Fairhope Bay Rental 'Pier Relief'
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Located on beautiful Mobile Bay where you can experience sunsets as never before. The pier and covered pavilion is fully furnished with all utensils so you can enjoy a crab, shrimp, or crawfish boil. Relax with friends or relatives on the pier and reminisce while watching the sunset sitting in the swing or chairs. A picnic table is provided on the pier for eating. We also have a sitting area under the house with a swing, hammock and adirondack chairs.
County Road 1 is a great place to walk or bike as it is about 5 miles long. Enjoy the scenery as you go along. Weeks Bay Reserve is 3 miles away and a great place to view and take children to see the plants, wildlife and museum.
Shop till you drop at the Foley Riviera Outlet Mall which is about a 25 minute drive or go into downtown Fairhope and enjoy the quaint local stores and lovely scenery. Is golf your game? There are many golf courses in the area that are reasonably priced. Gulf Shores which is about a 40 minute drive has a water theme park, putt putt golf, many wonderful restaurants, and beautiful beaches. If you love to go out to eat, you must go to 'Big Daddy's' on Fish River or 'Jessie's' in Magnolia Springs. Both are about a 20 minute drive and the food is great!
Bring your own boat as long as it does not exceed 17 foot limit on pier. Tying up boats or seadoos on the pier is not recommended as winds can shift quite dramatically and result in sinking.
Jubilees are quite common during the summer. Gigs are provided as this phenomenon occurs quite early in the morning (3:00-7:00 AM) and can result in a bountiful harvest. Note: a 10 flounder limit is imposed by the state on all jubilees and all flounder must exceed 12 inches.

My sisters and I take a trip together ever Spring. We all agree that this was one of our best. The house was beautiful and the setting was awesome. We shopped in Foley and Fair Hope. We ate at many wonderful restaurants in Fairhope and surrounding areas. We had great sunsets and even 2 moonsets. We each had our own bedroom, which was great. With 21/2 baths we each had a place to do our makeup. The king bed was not really comfortable, but maybe I'm use to my bed. They had everything we needed. We had a great week.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Pier Relief more than lived up to our expectations. The house is clean, modern, comfortable and the kitchen has everything that you could possibly need. We thought the location was perfect - overlooking Mobile Bay in a quiet residential neighbourhood but a short drive to nearby attractions. The pavillion at the end of the pier is a great place to watch the gulls and pelicans and we saw dolphins passing by a few times. This was our first visit to the area and we loved it, can't wait to return. I would highly recommend Pier Relief and would surely stay there again. Thank you Wendy and Ralph - we had a great time in Fairhope and Pier Relief certainly added to the experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are happy that we made your first trip to Fairhope a positive one! One of our favorite things is taking the grandkids on the pier and letting them feed the seagulls and watching for the dolphins. Glad you were able to get a glimpse of them. Love to have you return. Thank you again for choosing our home for your stay! Wendy

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Pier Relief while in town for a wedding. Everything was wonderful! The view is beautiful, great pier for fishing and catching crabs, nice yard for soccer and football for the kids. Anything we could have possibly needed was anticipated. Wendy was great to deal with, a true Southern hostess. The kitchen is very well equiped, the bedrooms and baths were very nice and confortable. We all enjoyed having a central place to meet after the wedding and look forward to a longer vist in the near future. Thank you so much for a perfect getaway!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind comments. Ralph and I try very hard to make everything as perfect as possible. We appreciate your choosing our rental for your stay. Come again! Wendy

We were very impressed with this property. The photos don't do it justice. Very well equipped with everything we needed, very clean, spacious and comfortable. Great porch overlooking the bay for morning coffee and sunset cocktails. Love the sounds of birds and waves along the pier. Peaceful and relaxing. Just a 15 min drive to downtown Fairhope to do some shopping where the town was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Near Oak Hollow Farms for horseback riding too--really pretty there. Friendly people everywhere.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Sally so much for your kind comments. We are happy that we made your stay enjoyable.

