Property description

Trimble Creek Lodge - Perfect Vacation Lodging for Families, Reunions & Groups of 4-16. Nestled in the Arkansas Ozarks. Summer getaway planners - reserve the entire resort and treat your family to a truly unique vacation that allows togetherness and getting away from the crowd in a pristine, natural setting on a 72 acre peninsula of beautiful Bull Shoals Lake. This Vacation Rental includes a Lodge plus three unique cottages, a bunkhouse, treehouse, and private boat and swim dock in a gorgeous, quiet cove. New for 2015: A 9 Hole Disc Golf Course situated near the Meadow and Barn at TCL!

Bull Shoals Lake is open and clean - perfect for family water activities like water-skiing, boating, tubing, wake boarding, fishing or just relaxing in the lake. Our private boat & swim dock is for our guests only and is located in a beautiful secluded cove. Solar powered and equipped with a fish cleaning station, we keep our dock well-maintained for your personal or rented boats. We keep the dock the way we know families who care about their boats like it! We also feed the fish so your little ones can enjoy fishing from the dock.

What makes Trimble Creek Lodge Unique? We, Michael & Lorilee (Lulu), are your Innkeepers during your stay at Trimble Creek Lodge, a resort with the privacy of a Vacation Home, the extras of a Country Inn and the adventure of a 72-acre Lakeside Peninsula. We offer one-of-a-kind vacations for families, reunions and groups of 6-15 in a unique set-up that includes: A spacious Lodge for gathering, three unique and charming, fully equipped cottages with many extras, plus private boat & swim dock, bunkhouse & treehouse.
We personalize for each of our groups. Homemade ice cream, double chocolate brownies, advice for fisherman and help celebrating a special occasion, birthday or anniversary are some of our unique offerings. Spend time together in the Lodge, on the dock or at one of the many porches throughout our resort. Then, spread out for sleeping in our 3 stand-alone cottages plus the bunkhouse. There are porches and patios around the Lodge & East Cottage and a great covered back porch at the Meadow House. We have gas and charcoal grills and provide most everything you need in our well equipped kitchens (waffle irons, crock pots, good knives, rolling pins, great pots, plenty of dishes although due to our wilderness setting, we do not have dishwashers), bathrooms and bedrooms (fluffy towels, high quality sheets we iron by hand for you, beautiful quilts, fresh flowers and American & English soaps). Bring your food and friends and you are set!

Bull Shoals has 1,000 acres of shoreline and the water is beautifully clean. Guest’s love swimming off our swim dock and enjoying the seclusion of our beautiful natural location. This lake is so large, you can boat or water ski without getting close to other boats – one of the reasons families love this place.

Every vacation here includes at least one free family style food gift from our Trimble Creek Lodge favorites including our own hand churned ice cream, double chocolate brownies or fabulous crusty fresh baked rolls. Complementary cooking lessons with Lulu are part of the charm of this unique place.

What is your set up including sleeping arrangements?
Lodge:
An ideal space for all your group gatherings, card games, pool tournaments, and simply spending time with friends and family. The Lodge boasts fabulous lake views and is under the same roof as the East Cottage. This large, airy space houses the library, antique pool table, family-style dining tables, sofas, chairs, fireplace, hardwood floors, cherry paneling, ceiling fans and a twenty-two foot window wall with spectacular views of the lake and our Heart of the Ozarks hillsides. (We are at 900 feet elevation, the lake at 650). Attached to the East Cottage, and opening to back and front decks complete with grills, a sun deck, two sun-shading pergolas and outdoor furniture, the Lodge is a favorite with all our family reunions for lounging, refreshing, outdoor meals and catching up with those we love in our naturally mosquito-free location. The treehouse, foosball table (porch location) and nearby horseshoe pits provide additional outdoor fun for your group. The Hot Tub Room, a lovely redwood enclosed room with windows on three sides, houses our hot-tub-for-two and is also attached to the Lodge. About 1200 sf or a combined 2600 sf with the East Cottage. Free Wi-Fi.

