Patty provided an overview (how to work the air conditioner, televison, phone, etc.) of the studio when we arrived, and there was also a binder with useful info. She was accessible by phone or email if we had questions. We spent four nights in this studio and loved it! It's very spacious (not sure the photos can convey that), spotlessly clean, full of amentities (even a laptop!) and in a wonderful location. We could easily walk around Casco Viejo and enjoyed meals at Cafe Rene, El Vino Enoteca and the Deli Gourmet. Panart is great for souvenirs, the Canal Museum is a must-see, and walking along the sea wall providesa great view of the skyscrapers of Panama City. Highly recommended!

My partner and I stayed in the studio apartment in Casco Viejo for a few nights back in November and are looking forward to returning to spend more time exploring/getting to know the area. Casco Viejo is magical and unlike any place we have visited before. Patty and Rudy were so on top of everything, no detail was overlooked. The apartment was gorgeous and in an ideal location and we just truly loved our time there. We couldn't possibly recommend Casco Viejo of Patty's Casitas enough!

We stayed in two places owned by Patty and Rudy, who are so friendly, and so efficient to make everything so that you feel at ease . You can go in either property they have, "les yeux fermes". Everything is so perfect, it's just the place you feel at home, whereas you're so far away from your home ! We discovered a town in excellent conditions, thanks to the good advices and great explanations they gave us on the country. We loved the colonial Casco Viejo and we really want to come back there ! Thank you for the mobile phone, for the good breakfast, for the drivings, for the comfort of the bed and the luxury of the studio...a great taste of panamean way of life...
Owner response:Thank you Marie-Laure...we have enjoyed your company and our breakfast talks...it was so nice to be able to speak in French again;-) Looking forward to having you back in a not too far future! To avoid confusion for our future guests please note that the breakfasts are only served at our B&B location. At our Casco Viejo properties you have a fully equipped kitchen & there are great little breakfast places walking distance from the condominium. Best Wishes, Patty

I wish this apartment was my apartment back home! It is beautifully decorated and maintained. The bed was very comfortable. It has all the comforts of hot water, a/c, and clean towels. The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with pot holders, spices, knives, martini glasses, etc. We were in Panama for a week and stayed at three different locations. This was absolutely the best, no doubt. Patty and Rudy are wonderful hosts. The area is fun and central. There are restaurants and taxis circling at all hours. Do not stay in a hotel, stay here!

Truly charming and well situated in the Casco Viejo. A clean, comfortable and quiet condo with all the necessary amenities. Do not miss walking along Av. Central, a pedestrian avenue just north of the condo. Great food to take back with you and lots of good shopping. Thanks again Patty and Ruddy.

If you want to get an authentic feel for Panama City, stay in Patty and Rudy's Casco Viejo apartment. Although being so close to the El Chorrillo/Santa Ana neighborhoods initially tested the limits of our comfort zone, we were won over by the area's amazing array of restaurants, stunning architecture and wide variety of art galleries and interesting souvenir shops. Just wandering the cobblestone streets was one of the highlights of our trip, and everything is within easy walking distance. The steakhouse right around the corner is superb, and there's a handy small corner store there as well. Venture down Avenida Central to the big supermarket if you plan on cooking your own food in the well-stocked and thoroughly modern kitchen of the apartment (not that we ever needed to with so many amazing restaurants to choose from!). The apartment is as beautiful as it looks on their website, if not more so. Very quiet, too. We never heard a peep from the other tenants. It's spacious, spotless, modern and has everything you could possibly need (including a computer, cell phone, regular phone, satellite TV and a selection of books, magazines, and DVD's). Patty is so warm and welcoming, and only a phone call away. We highly recommend taking advantage of Rudy's tours while there.

Having traveled to Panama more than once, I highly recommend staying in Casco Viejo at this apartment. It is clean, modern, well equipped and convenient to all the sights in Casco (and there are many) as well as to other parts of Panama City. Casco is a unique neighboorhod and an amazing place to stay when compared to other parts of Panama City. You will really feel like you are on vacation in this postcard-like setting. Patty and Rudy are excellent hosts; they have spared no details when it comes to accommodations, logistics, helpful information, etc. Also, taxis are plentiful and easy to hail, but be ready to negotiate!

This studio is spacious, extremely well-supplied, and adorable. As the pictures show, brick walls on one side, accent walls, gorgeous furniture (carved bird heads adorn the arms of the chairs) and all the appliances that one could want. The apartment is set back from the street, and on the third floor, so there was little noise heard from outside. The immediate area was safe and full of wonderful buildings, and Patty provided a binder full of instructions, recommendations and directions. I typically am tough to please, and do not hesitate to point out flaws in a rental. In this case, I have nothing to complain about. They went above and beyond expectations, with a laminated card to provide directions to taxi drivers, a cell phone (you have to pay to add minutes, but this was a great thing to have), and a good computer with internet access. This apartment provides a wonderful alternative to generic hotels, in a part of the city where high-end housing is difficult to find. I highly recommend this rental.

I found this studio to be absolutely amazing. The building was lovely, the apartment even nicer. It was beautifully decorated and appointed with absolutely everything one could need for a short or long term stay. The owners even provided a cell phone for your use while visiting, which was invaluable for making calls to taxis, etc. I would highly recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone. The apartment is within walking distance to the center of Casco (less than five minutes). I felt completely safe as a single woman in the neighborhood and found the shop keepers and restauranteurs friendly. (Plus there are wonderful restaurants all near the studio). What you see in the listing, is what you get. What you don't see, is how incredibly kind the owners are and how available they are if you have any questions. I'd highly recommend Rudy's tours too. He's a real pro!

