Can't Get Closer to the Ocean!

The views and sounds of the ocean from this condo were fantastic. You couldn't get closer unless you were swimming! Loved taking long walks along the beach. The beach there was not crowded at all. Most times we hardly saw anyone else. The condo itself was beautiful, nicely furnished and everything necessary to make yourself at home. Beautiful furniture and very luxurious bedding and towels. Very secure and safe as well. We enjoyed being able to have the door walls open for the wonderful breeze as well as the ocean sounds and smells. Easy walk to town for shops and restaurants. Ivy was great to work with and was most gracious in assisting us with changing the dates of our stay after we had everything all arranged due to an airline change of our flights. Only thing is, we didn't get the Onno's gift certificate - don't know if it's because we didn't pick up the keys there or not. We ate in most of the time anyway and enjoyed walking up to Janet's (grocery store) almost every day for fresh food. We would be happy to return someday to Playa Ventosa!

Better Than the Pictures!

My husband and I just returned from a weeks stay at this condo (6/12/2010 thru 6/19/2010). We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and as soon as we opened the door and saw the ocean view (which was even better than the photos posted on VRBO) we knew we made the right decision. Ivy's attention to detail is amazing, we felt like royalty. Every room (even the bathrooms) look like something out of a magazine. Breathtaking. The condo is perfect for couples, it's situated on the top floor and it's a corner unit, providing the most privacy. The master bedroom even has a second balcony with a partial ocan view that I don't think she even mentions in the VRBO description, what a bonus! The grounds are very clean and it's very secure. There is an armed guard 24 hours a day and 2 guards at night. We always felt safe here. The condo is across the street from the Ocean Sands Casino and within walking distance to the supermarket and restaurants/shops in town, so you really don't need a car. During the day we would open all the windows and let the breeze flow into the condo. Each room has it's own a/c unit so you can control the temperature for each room. The kitchen is equiped with everything you need to prepare a hearty meal. All you need is the food, there's already seasonings, most condiments and there was even margarita mix already there too. :) We ate out most days so we didn't get to use the kitchen as much as I would have liked to though. Ivy owns one of the restaurants on the beach, Onno's, we ate here on our anniversary and used the gift certificate that's inculded in the rental. Good food and good service, they serve a little bit of every kind of food, so there will be something for everyone's taste, and no problems using the gift certificate. Onno's is also where you pick up and drop off the keys for the condo and get the gift certificate. We did a couple of tours/excursions while staying here and they pick you up right at the front gate. The guard will come and ring the doorbell and let you know they are there. To sum it all up, I would definitely recommend this condo for anyone that likes luxury but at an affordable price.

Owner response:The setting really is so much better than the photos can exhibit. You are so close to the ocean it feels like you are on a ship with the waves crashing beneath you. Playa Ventosa is a small condo unit, very exclusive, with the best security anyone has ever experienced. The condo is not a cookie cutter unit , but built by a creative architect with fantastic stone features, windows from Europe, polished natural stone flooring, and stone sinks and walls in the bathrooms. All furnishings are imported from Morocco and Indonesia including all the lighting. Plenty of candles for ambiance and the finest in bedding for comfort. A very luxurious place to enjoy your beach vacation in Cabarete!