Had a most relaxing and enjoyable stay at the " Pier Relief " house. We enjoyed a lot of cooking, laughing, and, sitting out on the pier or porch watching the wildlife and the spectacular sunets!! Some of us enjoyed morning walks down County road 1, going into Fairhope and shopping or sightseeing. None of us wanted to leave, and we are talking about coming back again!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Cathy, We are so happy that your "girls getaway" was a success. Thank you for allowing us to help you with this adventure. Please let us know if we can help you in the future. Wendy & Ralph

Growing up in Mobile, I was blessed to have parents that provided our family with a summer home on Mobile Bay at Mullet Point. Affectionately known as “Grampaw’s Bay” by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, our home was a place where unforgettable friends and memories were made for almost 30 years. After being away from the eastern shore for so long, it was time for our family to re-connect with all the amazing sights and sounds this area has to offer. How thankful we were to find such a perfect home that Ralph and Cindy Elmore were willing to share with others! For selfish reasons, I hate to comment on just how wonderful their home is for fear that it will not be available the next time we want to rent it. But in all fairness to the Elmores, I have to say everything was perfect! The property was well-manicured and the house itself was immaculate. It was tastefully furnished and well stocked, yet still comfortable and kid friendly. The pier was the center of activity both day and night. My 90 year old father was out there every chance he got to try to catch that “prize winning” flounder or speckled trout. Whether you were sunbathing, fishing, crabbing or just enjoying the sights – the pier was well equipped for our enjoyment. For me though, the most peaceful place of all was the front balcony of the house. From there, mornings began listening to the calls of the seagulls and watching the pelicans fly by so low you could almost reach out and touch them. In the late afternoon, family members seemed to be automatically drawn to the balcony to share the amazing sight of the sun setting on Mobile Bay. And at night, the unobstructed view of the night sky was breathtaking. I can’t wait to get back there. Thanks so much Ralph and Cindy for sharing your beautiful home!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Ralph and I appreciate your wonderful comments. We are so happy that our house contributed to making more beautiful memories for your family. We would love to have you return for another visit. Ralph and Wendy

We came to Point Clear for a wedding at the Grand Hotel and decieded to make a long weekend stay out of it. Ralph and Wendy were easy to book with and their home is amazing. Very clean and comfortable and roomy. The bayside pier is awesome. We could not keep our nine year old out of the water as it is shallow and the bottom is sandy. Our teenage daughters enjoyed fishing off the end of the pier and catching Blue Crabs in the crab traps and having a crab boil. "Pier Relief" is a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quite. The only noise came from the many sea gulls and pelicans roosting over the water. We also enjoyed the fresh boiled crawfish from Discount Fisherman bait shop just up the road on Hwy. 98. Our only regret is that we did not have more time to relax on this trip. We will definately be back and will bring our boat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words. Ralph and I try very hard to make everything just right. We look forward to coming and visiting Lake Wedowee if we can get our schedules right. Thanks again! Wendy

Fresh and clean, the cottage was cool and inviting as we arrived just in time to grab a refreshment and watch the beautiful sunset on the bay. As we prepared dinner, we were delighted with the well provisioned kitchen and quality decor. When we had an issue with the internet, Ralph was to the rescue within the hour. We had a delightful crab boil at the pavillion at the end of the dock and it couldn't have been more perfect for a relaxing and delicious night. Stars twinkled over the bay and there was a nice breeze. My toddler grand son was expecially thrilled with the swings, slides and climbing area downstairs. The pavillion at the end of the pier is also good for the young ones as it has gates that can contain the area. Being a Realtor, my standards are very high. I would highly recommend this arrangement to you for your next adventure to the charming village of Fairhope, AL. There are day trips to Foley for shopping or to Gulf Shores for a day at the beach. Next time we plan a trip to Fairhope, we will check the availability of "Pier Relief" first!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Margaret! Ralph and I are thrilled that you and your family enjoyed your stay at "Pier Relief". Please come again!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful week at Pier's Relief on the week between Christmas and New Year's. Owners Ralph and Wendy Elmore are helpful and accomodating. It's refreshing to stay at a property where the owners obviously care about the quality of your experience and go out of the way to be welcoming! We're veteran travelers, having stayed in countless condos, beach houses, etc., over the years, and I can honestly say that I was stunned by the quality of the furnishings in Pier's Relief. In stead of the typical threadbare, bland, and uncomfortable furnishings and sparsely-supplied kitchens, Pier's Relief had very comfortable beds and furniture, and the kitchen was the best-equipped we've ever stayed in--period. The fresh flowers waiting for us were the icing on the cake. We plan to return, and would recommend PR to any family, young or (like us) old. Thanks, Elmores!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I use VRBO to rent places several times a year, and Pier Relief was easily one of the best. A great location that allowed us to pack all kinds of fun and sightseeing into a long weekend, and still had time to relax on the awesome pier. Thanks again Wendy, hope to see you next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: Our names are Ralph, Wendy and Khylee Elmore. After many years of vacationing on the bay in different houses, we decided to try and purchase our own place. We love the atmosphere and all our children and grandchildren love coming over and spending time on the water fishing and crabbing. It's a great place to rest and relax and leave your cares behind. The kids always enjoyed playing card games and staying out on the pier watching the sunset.
