  I just want to say that the Hospitality in this place was amazing. The owner make us feel like home. The house was extremely clean upon our arrival and, despite Hurricane Irene, me and my family we had a blast. Nice and cozy house, spacious for kids to play and the two level make it feel like home away from home. Thank you Sarah for the great communication and for let us renting your place. I suggest this location for any kind of family, friends of who ever want to take a break from the day to day routine. I am looking forward to rent this house again. Michele Vianello and family

  We were a group of three little ones under 4 and four adults. Plenty of space and wonderful living areas to hang out after a long day on the slope! We really enjoyed making fires and just enjoying the beautiful scenery. We arrived just in time for the snow storm Friday night and the roads and driveway were plowed by morning. Very easy to get to Windham ski resort from the house. Only suggestion would be some updated pots and pans in the kitchen and some measuring cups! Thanks again!

  We had a lovely stay. There was plenty of room (makes a change from our last Windham rental!), it was warm and there were clear instructions. The owners were very helpful with the key and it was lovely to have stay somewhere were you felt like they genuinely wanted you to have a nice time. Thank you!

  We have had wonderful visit at Bond’s Chateau and we enjoyed our weekend stay very much! The scenic views on the way to the Wyndham have already put us in romantic mood. We arrived (two couples) on Saturday, after apple picking in Dutchess County (Red Hook area). The house was clean and neat with very comfortable large beds and great living room. We loved the open floor plan, large picturesque windows, spacious deck, and the abundance of color changing trees in the back. The surroundings were quiet, as expected. At night we used the fireplace, pass midnight, enjoying cozy atmosphere. We found plenty of dry wood under the deck. Early Sunday morning I enjoyed cup of coffee on the quiet deck overlooking woods. The foliage is colorful at this time of the year and it is beautiful in Catskills. The back of the property is a prime example of that. The large size of the house provided plenty of privacy and space. Too bad we could not stay longer. The separate thermostats for all rooms are very convenient and could be adjusted to individual taste. Big plus! Great place! Overall we all had very good time – Thank you!   I stayed at the Chateau Bond, 4 days after the people who left the negative review from February 2012 and i cannot agree with anything that they said. We have being going to this house for our ski vacations and weekend breaks on many occasions throughout the ski season for the last 6 years and we absolutely LOVE it. if the house is not available on the weekend we want to go then we will change our schedule rather than change location as we love this house so much. With regard to the ants, please remember that the house is in the woods and when you carry logs in for the fire, you may transport little critters with it, alas this is all part of country living. The house is only 1.5 miles from the slopes, not 5 miles as suggested by the reviewer, perhaps this person took a detour via Rockin Mexicana for a lovely margarita, i guess, who can blame them? Our kids love this house, we go with anothe family and there is plenty of room to comfortably sleep all 9 of us. The kids enjoy the den downstairs and after a day at the slopes it is fun for everyone to gather around the fire and swap stories of our escapades, and enough room for everyone to relax. Your house is awesom Sarah and Steve and we look forward to booking up some weekends for the forthcoming season and many years to come.

  I spent the weekend here with my family (including baby and two 5-year olds) and we all loved it! The house is HUGE - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms and a grand open kitchen. The place is cozy and warm, and stocked with anything you may need. The brand new deck is where we lived! The patio furniture was old, but we enjoyed it very much, and the grill was perfect after a good scrubbing. We do suggest a gate on the patio stairs, as we were afraid of bears (we are city folk, haha!). The firepit was also a hit - we do suggest some plastic chairs or wooden benches down there, we used our own camping chairs which we had in the car. Otherwise it would have been a dissapointment. From the house we went to Colgate Lake and South-North Lakes (you have to pay $8 to enter the park), both were very different and about 20-30 minutes away. The scenery is so beautiful with mountains and forest. Overall, I give it A+, Sara was a gem and so helpful. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

