summer, as well as numerous art fairs featuring local artists.
Fall offers spectacular color touring with lots of bright red maples, along with vibrant oranges, yellows, and golds. A color tour is not complete without stopping by one of our apple cider mills for fresh cider and doughnuts.
Winter activities also abound with skiing at The Homested, Holiday Hills, and Crystal Mountain Resort, cross-country skiing with close access to the TART trails and snowmobiling. Many restaurants and resorts offer a warm up by a fireplace, along with your favorite food and beverages. Traverse City boasts two local breweries and Leelanau Peninsula is proud of its many wineries.
* Bed linens and kitchen towels provided at extra cost or you may wish to bring your own. * Boat use available: Cannoe, and rowboat. Other boat/pontoon rentals and jet-ski rentals also available locally. |