We were very satisfied with our stay at this condo! Would definitely stay there again. Great location, clean, safe, nicely decorated with quality furnishings, all at a great price. We couldn't ask for anything more! The pictures represent the property very well. We also enjoyed working with the owners. They were very nice and helpful during our stay. We enjoyed hanging out in Bolivar Square - very peaceful atmosphere with restaurants where you can sit outside under the trees.

We stayed in this beautiful studio condo in a building first constructed in 1680 and restored in 2008 during February 2010 and we fully enjoyed our stay. The condo is absolutely as described and is located in the Old City near the square and the many shops, restaurants and things to see and do. Patty and Rudy are wonderful hosts and were very helpful in working with our different arrival schedules and helping my wife with accommodations at their B&B for a few days before I arrived. We don’t hesitate to highly recommend this studio condo or the B&B that Patty & Rudy operate.

We spend 6 wonderful days in the studio in Casco Veijo and Patty and Rudy couldn't have been more wonderful hosts. The unit was beautiful and the neighbourhood very historic. The lovely touches such as a cell phone and address card for the taxi cab drivers were great. We really enjoyed the tour by Rudy thru the Canal Museum and Panama City. So much to see and enjoy. Both Rudy and Patty were extremely helpful with our lost piece of luggage and arranging very early morning cab to Albrook Airport and storing our luggage. They were very gracious hosts. Thanks very much for a great experience in Panama.

This studio is a true haven. It is very quiet and very well furnished. We felt very comfortable here. Patty and Rudy are a wealth of information on where to eat, what to visit, where to shop, etc. We ate at two of their recommendations (Ego and Mi Ranchito) and thoroughly enjoyed both. Thank you Patty and Rudy for making our stay in Panama City so comfortable and enjoyable.

We loved staying at the studio; it is simply beautiful and surprisingly large. Patty and Rudy are great hosts, genuinely interested in ensuring you have a pleasant stay. Patty called us while we were there to make sure everything was OK and that we were enjoying ourselves. We have also stayed in their B&B in Bella Vista, which is lovely, spacious and located near great restaurants. There is construction going on in Casco Viejo - the whole area is being revitalized - so be aware that you may hear some noise from that during the day.

My husband and I were very pleased with Patty and Rudy's studio apt. It was very clean. The mattress was very comfortable... so much so that my husband wants to purchase one just like it. It has all that you need in the modern kitchen. We also loved the old Spanish architecture of the building. There are restaurants, bars, and grocery stores within walking distance. You can walk to the corner and take a taxi to anywhere in the city for very little. Most of all Patty and Rudy were very hospitable and helpful when you had a question on where to go or what to do and see. I would highly recommend this studio to a couple if they are thinking of visiting Panama.

My wife and I stayed in Patty and Rudi's studio apartment in Casco Viejo for a week in January 2009. It is beautiful accommodation and very convenient for walking around the Old Quarter. It is so comfortable, well-finished and presented - it is exactly as shown and described on Patty's website. We took advantage of her recommendations for several local restaurants (we enjoyed every one), and for the nearby mini-supermarkets. For us, the apartment was a quiet haven after busy days of sightseeing. Also, we very much appreciated Patty & Rudi picking us up at the airport. We have no hesitation recommending this accommodation for adults.

This brand new (restored), gorgeous and tranquil apartment in the heart of the fascinating neighborhood of Casco Viejo is definitely a great pick. The studio is warm and inviting and has basically all you need: a comfortable bed; fully equipped kitchen; very clean bathroom; cozy furniture; wi-fi; computer/ tv/dvd and a warm welcome from the lovely owners Patty and Rudy (who happens to be a great tour guide). It is a great place to stay if you want to soak up Casco Viejo's Old World charm!

A friend and I traveled from Dallas, Texas to Panama City for the first time for a much needed getaway and adventure. We were fortunate enough to find Patty and Rudy's home away from home for vacationers, this lovely condo in Casco Viejo, Panama. You take a chance when you're going somewhere you've never been and must trust the web to find that perfect place to stay. This IS it and we sure were lucky! We told our hosts we'd be happy to offer recommendations because we were so pleased. We did not know them before. This is a real recommendation. The property is clean, lovely and brand new. In fact, we were only the second guests. We were comfortable and the studio become "home" almost immediately. I've never slept so well when traveling! Patty and Rudy picked us up at the airport, are delightful hosts, and, between them, speak fluent German, Italian, Spanish, English and maybe even more languages? We took two tours from Rudy and they were both terrific! He tailors his tours to the needs and personalities of his guests, and his intuition is on target. Rudy even spent the good part of a day helping us navigate some cell phone issues. Patty answered any question we asked with warmth and patience. (We asked a lot of questions.) Casco Viejo, Panama's "old city", became our favorite area in Panama. We didn't find a bad restaurant in Casco Viejo, so try them all. It's a charming part of Panama that allows you to feel as if you're in Panama or somewhere other than where you live. Some may prefer the tall steel and glass buildings downtown, but to us, that didn't feel much different than Dallas or any other city. Casco Viejo is in the midst of pheomenal renovation and based on its UNESCO designation, won't lose its charm. We were there a little over one week and actually developed friendships with some of the restaurant owners and others renting and living in renovated condos in Casco Viejo. Not only would I recommend this property to a friend, I have. As has my friend!