East Cottage: Often the location for joint dinner preparations, the two and a half bedroom East Cottage is fully equipped with kitchen, lake view grill, bathroom, satellite TV, living room, sofas, chairs, air conditioning, linens, fireplace and two fridges for those extra vacation foods. Two queen-sized beds, two queen sofa sleepers, one futon, and one twin chair sleeper provide sleeping for 2-6 guests. Attaches directly to the Lodge. Free Wi-Fi. About 1400 sf.

Meadow House: A charming two-bedroom cottage style vacation home provides additional sleeping, kitchen and bathroom spaces for groups using the East Cottage and Lodge. A kitchen, family room, TV, bathroom, linens and air conditioning make the Meadow House perfect for families with younger children, grandparents, or those who enjoy a quiet getaway. A large covered porch provides lovely forest vistas where wild turkey regularly feed over rolling hills. Each bedroom sleeps two in queen beds and the family room also offers sleeping for teens or children on the two sofas. Sleeps 2-6. Free Wi-Fi About 900 sf

Bunkhouse: A separate sleeping space with a view of the forest. Located just west of the Lodge, it provides sleeping and adventure for 5-6 tweens or teens in one full size futon and two sets of bunk beds. Flashlights included! Guests sleeping in the Bunkhouse come into the Lodge or East Cottage to use a bathroom. Available Summer Only.

The Barn at Trimble Creek Lodge: A perfect additional 'away from the crowd' sleeping space for a couple. One bedroom with a queen bed, kitchen, bathroom, family room with full sized futon and lovely views of an oak tree dappled meadow, located between the Meadow House and the Lodge/East Cottage. Sleeps 2-4. Free Wi-Fi.

Bathrooms & showers: Trimble Creek Lodge offers a total of four guest bathrooms (one each in the Meadow House, East Cottage, Barn at TCL and Lodge). The Lodge bathroom has a large old-fashioned claw foot tub and a great assortment of bubble baths (not a shower though). We also have an outdoor shower located near the East Cottage with a privacy screen on three sides and the forest on the third. We sometimes host an 'outdoor shower competition' with fun-loving crowds and taking outdoor showers is part of the vacation fun for many of our summer groups.

To summarize – East Cottage: Green Room (1 queen), White Room (1 queen), Tile Room (1 double futon). Family Room (2 queen sofa sleepers and 1 twin chair sleeper). Meadow House: Blue Room (1 queen), Pink Room (1 queen), Family Room (1 large sofa & 1 love seat for teen or child sleeping); Bunkhouse: 1 full futon & 2 sets of bunkbeds; the Barn at Trimble Creek Lodge: 1 queen & 1 full futon; Lodge: everyone for fun, dinner or gathering 24/7 (no beds).

What else is nearby? The Buffalo National Scenic River is not far and also great for day trips and river floats. The nearby White River is famous for the great trout fishing and we are only an hour from the shows and shopping in Branson. The new Crystal Bridges Museum on American Art is about 1.5 hours from here in Bentonville, Just for fun you might want to visit the towns of Yellville and Flippin Arkansas for used books or grocery shopping. Some guests visit the town of Eureka Springs (1.5 hours west of here) for upscale boutique shopping and fabulous Victorian architecture set into the hills of Northwest Arkansas. The Ozark Folk Center, located under two hours away in Mountain View, works to preserve and share the heritage and way of life of Ozark mountain people. Visit their website, http://ozarkfolkcenter.com to learn what music, gardening, herb or pioneer craft workshops are available during your time here. Summer reunions & groups reserve the entire resort. Trimble Creek Lodge is a cross between a Resort, a Vacation Home and a Country Inn, located on a lovely 72 acre peninsula of Bull Shoals Lake in a secluded, wilderness location. You will find plenty of extras like great beds, fresh flowers, ironed sheets and home-made desserts but you can cook for yourselves in our well equipped kitchens. One reason our place is great for reunions is our Lodge Common Space – an airy room with cathedral ceilings and plank oak floors overlooking the lake where you can gather day or night for games, conversations, or meals. This is a great lake for fishing, boating, waterskiing, tubing and other family water fun. The mile-long cove where our private dock is situated is not crowded and perfect for family water sports - you can always find a secluded cove to teach your kids to ski. New in 2015 is a 9 hole Disc Golf Course on Trimble Creek Lodge Property for our guests only! Within an hour’s drive find Golf courses, Silver Dollar City, Branson, MO, White & Buffalo Rivers. Visit the town of Eureka Springs (1.5 hours) for upscale shopping and fabulous Victorian architecture. The Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville offers first-class American art in a fabulous natural setting just 90 miles from Trimble Creek Lodge.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 2002

