  My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by taking a road trip from Colorado to Vancouver. When we arrived in Vancouver, we were not disappointed in choosing this property for our 5 day stay in Vancouver. Everything was just as it is described in the listing and the photos do not do it justice. It was clean and comfortable and the location was just perfect; quiet and well kept neighborhood and beautiful home. We were able to walk to the light rail to take into downtown so we didn't have to do much driving. Our host, Caroline, spent about 30 to 40 minutes when we arrived explaining how we could best enjoy our stay there by offering maps and telling us the best places to go. We spent most of our time in downtown Vancouver, took a bike ride on a very pretty day in Stanley Park, and crossed the Lions Bridge and explored Northern Vancouver. We definitely recommend spending one or two days in Stanley Park. It is so great to be in downtown and then in a forest setting within minutes. All in all, we enjoyed our accommodations and visit very much. This property was one of the highlights of our trip!

  We stayed at the Home Plate for six nights in May 2012. The main points about this place that made it a great place to stay are: cleanliness, comfort, location and friendly service. What more could one ask for - it is also reasonably priced. When we arrived we found the place to be spotless, fresh and shining. No shortage of materials such as dish soap and towels. The suite had all we needed to make our stay comfortable. A bedroom with a comfy queen size bed, reading lamps on both sides, closet space and chest of drawers. The living room area had a sofa, TV and WIFI connection and the kitchen was well equipped. The location is convenient as well as being situated in a nice quiet neighbourhood. Within two blocks you have all the action on Main Street: cafes, restaurants, deli, supermarket and bank. Vancouver’s famous and beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park is a short walk. Last but not least, Caroline is a terrific host. Friendly, courteous, and respectful of one’s privacy. We highly recommend the Home Plate to anyone who is planning a vacation inVancouver.

  We had a great experience staying at the Home Plate suite. The suite felt "homey" and is very clean as pictured. It's within walking distance to many eclectic restaurants, the beautiful Elizabeth park, and the state of the art Hillcrest Aquatic Centre. Our 3 & 6 year old daughters didn't want to leave at the end of our stay. Caroline was very courteous and responsive. It's our first time booking an accomodation through vrbo.com and we're very pleased with the result.

  The location is next to the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park and Olympic Swimming pool. Carolyn is a great host. The place is well appointed and maintained. It is on a quiet street but with convenient access to all parts of Vancouver.

  Great location right near Queen Elizabeth Park and Main st. Lots to do and eat on Main st. We did not use public transportation but the owner had a book full of information to help you get around by public transportation and with suggestions of things to see, do, and eat. The suite is private and the owner is very respectful of your privacy but extremely friendly and helpful. The free street parking was a large money saver! You get exactly what is offered plus more! I will stay there again when I return and have already recommended it to my friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay and your hospitality!

  Home Plate was a very good place to stay and provides the renter with excellent value. It was very clean and contained all the amenities required for a self contained vacation. Suite was in walking distance of fine restaurants, grocery and liquor stores and rapid transit. As well, the property is located very close to Queen Elizabeth Park which is a beautiful place to go for a walk. Owners were very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions about where to eat, things to do, etc.. They were even thoughtful enough to provide us with umbrellas when we arrived in the midst of a rain storm. Neighbourhood is very quiet with excellent street parking. The suite is in such a good location that you could stay here for a vacation and not rent a car.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.

  We stayed here for 3 nights in November, beautiful suite, very clean, large bedroom, nice heated ceramic tile floors to get up to in the morning, very quite area, good parking, close to large aquatic center. Owner very freindly and accommodating. Would defiently stay here again if available. We normally stay in hotels, but this is far better value.

  We spent 6 nights at this beautiful, quiet retreat. We brought our car and had a great place to park it but next time we may not bring a car as the suite is in a great location. The closeness to Main street for groceries, restaurants, transit and the ease and closeness to the Underground train was ideal. At night the suite was so quiet and the beds were comfortable. I can't wait for our return to Vancouver and Home Plate Suite!
