Country Inn Style Vacation Home Lodging
Lodge & Hot Tub Room
The Lodge is often “reunion central” at Trimble Creek Lodge – a place to gather or share meals at the three dining tables. Other times the Lodge hosts games, conversations or maybe just a quiet afternoon with a dear friend or a good book. Fabulous lake views, a glass window-enclosed hot tub room, and a charming antique-style bathroom with an old-fashioned claw-foot tub are available to all members of groups who rent the Lodge.
East Cottage Attaches directly to the Lodge, giving families a combined total of over 2600 square feet with panoramic views of Bull Shoals Lake and Ozark hillsides. Often the location for joint dinner preparations, the two and a half bedroom East Cottage is fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom, satellite TV, living room, sofas, chairs, air conditioning, linens, fireplace and two fridges for those extra vacation foods. Two queen-sized beds, two queen sofa sleepers and one twin chair sleeper provide sleeping for 2-7 guests.
Bunkhouse
The Bunkhouse, a separate sleeping space with a view of the forest, is an option for all groups who also rent the Lodge and East Cottage. Located just west of the Lodge, it provides sleeping and adventure for up to 5 tweens or teens in one twin bed and two sets of bunk beds. Flashlights included!
Meadow House
A charming two-bedroom cottage style vacation home provides additional sleeping, kitchen and bathroom spaces for groups using the East Cottage and Lodge. A full sized-kitchen, TV, bathroom, linens and air conditioning make the Meadow House perfect for families with younger children, grandparents, or those who enjoy a quiet getaway. A large covered porch provides lovely forest vistas where wild turkey regularly feed over rolling hills leading to the lake. Each bedroom sleeps two in queen beds and the family room also offers a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and twin on the top. Sleeps 2-7.
The Barn at Trimble Creek Lodge
And Yes! It's really in the Barn! A perfect additional 'away from the crowd' sleeping space for a couple. One bedroom & one bathroom with a queen bed, kitchen, family room and lovely views of an oak tree dappled meadow, located between the Meadow House and the Lodge/East Cottage. An extra large kitchen table may make the Barn at TCL the next “Poker Game Central” at TCL. Dubbed by Michael the Outside Guy at Trimble Creek Lodge 'A Frontier Style Accommodation and Found Object Gallery.'
Bathrooms & showers: We have a total of four guest bathrooms (one each in the Meadow House and East Cottage, Barn at TCL and Lodge). Plus, we also have an outdoor shower and we sometimes host an 'outdoor shower competition' with fun-loving crowds! Taking outdoor showers is part of the vacation fun for many of our summer groups.
The Lodge bathroom has a large old-fashioned claw foot tub and a great assortment of bubble baths (not a shower though).

My extended family spent an incredible late fall weekend at this beautiful combination of an inn and vacation rental. The property itself is remote and beautiful. The on site owners literally devote themselves to providing for the guests' comfort and entertainment. A separate residence for part of the family is ideal for adult children and their spouses. The owner gave us a lesson in bread making as well as making delicious rolls and desserts for our Thanksgiving meal. Fine linens, new kitchen gadgets, board games, a sound system with iPod connector - all examples of the things that make your stay here one delight after another!Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We took our grandsons ages 16, 11 and 10 and stayed in the East Quarters. My sister, her husband and 12 year old great-grandaughter stayed in the Meadow house. From catching perch after perch with bread or ABC gum, to splitting logs for their own campfire, to watching the sunset over the lake, to playing games of tag in the huge yard to churning their own homemade ice cream and making brownies with Lorilee , it was everything the adults and kids could have wished for a family vacation. The view from the lodge is spectacular, the grounds are gorgeous, everything is well maintained. We took our lunch down to the lake and spent the afternoon every day. The water was perfect temperature, there is a paddle boat available for rent which the boys used daily, the water is so clear the kids could see the fish take their bait! We never left the whole week, so make sure you get groceries ahead of time, we stopped at the Walmart in Harrison, 45 minutes away and stocked up. A benefit my sister and I had not counted on was that the kids all wanted to spend the night at the same house so every other night the other couple was kid-free! What a blessing it was to have Lorilee and Michael as our hosts! When we said goodbye to them it was like we were leaving dear friends. I highly recommend a vacation at Trimble Creek.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

