Lush tropical landscaping surrounds this beautifully designed, newly constructed oceanfront Mexican home. Cangrejo y Toro’s unusual style combines contemporary design sensibility with traditional Mexican materials and architecture ………offering peace, luxury and privacy. The home is located on over seven acres of land and with over three hundred fifty feet of oceanfront.
Four separate structures define this home;
The Main Palapa, with its thirty foot soaring ceilings, offers a large kitchen with fully stocked pantry, studio/bedroom, full bath and ocean view dining area. The seventy-foot infinity lap pool and deck reach out to the wide beach and warm Pacific waters. From its comfortable living room you have a pool and beach/ocean view. The three bedroom suites are located in separate casitas (sm. buildings) giving our guests privacy
Enjoy the sunset from our beach sofa with it's fire pit.
The Gourmet food option is available upon request.
Welcome to Cangrejo y Toro
Enjoy the ocean view upon waking up in the traditional Palapa Casita featuring an open-air bathroom with stone shower and outdoor deck. There is a wonderful double daybed for sunset viewing or just finishing the book and naps. If requested we can provide you with up to two extra single beds.
Located on the opposite side of the main Palapa is the brick domed suite, which features a private deck overlooking the beach. The unique master bathroom with its natural features is your private spa, it includes an open rock shower, tree trunk sink and hot tub.
Our wonderful staff will offer you breakfast of local fruits and eggs and additional meals can be arranged if desired. Our caretaker, Marco is on duty all night and will tend to the gardens and pool during the day. They are both wonderful local people, dedicated to making your stay a pleasant private experience. They can help you with making arrangements for local charter fishing, hiking, massage and surfing.
We have spent the last three years constructing Cangrejo y Toro and we are very proud of what we have designed and built…………. experience this special place.

We had such a wonderful time at Cangrejo y Toro with our friends and our 12 month old son. The house is completely open, I would hesitate to even call it a house, it is a series of beautiful palapas with their own bathrooms and a central palapa with kitchen, study and living/dining areas. In general the house is completely open to the elements, so the fact that our stay was dry and sunny was perfect. I would recommend this wonderful home if you love the outdoors and being close to nature, it's almost like really really upscale camping. We will definitely return.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This was an luxury experience. The facilities are amazing, the staff are helpful, and the owner can help you arrange whatever type of vacation you are looking for. we had breakfasts and dinners made at the main palapa, that was well worth it. Planning on a return someday, this place will not disappoint you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our experience was even better than we imagined it. If you can believe it, the villa is more beautiful in person than photos. Every inch that your eyes encounter is met with impeccable taste in design, architecture and relaxed luxury. The domed bedroom ceiling is truly a work of art. Cangrejo y Toro was like nothing else we saw in the area. We came to celebrate a 40th birthday with friends, and once we arrived there was little need to venture out...usually just to explore the multiple surf spots in the area. Every amenity you could imagine was there and well thought out. One friend worked virtually from the comfort of the wi-fi in the air-conditioned library. The individual bedroom palapas provided each couple their own unique and private space. We purchased fresh caught lobster and oysters from the fisherman walking along the beach - delicious! Some in the group enjoyed a fabulous in-room massage, and the lovely staff cooked homemade chile rellenos and chicken mole that was literally the best Mexican food we'd ever encountered! We danced at night on the beautiful wood floors in the main palapa to an incredible sound system playing our own iPods. The entire week was luxurious without feeling contentious or stuffy. We hope to return one day soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Words cannot describe how crazy gorgeous this place is! I went into it expecting a lot from the pictures, and was blown away by the reality--it's your own private mansion on the seaside stocked with every amenity you didn't even imagine you needed. Each of the different casitas are beautiful, modern and clean with tropical details that enhance the natural surroundings. Nothing says luxury quite like taking an open air shower while watching waves crash along the shore of the beach. Every morning a tropical fruit breakfast was waiting for us and our dishes and mess from the previous evening had magically disappeared thanks to the fantastic and attentive house staff. The lounge area on the pool deck in combination with the infinity pool provided endless relaxation and entertainment--swim, sun, swim, sun! Only a short walk down the beach led to the sleepy fishing town of Mahajua where we enjoyed the freshest and most delicious seafood! We took surf lessons from a resident surfer, went kayaking in a remote lagoon with an oceanographer, hiked to a hidden cave with Marcos, the groundskeeper and even got to go fishing with the "mayor" of Mahajua! All in all, an amazing escape to paradise. I cannot wait to return!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was one of those trips where the experience was better than the expectation! The home is even more amazing in person. Not only was the home gorgeous but the setting and overall experience was superb. Staff was helpful, experienced and lovely. It was as close to having my own piece of paradise and the most relaxing vacation I have had in years. I totally recommend this spot to anyone seeking beauty, privacy, and relaxation in a luxurious setting where attention to detail is given to everything. And if you want to check out the surrounding area you'll find it equally as charming but I found it hard to leave this most perfect place since it had everything I needed and the best sunset view around!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This is really an ideal vacation getaway. the property is gorgeous, quiet and secluded. if you enjoy cooking the outdoor kitchen is well-stocked with all the comforts of home, but unlike home there is someone to tidy up for you! what i found most remarkable was all the open space--it was beautiful in May when we visited. warm and sunny, but always cool and relaxing underneath the palapas! this reminds me of a 5-star resort, minus all the pomp. stock up on drinks and food on your way, and you won't need (or want) to ever leave!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

These pictures can't express how amazing this place is - beautiful. Friendly, attentive staff that aren't overbearing. Great experience away from a hotel resort; this has personality and FUN without being surrounded by strangers. A true Mexico experience while still being constantly reminded that you're relaxing on vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What an amazing find - this place is paradise. Beautiful, clean, new amenities. The infinity pool is perfect and wild horses really do run down the beach. Some of my favorite touches: the open air kitchen, the lovely landscaping & the great soundsystem. The staff were friendly and helpful...Marcos arranged a horse ride on the beach for us. About the owner: We designed Cangrejo y Toro to be that Villa that surpasses every desire that a traveler could think of. Renting on the web can be a bit risky and our vacations are very important and who wants to spend a week in any other state but complete Luxury and satisfaction and a feeling that they are getting their money's worth. We have been working on this fun project for about six years now and think we got it right. Always enjoy when guests 'Get it ' and enjoy their stay.
