What is your set up including sleeping arrangements?

Lodge (Common Space): Kind of a cross between a hotel lobby and a big living room, is attached to the East Quarters and provides an additional space 24/7 for your family to relax, play games or cards, play pool (grown-ups only), read or just enjoy the fabulous lake view through our floor to ceiling window wall, away from anyone who might be sleeping or watching TV. Both the Lodge and the East Quarters have fabulous views of the lake and the hillsides (we are at 900 feet elevation, the lake at 650). The treehouse, foosball table (porch location) and nearby horseshoe pits provide additional outdoor fun for your group. The Hot Tub Room, a lovely redwood enclosed room with windows on three sides houses our hot-tub for two. About 1000 sf

East Quarters: 2 bedrooms with a queen-sized bed in each, a half room with a queen sofa sleeper, plus a single pull out bed (for a small person) and a second queen sofa sleeper in the EQ family room. Attached to the Lodge. One bathroom, full kitchen (where you will likely serve most of your meals). Great grill outside with a lake view. There is a 2nd refrigerator on a nearby outdoor porch for your extra drinks. About 1600 sf

Meadow House: 2 bedrooms with a queen-sized bed in each and a bunkbed with a double and twin in the family room. One bathroom and a full kitchen. Lovely covered porch with a meadow view & outdoor ceiling fans. Great for young families or those who love quiet. About 900 sf

Bunkhouse: Located just steps away from the Lodge & East Quarters, is rustic and charming, housing an additional queen bed and four twins in bunkbeds plus an antique mahogany dresser and a wall of clothing hooks for your stuff. Guests sleeping in the Bunkhouse come into the Lodge or East Quarters to use a bathroom.

West Room: This room offers an additional queen bedroom that is attached to Michael & Lorilee’s cottage. (Although we aren’t too rowdy, guests sleeping here will hear us in our kitchen and living room.) Guests sleeping here walk through the hot tub room and into the Lodge to use a bathroom. For safety reasons, this space is available only to adults (no children), because this room adjoins the hot tub room. Add an additional $60-$100/night to your rate for this room.

Bathrooms & showers: You’d also have a total of three bathrooms (one each in the Meadow House and East Quarters and one in the Lodge). Plus, we also have an outdoor shower and we sometimes host an "outdoor shower competition" with fun-loving crowds! Taking outdoor showers is part of the vacation fun for many of our summer groups.
The Lodge bathroom has a large old-fashioned claw foot tub and a great assortment of bubble baths (not a shower though).

To summarize our sleeping set up
We have enough beds for your whole crowd of 8-16 guests:

East Quarters: Green Room (2 in 1 queen), White Room (2 in 1 queen), Tile Room (1 queen sofa sleeper). Family Room (1 queen sofa sleeper and 1 twin chair sleeper).

Meadow House: Blue Room (2 in 1 queen), Pink Room (2 in 1 queen), Family Room bunkbed (double bottom, twin top);

Bunkhouse (1 queen & 2 sets of bunkbeds – 6 maximum);

Lodge: everyone for fun, dinner or gathering 24/7 (no beds);

Optional West Room (2 in 1 queen).

    • Most summer reunions here reserve the entire resort. Trimble Creek Lodge is something of a cross between a B&B and a Resort located on a lovely 72 acre peninsula of Bull Shoals Lake in a secluded, wilderness location. You will find plenty of extras like great beds, fresh flowers, ironed sheets and home-made desserts but you can cook for yourselves in our well equipped kitchens. One reason our place is great for reunions is our Lodge Common Space – an airy room with cathedral ceilings and plank oak floors overlooking the lake where you can gather day or night for games, conversations, or meals. This is a great lake for fishing, boating, waterskiing, tubing and other family water fun. The mile-long cove where our private dock is situated is not crowded and perfect for water sports. Within an hour’s drive find Golf courses, Silver Dollar City, Branson, MO, White & Buffalo Rivers. Visit the town of Eureka Springs (1.5 hours) for upscale shopping and fabulous Victorian architecture.

Why the Owner Chose Bull Shoals

We vacationed on Bull Shoals for years with our kids and realized there were no places quite like Trimble Creek Lodge - distinctive, yet simple and relaxed. Below is a list compiled by our guests of their favorite experiences here at Trimble Creek Lodge. Previous guests, please send us your favorites to add!

