The Stonehouse cabin is perfect for families with small children, couples vacations, fishermen groups, and adults just wanting a retreat in a beautiful mountain setting.
The center of town is just a short walk away. Burney offers convenient shopping, restaurants, and even a movie theatre. Just steps away from the Stonehouse Cabin is the Burney Community pool, a neighborhood park and the high school play field.

Why the Owner Chose Burney
The town of Burney is a beautiful mountain community, with all of the services and amenities you would want in a vacation location, while still maintaining that small town feel. Owner's Map of Burney
Our family has owned this beautiful property for many years, but only recently did we complete the brand new cabin. We have been going to the Burney area for more than 30 years, and love exploring and finding new things to do in the area each time we go. From the many great hiking trails, to canoeing on a remote lake, to visiting Lassen National Park, there are endless outdoor activities to enjoy. While it is a long drive form our home in Santa Barbara, it is well worth it!

My husband and I stayed here for almost a week in August, and were delighted with this charming cabin in its woodsy setting! The cabin is almost new and very nicely designed, decorated and furnished. Since there were just 2 of us, we only used the downstairs and it was just the right amount of space for us. (There is also a loft bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a little apartment out in the garage). The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances and everything you might need. The flat screen TV and reliable wifi were a real plus. You feel as if you're out in the woods, but it is only a short walk or drive to the grocery store and downtown Burney. We had daily visits from squirrels, birds and a young buck (deer). Burney Falls is a must see, only a short drive away. And for a longer excursion, Lassen National Park has many wonders. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay with us! We had heard that a young deer had taken up residence near the cabin, and I'm glad you got to see him! We love sharing our home with visitors, and we especially enjoy it when guests take in all that the Burney area and Lassen National Park have to offer. It is truly a hidden gem vacation destination. Hope you can join us again sometime!

We really enjoyed our stay – your cabin worked very well for us and the location is perfect! We really enjoyed the quiet, woodsy setting and proximity to local attractions, especially fly fishing.

Cabin is lovely, clean, well stocked and nicely furnished although the location on the backside of the high school sports field leaves the "cabin in the woods" description with something to be desired. Especially after hearing the sprinklers run all evening.
Owner response:The cabin is located among the trees on 10 wooded acres and down a long driveway. While the high school sports field is adjacent to our property line, it is a good distance away. We feel our location has the advantage of a woodsy remote feel, while still being only a short walk to the center of town. We feel we offer the "cabin in the woods feel" and the convenience of being close to town.

We stayed at the Burney Cabin in Nov 2010 for a family reunion. It is adorable and spotless, warm and cozy! We were lucky enough to enjoy the first snow of the season! The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable for a family of 6. The only thing we were missing was a washer and dryer which would have been an added bonus. Other than that it was perfect and we will definantly will stay there next time we come to Burney! There is no other lodging that compares! One note that isn't mention in description but was not a problem for us... the 3rd bedroom and half bath are detached from the house. A great place for teenagers : )

Upon entering this wonderful hidden gem beautifully tucked away on a piece of forrested land in Burney, we had a feeling we would extend our stay here. (and we did:2 extra days!) Everything about this property was beyond our expectations. The owners, are truley in the hospitality business and it shows. The Cabin was impecably clean and well furnished. The stainless steel appliances looked brand new and everything you needed was available and easy to find. Sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine or cold beer after a long day of hiking, fishing, or swimming was fantastic! The Cabin is centrally located with many things to do at your fingertips. Grocery and fishing and tackle store is a mere 10min drive. Hot spots like Burney Falls and fishing holes abound are all within 20-45 minutes of your private cabin. On top of all that, this place was wonderful for our kids! (8, 7 and 3) Very safe, clean and friendly. It was a great introduction to the outdoors for our family. The owners (Dottie) thought this Cabin out very well with every type of stay in mind: The romantic getaway, the family vacation, to the guys going fishing, this is the place you will find yourself returning to year after year and have many fond memories to talk about before your next visit.

Six days at this beautiful cabin! The cabin was clean, cozy and decorated nicely. Lots of good fishing nearby and places to see (Burney Falls, Lake Britton, Hat Creek, Baum Lake, Fish Hatchery, and nearby towns). We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the mornings & evenings. We even went swimming at the community pool (within walking distance from the cabin and its heated). Our stay was fun & relaxing, we would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful cabin.

I rented the cabin in Burney for a weekend getaway of flyfishing with three friends. THe cabin was perfect. It was new, clean, and a great place to stay after a long day fishing. The setting was beautiful and gave you the feeling of being away from it all, yet we were able to quickly get into town for things we needed. My particular use was for fishing, which it was really close to some great spots, but the cabin itself would serve many purposes. More than a fishing cabin for sure. I will definitely be staying here again no matter my reason for visiting Burney or any of the surrounding areas.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Burney cabin this April and had a great experience. Some budies and I headed up to fish for a few days and found the cabin to be perfect for what we were looking for. Set on a large tract of undelveloped land, the cabin made you feel as if you were tucked away in the woods while only being a short 3 minute ride to a major store. All new construction along with amenities such as plasma TV and wireless internet made for a first class lodging experience. Owners were easy to deal with. Big thumbs up!!
