The apartment most comfortably sleeps 2 but we can accommodate 4 (with an inflatable queen mattress)in a pinch.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
We have lived in this neighborhood for over 30 years. In 2005 we moved just 12 blocks to our current location. What continues to attract us is Mt Tabor Park, one of the finest city parks in Portland which sits in our back yard, and the view of the city.

Like many Portlanders we lead an active lifestyle. I run, scull and occasionally ski and cycle while Michael is a dedicated cyclist. The garden is my passion and the landscaping reflects the plant nerd in me. We are also committed travelers which is why we have opened the apartment on the lower level of our home to other fellow travelers. We often travel via homestays and farmstays and we wanted to share that same kind of experience with others.

We stayed at this home in July and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It felt like a true home from home but set in a gentler time. A very quiet area but also most convenient to all that goes on in Portland and not too far from downtown. Home sits in and is surrounded by a wonderful neighborhood of hilly tree-lined streets. We got a great Portland Oregon vibe staying. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, we will be back here again.

My 27 year old daughter and I planned a trip together to Portland and chose this home for it's central location and promised views of the city. It did not let us down. We wanted to take several day trips including the beach, Mt. St. Helens, the wineries, Portland Zoo, etc. and this location was perfect for launching each morning. A quick stop at the neighborhood cafe just a few minutes away for a light breakfast & coffee - then off we'd go. A long day out & about, we came "home" then simply walked to the neighborhood pub for dinner & live music. Really enjoyed this neighborhood! Our host & hostess and their extended "family" :) were so accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the gardens and loved the views especially at night.

The layered view and the spacious accommodations were great to come back to after days of sightseeing in Portland and in the gorge and mountains nearby. We never tired of looking out the picture windows at the artfully designed garden, the city down below, and the mountains in the distance. The apartment was comfortable and furnished with all we needed, thanks to the thoughtful planning of our gracious hosts. It felt like home.

We would recommend this property. It is close to the airport, downtown and recreational activities. There is a wonderful view of the city and the owner's garden. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant and a coffee shop within walking distance.
Owner response:The apartment is also a 5 minute walk of one of Portland's most runnable, walkable and bikeable parks. It's a perfect place for a picnic while watching the sunset (if you don't want to watch the sun set from the apartment's terrace).

This was a great place to stay and explore all the great things Portland has to offer. We (My wife and I and our two young daughters) stayed for a month and saw a great deal of Portland from this beautiful apartment. The view was magnificent and the girls enjoyed playing in the lush garden and playing with the owners' dog. It was also a fantastic place to watch the 4th of July fireworks. The owners are welcoming and friendly without being too intrusive. I would recommend this place to anyone who plans to visit America's most interesting city.

Wow! Words can not do justice to the beautiful gardens surrounding this very large, very well-equipped apartment. The views from the living room and bedroom windows are worth waking up for each day. Anything we needed, we found by opening a drawer or closet or by asking for it. The bed was comfortable, the shower- hot, the living room complete with a gas-lit fireplace, and the kitchen huge with full-sized appliances. The owners were gracious and friendly and available. Quiet, serene, beautiful views, this apartment was everything we were looking for. We will definitely stay here again.