  We stayed at the house this past Memorial Day weekend, we liked the house so much that we decided to stay one extra day. The house is great, it is located in a very private area surrounded by the trees. The house is spacious, we had more than enough space for 2 families (with 4 kids), it never felt crowded. Kids (ages 1 to 16) loved the house as well - plenty of places around the house to hike, there's a fire pit to roast marshmallows and lots of pillows inside the house to build "fortress". Kids and adults had a wonderful time! We also made a day trip to North-South lake and rented boats there. Sarah, thank you for excellent communications throughout our stay and for the nicely stocked kitchen!! We were impressed with everything you had in the kitchen, it was like being home away from home - kitchen has absolutely everything you may need and then some more! The room upstairs is awesome - enough space for everyone, kids were playing board games while adults cooked and talked. The only suggestion - new grill!! Please!

  just wanted to say thanks again for a great weekend at your ski house. this is the 3rd year in a row we have stayed there and we always have a good time. the house is perfect our group which consists of 2 families with kids ranging 9-16. the extra tv room downstairs is perfect for the kids to have a space of their own while the adults hang out by the fire upstairs. we always feel so comfortable staying there and can't wait to come back next year! the house is always clean and ready for us when we arrive. it's location to the mountain is great. just a minute or 2 to the base of the mountain. we have one adult who does not even ski but she sits by the fire at the house all day ad meets us at the lodge for lunch since it is so close. keeping out fingers corssed for lots of snow in 2013!

  The home that we rented for 3 nights was not clean, had an ant infestation, did not include clean linens, was not 1.5 miles from Windham Mountain, was structurally unsafe and not up to building code. - Overall condition of house was not clean and unacceptable. Includes the Refrigerator, utensils, bathrooms, and food/trash under sofa cushions - Ant infestation o Ants were continually present throughout our stay o They were on the sofa, in the kitchen, in the master bedroom, in the kitchen o The ants also crawled on us - Linens were dirty o Towels not usable - There were broken and unusable fixtures in the bathroom - House was not 1.5 miles from Windham Mountain o Over 100% underestimated o It is between 4.3 to 5.1 miles - Fire Alarms were not present on 2nd Floor - There were no carbon monoxide alarms - Phones were not working o Unable to call Police if necessary - Structurally unsafe o Top of inside stairs had a moveable, not permanent gate at top of stairs o There were nails at top of interior railing which my sign ripped his hand open on o Exterior stairs were not up to code; length of step depth is too short resulting in one child falling down the stairs - House smelled as if animals or pets had been on the premises and urinated in the house When contacting the owner, she only offered another night's stay. After finding ants on us and in our hair, along with the dirty conditions and linens, another night is not what we wanted. Further the owner continued to avoid us and deny any problems.

  Owner response: As this is the first complaint ever filed about our house in the 9 years of ownership, it is difficult not to read this extremely long list of complaints and wonder what is really behind all of the unhappiness. We are ALWAYS (24/7) reachable by phone to listen to guest concerns about our rental property, as was the case with this guest. Our policy is & has always been to reply promptly/immediately once we are made aware of a situation. By offering to send the cleaning service back to re-clean the refrigerator confirms our prompt response policy. When this offer was refused we offered a courtesy night, which was considered then later rejected. The other complaints were not brought to our attention until the tenant had completed their stay & returned home. Later they demanded a full refund along with making other threats. We strive to rectify any situation while the guest is still on the property as to make their stay enjoyable. Calling us to discuss a situation, so we can solve the problem together yields the best results for all vs. a long letter full of rants and run on sentences. The family that rented the house the week prior and the family, who arrived 4 days after this disgruntled group departed, had zero complaints or issues with the house as I reached out to them in an attempt to verify any of these criticisms. Both families will return again. Please know that we very much enjoy our guests who return year after year and we enjoy adding new families to this list every season. Our house, located in the woods, ON Windham Mountain, does not have a hot tub, spa or room service but is extremely clean, safe & comparably priced for the size. It is a stones throw from Ski Windham (maybe two throws). Thank you all for another successful season. Looking forward to the summer months! Negative energy need not apply.

  We didn't spend a lot of time at the house but instead used it as a base for a family reunion. We comfortably fit 8 adults and 2 kids in the house! And we had room to spare with two functional living areas and a deck. Space for all ages to hang out. In the sweltering heat, the rooms in the downstairs stayed cool! I'd easily recommend this to family and friends who wanted a place to rent in Catskills near all the best ammenities!
