  The location of this home is spectacular. We stayed here for a family get together during a week in May and couldn't have enjoyed your home more. The snorkel equipment and boogie boards, beach chairs, all were appreciate by young and old alike! The Albatross were nesting very nearby allowing us to observe the nest and the parents and some courting mates. All very special. Thanks for sharing your home with us, wish we could call it our own!!! We hope to return in the not too far future! We would love to stay here again.

  The ad in VRBO is very accurate, so we weren't disappointed. The owners made it all so easy and have recommended it to our friends already. Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation.

  This property is in a great location. We really enjoyed the view and watching the golfers. At the end of day it was great place to view the sunset. It was comfortable with all the conveniences of home. Everything was there that we needed to make our trip perfect. The owners were very helpful.

  We loved our stay here. The pictures did not do the size of the house justice. Very clean and comfortable but they should invest in some memory foam or a new matress in the master bed. The view is absolutly beautiful. From the patio or living room (large windows wall to wall) you can see a waterfall in the distance from one direction the golf course and ocean in another which makes for great sunsets and bbq's. Which we had many. The house had everything needed for cooking and bbq's. I suggest checking the cupboards and frig. Before shopping. Its in a great location take a walk down the street the house is on and your at queens bath or walk across th golf course through the condos to secret beach ( my favorite beach) for great snorkling. Princeville adventures is just outside the princeville entrance for kayaking and zipline(so fun). Hanalei is the closest town where you have to try shaved ice paradise , village snack shop & bakery for the best tropical pancakes and tahiti nui for great local entertainment (decendents filmed here) and the best mai tais. Tunnels beach for great snorkeling with sea turtles or ke'e beach at the end of the road for snorkeling and hiking on the napali coast. The house had wifi' snorkle gear a several boogie boards, inflaitables, towels and ice chests available. Warning geckos love to talk to each other early in the morning and so do the roosters. We found a centipede in the house and bright green lizards on the patio. Bannas and plumeria grow off the patio too and different types of colored birds will join you for breakfast just off the patio. You'll also see many rainbows..just beautiful. Wish i could share some of the pictures.

  We recently stayed at this house for 2 weeks with our 3 young boys, and we had a fabulous time. We vacation regularly in Kauai, so the island itself wasn't new to us, and we have stayed in a variety of vacation rentals. This was by far our favorite. The location is great with gorgeous views and an easy evening stroll to admire the sunset, albatrosses nesting nearby, and very little noise other than the occasional rooster crowing. The inside of the house is well-layed out and comfortable and the house is well stocked with basic supplies. The house has huge windows through which to enjoy the view. Most-importantly, there is great outdoor space for dining and relaxing. The owners were also friendly, prompt and helpful. We would highly recommend Melia Kai and hope to say there again soon.

  Excellent place to stay, clean and very affordable. Nothing like sitting on the porch watching the sunset over the ocean BBQ steaks. The house is clean in a nice neighborhood. Will recommend to everyone this is the place to stay. Owners are organized and easy to work with.

  We spent 11 days in Kauai. Overall, the vacation was wonderful. We have 2 teenagers, 16 and 13. The home size and layout was perfect for us. My husband and I had our own "wing", master bedroom with bathroom, and our children each had their own room and they shared their own bathroom. The home had an open feel, windows faced the fairway with the ocean in the distance. We could see the whales breaching in the distance from the living room. The walk down the fairway was very nice, baby albatross in protected grass areas, to a tee box with great views of Queens Bath in one direction, and the mountains with Hideaway Beach in the other. We travelled around most of the island, and though the north side is slightly cooler, and wetter, it is much more lush and tropical with many waterfalls, beautiful uninhibited beaches all a short walking distance from the road. Though the house is slightly dated, it is very comfortable and you can not go wrong for the cost! We would return again, if the opportunity arises.

  Wonderful place to stay, the store is close by and enjoyed siting on the deck and watching the birds and looking at the stars at night. Great place for family's to be together relax ans have fun. The house was clean and well maintained. Great having the washer and dryer

  This was our first trip to Kauai and it couldn't have been better. The location and views were amazing. Melia Kai was close to everything on the north coast. The house was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Melia Kai to anyone considering a stay on Kauai

  We just returned from our Kauai vacation and loved it! Melia Kai was the perfect place to stay for three couples or a small family. You can't beat the price or location. We loved being on the North Shore. We were so close to the best shopping and beaches. The guys really loved being right on the golf course. Our favorite little spot, Queen's Bath, was a 5 minute walk from the house. We can't wait to come back. Thanks again!

Cancellation policy:

MELIA KAI RENTAL RULES AGREEMENT 1. Agreement: Contract is between owners of Melia Kai and the signer of this contract, herein referred to as "Guest". The Guest is an adult over the age of 25 and will be an occupant of the unit during the entire reserved period. The term "Guests" includes all of the occupants that are with the Guest. Other occupants may be family members, friends or children under the Guest's direct supervision 2. Cancellation: If you find it necessary to cancel after executing this rental contract, your security deposit will be forfeited. If the cancellation is inside 60 days of your arrival date, we will attempt to re-book the property for the rates and dates you were quoted. If we are able to re-book the property, we will refund the rental amount you paid in advance, less the $200.00 cancellation fee. If we do not succeed in re-booking the house, we cannot refund the rental amount. 3. Check in: Check in time is any time after 3:00 p.m. Keys will be ready for pick-up at property location. Keys will not be issued with a balance owing or without a signed rental agreement in the owner’s possession. 4. Check out: Check out time is 10 a.m. Cleaning service will arrive shortly after your check-out time. 5. Cleaning: Your rental has been cleaned and inspected before arrival and will be cleaned and inspected after you leave. Please help us by reporting any problems asap. You are required to leave the property in the same general condition that you received it. Reasonable cleaning is expected. Please make sure to load and run dishwasher and trash is taken out to trash barrels. Leave the keys in the lockbox. 6. The security deposit is fully refundable and will be returned within fourteen days of your departure assuming there is no damage to the property, the house, or its contents. We will itemize any charges made to cover missing items, damage to the property, house or its contents, or any excessive cleaning that may be required. All food and drink spills should be cleaned up as they occur. 7. Tenants and all other occupants will be required to vacate the premises and forfeit the rental fee and security deposit for any of the following: A. Occupancy exceeding the sleeping capacity stated on the reservation confirmation, B. Causing damage to the premises rented or to any of the neighboring properties, C. Any other acts which interferes with neighbor's right to quiet enjoyment of their property. 8. A $50.00 fee will be charged for each lost key. 9. What we supply: We provide linens, bath towels and some beach towels. We also supply basic cleaning supplies, laundry soap and paper products to get you started. 10. Hold Harmless: Owners do not assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither do we accept liability for any inconvenience arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control. 11. Additional terms and conditions: The undersigned, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges owners from any and all claims, demands and causes of action by reason of any injury or whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising there from. l2. Remember that you are renting a private home. Please treat it with the same respect you would like shown to your own home.