About the owner: Dear Families and Friends, We are honored by the many wonderful families who in the last 12 years have chosen Trimble Creek Lodge for their vacations or getaways. Over the years we created many memories during our family vacations with our children and extended family and friends. We hope you will do the same during your time here with us in Arkansas, the Natural State. We are fortunate our kids still return “to the Lake.” In fact, our son still takes his summer vacation here, traveling from Japan and then Korea to Trimble Creek Lodge. (The picture of us is actually from his recent wedding in Tokyo!) As a family, we treasure the things that were most different from our daily lives – long (and competitive) card games, lazy afternoons on the lake, learning new ways to have fun in the water – tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and making up games of our own! Here at Trimble Creek Lodge we hope you enjoy leaving your normal lives behind and experiencing life in our unique, natural setting where summer days are distinctive, simple and relaxed. Enjoy fixing (and eating) family breakfasts or dinners when no one is rushed to get to work, soccer or school. Have the kids do the dishes (there are no dishwashers here except the natural kind - your kids!) Take the time to enjoy a quiet morning outdoors listening to the birds. Have a family story/discussion night and hear everyone’s stories – Grandpa as well as young ones (Michael & Lorilee have a basket of story-starting questions). Please let us know any questions about Trimble Creek Lodge. Our hope is that your family and friends will build your own memories and vacation traditions here in one of the most pristine, natural environments you will find in all of the US.

Why the Owner Chose Bull Shoals:
We vacationed on Bull Shoals for years with our kids and realized there were no places quite like Trimble Creek Lodge - distinctive, yet simple and relaxed. Below is a list compiled by our guests of their favorite experiences here at Trimble Creek Lodge. Previous guests, please send us your favorites to add!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Eat, sleep, ski, fish! Memorial Day – Mid September: Tube, Water-ski or wakeboard on the lake where the water is beautiful and clean. Game night in the Lodge – we have Cards, Poker chips, Apples to Apples, Guesstures, Scrabble, Monopoly, Dominoes, Jenga, Pool table (adults), Foosball (outdoor porch), Pictionary, Yahtzee, Uno and more - or bring your favorite games! Walk - Forget the treadmill while you’re here, we have 72 acres for outdoor walking! (Remember the insect repellent and shoes for walking on rocky surfaces.) Walk to the dock – 6 minutes down, 10 minutes up a rocky Arkansas lane – about ¼ mile. Walk from the Meadow House to the Lodge, Lodge to Meadow House (1/4 mile), enjoy the views and scenery along the way. Or bring your bikes for riding between the Meadow House and Lodge (the hills surrounding the Lodge are rocky and a bit steep for biking although we have had some mountain bike enthusiast who disagree!) Swim (Memorial Day – Mid September) or relax off the dock – we have both sun and shade for swimmers and relaxers. Boat on the Lake – 1,000 miles of shoreline on the 10th largest lake in the US. Pack a picnic, find a nice cove, jump into the lake for a swim, play water volley ball or keep away. Nap or read in the boat. Enjoy this beautiful, clean and uncrowded lake. There are boat rentals nearby at the Buck Creek and 125 Marinas. If you are here over July 4, consider watching fireworks over the lake from a boat! Pack your family into boats and enjoy a mosquito-free fireworks display from the lake. Typically fireworks take place a few days before the 4th and also on the 4th at several locations on the lake (Buck Creek Marina (nearby), Sugarloaf Harbor (8 miles) and Bull Shoals Boat Dock (35 miles – we use our GPS on the way home in the dark!). Schedules for these are usually available in June.