The Unique Benefits at this House

Eat, sleep, ski, fish!
Memorial Day – Mid September: Tube, Water-ski or wakeboard on the lake where the water is beautiful and clean.
Game night in the Lodge – we have Cards, Poker chips, Apples to Apples, Guesstures, Scrabble, Monopoly, Dominoes, Jenga, Pool table (adults), Foosball (outdoor porch), Pictionary, Yahtzee, Uno and more - or bring your favorite games!
Walk - Forget the treadmill while you’re here, we have 72 acres for outdoor walking! (Remember the insect repellent and shoes for walking on rocky surfaces.)
Walk to the dock – 6 minutes down, 10 minutes up a rocky Arkansas lane – about ¼ mile.
Walk from the Meadow House to the Lodge, Lodge to Meadow House (1/4 mile), enjoy the views and scenery along the way.
Or bring your bikes for riding between the Meadow House and Lodge (the hills surrounding the Lodge are rocky and a bit steep for biking although we have had some mountain bike enthusiast who disagree!)
Swim (Memorial Day – Mid September) or relax off the dock – we have both sun and shade for swimmers and relaxers.
Boat on the Lake – 1,000 miles of shoreline on the 10th largest lake in the US. Pack a picnic, find a nice cove, jump into the lake for a swim, play water volley ball or keep away. Nap or read in the boat. Enjoy this beautiful, clean and uncrowded lake. There are boat rentals nearby at the Buck Creek and 125 Marinas.
If you are here over July 4, consider watching fireworks over the lake from a boat! Pack your family into boats and enjoy a mosquito-free fireworks display from the lake. Typically fireworks take place a few days before the 4th and also on the 4th at several locations on the lake (Buck Creek Marina (nearby), Sugarloaf Harbor (8 miles) and Bull Shoals Boat Dock (35 miles – we use our GPS on the way home in the dark!). Schedules for these are usually available in June.

Owner's Map of Bull Shoals

Dear Families and Friends,
We are honored by the many wonderful families who in the last eight years have chosen Trimble Creek Lodge for their vacations or getaways. Over the years we created many memories during our family vacations with our children and extended family and friends. We hope you will do the same during your time here with us in Arkansas, the Natural State. We are fortunate our kids still return “to the Lake.” In fact, our son still takes his summer vacation here, traveling from Tokyo, Japan to Trimble Creek Lodge. (The picture of us is actually from his recent wedding in Tokyo!) As a family, we treasure the things that were most different from our daily lives – long (and competitive) card games, lazy afternoons on the lake, learning new ways to have fun in the water – tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and making up games of our own!
Here at Trimble Creek Lodge we hope you enjoy leaving your normal lives behind and experiencing life in our unique, natural setting where summer days are distinctive, simple and relaxed. Enjoy fixing (and eating) family breakfasts or dinners when no one is rushed to get to work, soccer or school. Have the kids do the dishes (there are no dishwashers here except the natural kind - your kids!) Take the time to enjoy a quiet morning outdoors listening to the birds. Have a family story/discussion night and hear everyone’s stories – Grandpa as well as young ones (Michael & Lorilee have a basket of story-starting questions). Please let us know any questions about Trimble Creek Lodge. Our hope is that your family and friends will build your own memories and vacation traditions here in one of the most pristine, natural environments you will find in all of the US.

Perfect summer vacation with the grandsons and family

Guest: Linda (Harlingen,Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/05/10 Review Submitted: 07/03/10

We took our grandsons ages 16, 11 and 10 and stayed in the East Quarters. My sister, her husband and 12 year old great-grandaughter stayed in the Meadow house. From catching perch after perch with bread or ABC gum, to splitting logs for their own campfire, to watching the sunset over the lake, to playing games of tag in the huge yard to churning their own homemade ice cream and making brownies with Lorilee , it was everything the adults and kids could have wished for a family vacation. The view from the lodge is spectacular, the grounds are gorgeous, everything is well maintained. We took our lunch down to the lake and spent the afternoon every day. The water was perfect temperature, there is a paddle boat available for rent which the boys used daily, the water is so clear the kids could see the fish take their bait! We never left the whole week, so make sure you get groceries ahead of time, we stopped at the Walmart in Harrison, 45 minutes away and stocked up. A benefit my sister and I had not counted on was that the kids all wanted to spend the night at the same house so every other night the other couple was kid-free! What a blessing it was to have Lorilee and Michael as our hosts! When we said goodbye to them it was like we were leaving dear friends. I highly recommend a vacation at Trimble Creek.

Guest: David Vana (Omaha, Nebraska)
Date of Stay: 11/25/09 Review Submitted: 11/25/09

Every year for 22 years, 4 buddies of mine and I get away for a long weekend to play cards, watch sports and argue politics. Our criteria for lodging is comfort, out of the way, access to great food, and beautiful scenery. This year, our stay at Trimble Creek Lodge exceeded all expectations. When I read the description and looked at the pictures on VRBO, I thought "wow, this looks like a nice place." When we arrived, I thought, "Holy Cow! The description and pictures do not do it justice." The sleeping quarters were warm, inviting, spacious and accommodating. The Lodge, however, was absolutely spectacular! It is beautiful, ornate, and spacious with games, books, a pool table, fire place...everything you could imagine PLUS a most majestic view of Bull Shoals Lake. Incredible. What really made our stay, however, was the graciousness of our hosts, Michael and Lorilee. They thought of everything. I have two strong recommendations, however: #1 make sure you have everything you need before you arrive (i.e. drinks, snacks, etc), because you will NOT want to leave. #2 Order meals! Lecy's Shrimp and Pasta was spectacular and the Pork Tenderloin was delicious! Thanks Michael and Lorilee for an outstanding weekend!

We look forward to our second holiday in your meadow house! What a great way to enjoy family vacations. Last year the kids rung in the New year in the claw foot bubble bath; this year the turkeys can have Thanksgiving leftovers in the best tree house ever! See you soon... The Foxes
