Just 3 houses back from the Atlantic Ocean on a private, guarded beach! No public allowed, ever! Beach passes are required!
Wonderful, large, vintage, 4 bedroom, family beach house that sleeps 10 max in beds with 2 l/2+ baths plus our enclosed outside shower. Enjoy our large east-facing deck with lots of lounge chairs & flowering planters. Deck is toddler friendly & steps can be closed off with 2 baby gates (not provided). Relax or have a meal on the quaint screened in rear porch that overlooks our landscaped yard with sandy play area. Enjoy living room comfort in overstuffed chairs, couch & cable TV. Dinner seating is 6-9 at DR table plus 4 more at large cafe table (plus 4-6 in screened porch).
Our Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed, Bath, and sliding glass doors to a private lanai deck with chairs & tropical flowers. The first floor also contains a kid's bedroom with 1 set of comfy bunk beds, sunny window. Compact, fully equipped small galley kitchen with stack washer & dryer.
Vaulted cathedral ceilings on east side with ceiling to floor windows let the beautiful sun shine in. 3 ceiling fans circulate the ocean breezes. Air conditioned with wall mounted units. Triple sliding glass doors off large dining area connect to the screened-in porch with chairs & table.
Enclosed outside shower next to porch & deck. Big, landscaped backyard with good size sandy play area for children & you can watch them from the porch or camp out with a lounger in the sand too! Charcoal Weber grill in rear yard.
A compact circular stairway leads upstairs to the sleeping loft with a King & Single bed. There is a full bathroom in the upper hall. Also a large bedroom with vaulted ceiling, ceiling fan, TV, & large window, skylight with Double Bed & Single Bed.
Our drive can accommodate 4 (full size) or 6 (mid-size/small cars). There is no public street parking permitted in our neighborhood due to our private oceanfront beach.
Just 250 feet from our driveway is the dune crossing to the very wide PRIVATE BEACH with lifeguards & the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The beach house is the fourth one back from the ocean front. This makes it very easy & convenient to walk to & from the beach with small children, beach gear, for bathroom breaks, lunch & snacks etc. Because of gated security, children roam back & forth from beach to house on their own safely.
Unlike Bethay Beach Boardwalk area, our beach is never crowded since no one except owners & their guests are allowed. You will be given special beach passes to indicate you are our guests. No pets permitted on beach or in house!
From our surf you can wade & swim, ride waves, ocean kayak, body surf and even surf fish when the lifeguards are off duty! There is no better way to spend a relaxing day with the family. There are plenty of other children & families to interact with nearby.
Or, take a beach walk 1 mile North to Bethany Boardwalk & Towne Center, or, 1 mile South the Fenwick Island State Park (where you can surf fish 24 hrs a day!) Your best bet is to place your chair near the water with a beverage & RELAX! YOU'RE AT THE BEACH!!!

Dune crossing @ end of our street. This is a family beach for quiet & relaxation. No loud music etc but alcohol is permitted as long as no glass containers are used. Home is a large, older, beach cottage full of vintage charm & character with vaulted high beam ceilings, floor to ceiling windows facing East, a spiral staircase to sleeping loft & 3rd bedroom & bath. A large East facing deck, plus screened rear porch off dining area & quaint private master bedroom lanai overlook landscaped yard full of flowers & trees. A large sandy area in our rear yard is a great place to relax in a lounge chair or let the kiddies play in the sand with their beach toys. The beach house has 2 cable TVs. The stone driveway accommodates 4+ cars.

- No Pets Allowed : Never, ever any pets or security deposit will be charged!
- Kid Friendly : Kids love the sandy rear yard area for play, showers in the outside shower, playing on the decks. Small children should sleep downstairs due to the compact, open-sided circular stairway or bring your baby gates.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : Renters under age of 29 not permitted, except for younger children of registered guests. No Party Groups etc!
- Smoking Not Allowed : Plenty of screened porch & deck space plus beautifully landscaped yard with seating areas for our smoking friends.

Year Purchased: 1985
We vacationed at Delaware beaches for many years & purchased our beach house 20 years ago. Because we wanted a uncrowded beach & quiet area without group beach houses etc, we chose Bethany Beach.
Middlesex Beach was perfect as it has great security & guards to maintain the family atmosphere. Plus, a wide, clean beach, free of crowds & noise with the best lifeguards anywhere!
Many of the other owners & their families use their properties in the Summer. We are one of the very few reasonably priced beach rental houses, on the ocean-side of the US Route #1, in a development of 2 million dollar (+up) houses. Middlesex has NO townhouses or condos! Every house is single family deatached. Yet, it's an easy stroll, just under a mile to Bethany Boardwalk by beach or street. Kids love the location too as the beach is so close to the house. No long, hot walks or crossing busy streets to reach the sand.
Within 3 blocks, just across the highway, you have a fresh seafood store & carryout, general store, convenience store, chinese restaurant, nail salon, Subway & McDonalds & real estate office. Grotto's Pizza & others deliver to our house when you don't want to cook. 2 miles West are 4 major grocery stores: Giant Food, Food Lion, Harris Teeter & G/E Hockers. A nearby liquor store is a mile North.
Our family, relatives & friends love our little piece of paradise in Bethany Beach. The area has beach town vibe from yester-year when times were simpler. Ice cream shoppes, cafes, book & toy store, botiques, & mini-golf make up the main strip of Bethany that leads to the Boardwalk promenade & bandstand (where there's something going on almost every night in Summer). Rehobeth & Dewey Beach (plus Ocean City Md) are nearby for amusement rides, night clubs, bars, movies etc.
If you're a first time visitor, you'll fall in love with Bethany. If you're a regular repeat visitor, you already know how great it is!