Every year for 22 years, 4 buddies of mine and I get away for a long weekend to play cards, watch sports and argue politics. Our criteria for lodging is comfort, out of the way, access to great food, and beautiful scenery. This year, our stay at Trimble Creek Lodge exceeded all expectations. When I read the description and looked at the pictures on VRBO, I thought "wow, this looks like a nice place." When we arrived, I thought, "Holy Cow! The description and pictures do not do it justice." The sleeping quarters were warm, inviting, spacious and accommodating. The Lodge, however, was absolutely spectacular! It is beautiful, ornate, and spacious with games, books, a pool table, fire place...everything you could imagine PLUS a most majestic view of Bull Shoals Lake. Incredible. What really made our stay, however, was the graciousness of our hosts, Michael and Lorilee. They thought of everything. I have two strong recommendations, however: #1 make sure you have everything you need before you arrive (i.e. drinks, snacks, etc), because you will NOT want to leave. #2 Order meals! Lecy's Shrimp and Pasta was spectacular and the Pork Tenderloin was delicious! Thanks Michael and Lorilee for an outstanding weekend!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 8/8

We look forward to our second holiday in your meadow house! What a great way to enjoy family vacations. Last year the kids rung in the New year in the claw foot bubble bath; this year the turkeys can have Thanksgiving leftovers in the best tree house ever! See you soon... Owner info
Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: Dear Families and Friends, We are honored by the many wonderful families who in the last eight years have chosen Trimble Creek Lodge for their vacations or getaways. Over the years we created many memories during our family vacations with our children and extended family and friends. We hope you will do the same during your time here with us in Arkansas, the Natural State. We are fortunate our kids still return “to the Lake.” In fact, our son still takes his summer vacation here, traveling from Japan and then Korea to Trimble Creek Lodge. (The picture of us is actually from his recent wedding in Tokyo!) As a family, we treasure the things that were most different from our daily lives – long (and competitive) card games, lazy afternoons on the lake, learning new ways to have fun in the water – tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and making up games of our own! Here at Trimble Creek Lodge we hope you enjoy leaving your normal lives behind and experiencing life in our unique, natural setting where summer days are distinctive, simple and relaxed. Enjoy fixing (and eating) family breakfasts or dinners when no one is rushed to get to work, soccer or school. Have the kids do the dishes (there are no dishwashers here except the natural kind - your kids!) Take the time to enjoy a quiet morning outdoors listening to the birds. Have a family story/discussion night and hear everyone’s stories – Grandpa as well as young ones (Michael & Lorilee have a basket of story-starting questions). Please let us know any questions about Trimble Creek Lodge. Our hope is that your family and friends will build your own memories and vacation traditions here in one of the most pristine, natural environments you will find in all of the US.
Why the Owner Chose Bull Shoals:
We vacationed on Bull Shoals for years with our kids and realized there were no places quite like Trimble Creek Lodge - distinctive, yet simple and relaxed. Below is a list compiled by our guests of their favorite experiences here at Trimble Creek Lodge. Previous guests, please send us your favorites to add!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Eat, sleep, ski, fish!
Memorial Day – Mid September: Tube, Water-ski or wakeboard on the lake where the water is beautiful and clean.
Game night in the Lodge – we have Cards, Poker chips, Apples to Apples, Guesstures, Scrabble, Monopoly, Dominoes, Jenga, Pool table (adults), Foosball (outdoor porch), Pictionary, Yahtzee, Uno and more - or bring your favorite games!
Walk - Forget the treadmill while you’re here, we have 72 acres for outdoor walking! (Remember the insect repellent and shoes for walking on rocky surfaces.)
Walk to the dock – 6 minutes down, 10 minutes up a rocky Arkansas lane – about ¼ mile.
Walk from the Meadow House to the Lodge, Lodge to Meadow House (1/4 mile), enjoy the views and scenery along the way.
Or bring your bikes for riding between the Meadow House and Lodge (the hills surrounding the Lodge are rocky and a bit steep for biking although we have had some mountain bike enthusiast who disagree!)
Swim (Memorial Day – Mid September) or relax off the dock – we have both sun and shade for swimmers and relaxers.
Boat on the Lake – 1,000 miles of shoreline on the 10th largest lake in the US. Pack a picnic, find a nice cove, jump into the lake for a swim, play water volley ball or keep away. Nap or read in the boat. Enjoy this beautiful, clean and uncrowded lake. There are boat rentals nearby at the Buck Creek and 125 Marinas.
If you are here over July 4, consider watching fireworks over the lake from a boat! Pack your family into boats and enjoy a mosquito-free fireworks display from the lake. Typically fireworks take place a few days before the 4th and also on the 4th at several locations on the lake (Buck Creek Marina (nearby), Sugarloaf Harbor (8 miles) and Bull Shoals Boat Dock (35 miles – we use our GPS on the way home in the dark!). Schedules for these are usually available in June.
